Round 1 Feature Match: Kenneth Bumbaugh vs. David Bracero
Kenneth Bumbaugh from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and David Bracero from Bayonne, New Jersey are Dueling in Round 1 of YCS Providence! The Dragon Ruler cards once dominated the competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, and have since fallen out of favor. Now, Bumbaugh is bringing them back with the new Dragon Ruler support in Alliance Insight! His opponent, David Bracero, is using a Millennium Exodia Deck, and hopes to use the power of The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate to overcome the Dragon Rulers. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Bumbaugh chose to go first in Duel 1 and opened up with Forbidden Droplet; Triple Tactics Talent; Droll & Lock Bird; Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders; and Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos.
He Set Forbidden Droplet and Triple Tactics Talent and then ended his turn.
Bracero activated the effect of Heart of the Blue-Eyes in his hand to add Millennium Ankh from his Deck to his hand, prompting Bumbaugh to activate the effect of Droll & Lock Bird. Next, Bracero activated the effect of Golem that Guards the Millennium Treasures in his hand to place it in his Spell & Trap Card Zone. He Special Summoned it in Attack Position by revealing the Ankh next. Then, he activated the Millennium Ankh! He showed Bumbaugh the Left Arm of the Forbidden One from his hand and showed the other 4 pieces of Exodia to Bumbaugh from his Deck. He Special Summoned The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate in Attack Position and then entered his Battle Phase. He attacked with Exodia Incarnate, and when he tried to use its effect to increase its ATK to 8000 in the Damage Step, Bumbaugh flipped Forbidden Droplet and sent Redox from his hand to his Graveyard to negate its effect and keep its ATK at 0. The Golem attacked directly next, dropping Bumbaugh down to 6000 Life Points.
Bumbaugh drew Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls and then banished Tidal from his hand and Redox from his Graveyard to Special Summon Blaster from his hand. He activated the effects of Redox and Tidal as Chain Links 1 and 2 respectively, adding Reactan, Dragon Ruler of Pebbles and Stream, Dragon Ruler of Droplets from his Deck to his hand. Next, he activated Stream’s effect by discarding Stream and Reactan. He Special Summoned Tidal from his Deck, and then combined Tidal with Blaster to Xyz Summon Chasma, Dragon Ruler of Auroras! Bracero used the effect of Heart of the Blue-Eyes to try to send Chasma to the Graveyard, and Bumbaugh Chained Chasma’s effect. He detached Tidal to send Tempest from his Deck to his Graveyard and copy the Tempest’s effect. He resolved it to add Red Rose Dragon from his Deck to his hand, and then the Heart of the Blue-Eyes’s effect resolved to send Chasma to the Graveyard and Special Summon the Heart of the Blue-Eyes to the field. Next, Bumbaugh Special Summoned Tempest from his Graveyard by banishing Droll & Lock Bird and Stream from his Graveyard. He Normal Summoned Red Rose Dragon next, and then Tuned Tempest with Red Rose Dragon to Synchro Summon Arms of Genex Return Zero. He used the effect of Red Rose Dragon to Special Summon Roxrose Dragon from his Deck and used Roxrose’s effect to add Basal Rose Shoot from his Deck to his hand. He flipped up his Triple Tactics Talent to draw Called by the Grave and Blaster from his Deck, then activated Basal Rose Shoot. He wanted to Special Summon Red Rose Dragon from his Graveyard, but Bracero used his Exodia Incarnate’s effect to try to negate the Basal Rose Shoot. Bumbaugh activated the effect of his Arms of Genex Return Zero by banishing the Red Rose from his Graveyard to negate the effect of the Exodia Incarnate and try to destroy it. Exodia Incarnate can’t be destroyed by card effects, and even though its effect that tried to negate the Basal Rose Shoot was negated, Bumbaugh no longer had anything to Special Summon with its effect since he banished his Red Rose Dragon! Bumbaugh entered his Battle Phase and attacked Golem that Guards the Millennium Treasures, destroying it in battle and dropping Bracero down to 6900 Life Points. Bumbaugh Set Called by the Grave in Main Phase 2 and then ended his turn. In the End Phase, Bracero Set Exxod Fires of Rage from his Deck with his Exodia Incarnate’s effect.
Bracero lost 1000 Life Points in his Standby Phase due to the effect of The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate and then activated Exxod Fires of Rage in his Main Phase. Bumbaugh Chained Called by the Grave to banish Golem from Bracero’s Graveyard, but all of Bumbaugh’s cards were destroyed! The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate attacked directly and its effect increased its ATK to 5900 before it inflicted damage. Then, a direct attack from Heart of the Blue-Eyes finished Bumbaugh off!
David Bracero wins the first Duel with The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate!
Duel Two
Bumbaugh opened up Duel 2 with Bystial Magnamhut; Tempest; Burner, Dragon Ruler of Sparks; and 2 copies of Black Metal Dragon. He Normal Summoned Black Metal Dragon and sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Striker Dragon. He activated his Black Metal Dragon’s effect to add Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Deck to his hand. He activated the effect of Bystial Magnamhut in his hand to Special Summon it by banishing Black Metal Dragon from his Graveyard. He used its on-field effect so that he could add a Dragon to his hand in the End Phase. Next, he sent Magnamhut and Striker Dragon to the Graveyard to Link Summon Dragunity Knight – Romulus. He used its effect to add Dragon Ravine from his Deck to his hand and then activated it. He used the effect of Dragon Ravine by discarding Tempest from his hand and sent Redox from his Deck to his Graveyard. He activated the effect of Burner from his hand next by discarding Burner and Black Metal Dragon, Special Summoning Blaster from his Deck. He activated Redox’s effect to Special Summon it from his Graveyard by banishing Black Metal Dragon and Striker Dragon from his Graveyard. He combined Redox with Blaster to Xyz Summon Chasma and then detached Blaster from it as an Xyz Material to send Tidal from his Deck to his Graveyard and copy its effect. He used that effect to send Koa’ki Meiru Drago from his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, he banished Magnamhut and Tempest from his Graveyard to activate Blaster’s effect in the Graveyard and Special Summon that Blaster back to the field. He banished Romulus from his field to Special Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his hand, then used the Darkness Metal Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Tidal. He combined Blaster with Tidal to Xyz Summon Eclipse, Dragon Ruler of Catastrophes. He used its effect to return Burner from his Graveyard to his Deck and Special Summon Blaster from his Deck. Next, he sent Blaster and Darkness Metal Dragon to the Graveyard to Link Summon Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres. In the End Phase, he added Spectral, Dragon Ruler of Flickers from his Deck to his hand with his Magnamhut’s effect.
Bracero drew a card and conceded, unable to mount a comeback.
The Match is going to a third and final Duel!
Duel Three
Bracero started off Duel 3 by activating Gravekeeper’s Inscription so that neither player would be able to banish cards from the Graveyard until the end of the next turn.
Then, he banished 6 cards from his Extra Deck face-down to activate Pot of Prosperity. He excavated the top 6 cards of his Deck and added Deck Lockdown from his Deck to his hand with its effect before returning the other 5 cards to his Deck. Next, he activated Millennium Ankh. He showed Bumbaugh the Left Leg of the Forbidden One from his hand and the other 4 pieces of Exodia in his Deck to Special Summon The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate. He Set a card to his back row, and then in the End Phase, he Set Obliterate!! from his Deck with Exodia Incarnate’s effect before passing his turn.
Bumbaugh opened up Duel 3 with Black Metal Dragon, Lightning Storm, Harpie’s Feather Duster, Triple Tactics Talent, and Redox. He drew Dragon Ravine for his turn and then activated Lightning Storm to try to destroy all of the cards in Bracero’s back row. Exodia Incarnate negated its activation, but then Bumbaugh activated Harpie’s Feather Duster to destroy all of the back row cards anyway! He activated Triple Tactics Talent to take control of The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate next, and then it was over moments later! He entered his Battle Phase, attacked with Exodia Incarnate, used its effect to increase its ATK to 8000, and finished the Duel!
