Welcome to the 2025 North America World Championship Qualifier!
Yesterday, the 16 Duelists with the most World Qualifying Points competed for 2 invitations to this year’s Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME in Paris, France. Julien Kehon and James Markowitz came out on top, each earning a coveted invitation. Now, 2818 more Duelists have gathered at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana to compete for North America’s last 4 World Championship invitations – along with paid travel and accommodation – and a ton of other awesome prizes. Competition will be fierce this weekend. All competitors in the North America World Championship Qualifier needed to earn an invitation to compete, proving their skill as a Duelist. Plus, the 14 incredible Duelists in yesterday’s World Qualifying Points Playoff who didn’t earn an invitation to the World Championship yesterday have returned to compete against the larger pool of Duelists for another shot.
The recent releases of the Battles of Legend: Monster Mayhem and Duelist’s Alliance booster sets are certain to be impactful this weekend. If yesterday’s World Qualifying Points Playoff is any indication, the “Onomat” cards from Duelist’s Alliance will greatly influence the results this weekend. Of the 16 Duelists in yesterday’s World Qualifying Points Playoff, 3 of them chose to use the new “Onomat” cards with a “Ryzeal” strategy. A Maliss Deck and Mitsurugi Ryzeal Deck ultimately triumphed in the World Qualifying Points Playoff, and Duelists will be looking to see whether these Decks repeat their success this weekend, or new strategies emerge on top.
The pressure is on. For most Duelists in attendance, this is the highest-stakes tournament of the year that they’ll play in. An opportunity to represent their country in the World Championship is on the line, and many of this weekend’s competing Duelists practiced extensively with their Decks in order to prepare. But at the end of the weekend, only four Duelists will be able to join Julien Kehon and James Markowitz at the World Championship to Duel on behalf of North America. It’s almost time to Duel!
