We’re down to the Top 4! All of these Duelists have secured their copy of Anotherverse Stratios, but only one can get the Ultra Rare version and the title of YCS Champion! We have YCS Champion Steven Trifunoski looking to take home another title with his Yummy Deck, facing Jaydon Evans with K9 Vanquish Soul. Evans traveled here from Tacoma, WA, and is playing in his first ever YCS! Top 4 is an excellent achievement already, but he wants to win it all!

Duel 1

Trifunoski won the dice roll and took the first turn. Evans had a hand of Nibiru the Primal Being, K9-17 Izuna, Vanquish Soul Dr. Mad Love, Reinforcement of the Army, and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.

Trifunoski played first, and Normal Summoned Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion. He Link Summoned Salamangreat Almiraj, then Special Summoned Cooky☆Yummy. He Synchro Summoned Cupsy★Yummy Way, and Evans negated it with Ash Blossom. Trifunoski Link Summoned Yummy★Snatchy, and its effect put Yummyusment☆Mignon on the field. He used Mignon’s effect to Special Summon Cooky, then Synchro Summoned Lollipo★Yummy Way. Its effect brought Cooky and Cupsy★Yummy Way to the field with their effects negated. He used them to Link Summon S:P Little Knight, Set one back row card, and passed.

Evans drew Stake your Soul!, and Normal Summoned K9-17 Izuna. He didn’t use its effect, because that would trigger either S:P Little Knight or Lollipo★Yummy Way. Instead, he moved to the Battle Phase. He sent Izuna to attack Lollipo★Yummy Way, and Trifunoski flipped Yummy☆Surprise to Special Summon Cooky, and Cooky reduced Izuna’s ATK. That triggered a replay, and Evans chose not to attack after all. In Main Phase 2, he played Stake Your Soul! revealing Mad Love, but Trifunoski had Ash Blossom. He passed with no other plays.

Trifunoski Special Summoned Cooky from his hand, reducing Izuna’s ATK. With Mignon increasing all his monsters’ ATK, he attacked with everything to end the first Duel!

Duel 2

Evans took the first turn this time, with a hand of Vanquish Soul Heavy Borger, Vanquish Soul Dr. Mad Love, Vanquish Soul Snow Devil, Pot of Extravagance, and Nibiru the Primal Being.

He started with Pot of Extravagance, banishing 6 cards from his Extra Deck to draw Vanquish Soul Razen and another Dr. Mad Love. He Normal Summoned Dr. Mad Love, and Trifunoski responded to its effect with Effect Veiler. Evans Chained Heavy Borger, hoping to return Dr. Mad Love to the hand, but Trifunoski had a second Effect Veiler! Dr. Mad Love was negated, then Heavy Borger hit the field and return Mad Love to the hand. Evans used Heavy Borger to Link Summon Rock of the Vanquisher. He used Rock’s effect to put Heavy Borger back in his hand, then Set Snow Devil.

Trifunoski played Obedience Schooled! He Special Summoned Cooky☆Yummy, Cupsy☆Yummy, and Lollipo☆Yummy with their effects negated, all in Attack Position. Evans responded with Rock of the Vanquisher’s effect to Special Summon Razen. Razen’s effect put Vanquish Soul Hollie Sue in his hand. He then returned Razen to the hand to Special Summon Heavy Borger. He activated its effect to draw his third Mad Love. He flipped up Snow Devil, revealing Razen, Mad Love, and Hollie Sue to get all three of its effects! Trifunoski responded with Yummy☆Surprise, bouncing Cupsy and Lollipo back to his hand, and Rock and Heavy Borger back to Evans’s hand. Snow Devil then let Evans Special Summon Mad Love and destroy Cooky. Trifunoski Normal Summoned Cupsy, which put Yummyusment★Acroquey in his hand. Evans now used Mad Love’s effect to return Cupsy to the hand, preventing an impending Link Summon. Trifunoski conceded the second Duel!

Duel 3

Evans’s final starting hand was D.D. Crow, Vanquish Soul Jiaolong, Vanquish Soul Caesar Valius, Heavy Borger, and Razen.

Trifunoski started the final Duel by Normal Summoning Cupsy, which put Yummy☆Surprise in his hand. He Link Summoned Snatchy, then played Yummyusment☆Mignon. He used its effect to Special Summon Cupsy from the Graveyard, and Synchro Summoned Cupsy★Yummy Way. Its effect put Cupsy and Cooky in his hand, and he discarded Cooky. He Link Summoned a new Snatchy, and its effect replaced his Field Spell with Yummyusment★Acroquey. He Special Summoned Cupsy from his hand, then Synchro Summoned Lollipo★Yummy Way. Its effect brought Cupsy and Cooky back to the field. Evans now used D.D. Crow to banish Yummyusment☆Mignon from Trifunoski’s Graveyard. Trifunoski responded with Lollipo★Yummy Way’s effect to tag out, then Chained Yummy☆Surprise to add Mignon from his Graveyard to his hand before it was banished. He Special Summoned Cupsy★Yummy Way and Snatchy from the Graveyard, then tuned Cupsy★Yummy Way to Cooky for Martial Metal Marcher. Marcher brought Cupsy★Yummy Way back to the field. He tuned Marcher to Cupsy for Herald of the Arc Light, then Special Summoned Lollipo from his hand. Lollipo shuffled D.D. Crow back into Evans’s Deck. He used Cupsy★Yummy Way and Lollipo for Ukanomitsune-no-Onari, which Set Yummy☆Surprise on the field. He Special Summoned Cooky from his hand, and passed the turn.

Evans drew Nibiru the Primal Being, which has a great habit of being one turn late. He Normal Summoned Razen and activated its effect to put a Vanquish Soul in his hand. Trifunoski Tributed his Herald to negate and destroy Razen, and Evans Chained Caesar Valius to Special Summon it and return Razen to the hand. Trifunoski Chained to that with Snatchy, tuning it to Cooky for Lollipo★Yummy Way. Razen was returned to the hand, but its effect was still negated. In a new Chain, Trifunoski activated Lollipo★Yummy Way and Acroquey targeting Caesar Valius. Evans responded with Heavy Borger, and Trifunoski responded with Lollipo★Yummy Way’s effect to tag out.

The Chain resolved, bringing Cooky and Snatchy to the field. Caesar Valius was returned to the hand and Heavy Borger hit the field. Cupsy and Cupsy★Yummy Way were also Summoned, with their effects negated. Now, Cooky targeted Heavy Borger for destruction – Evans responded to that with Heavy Borger, revealing two monsters to inflict 1500 damage. He then Chained to that with Nibiru! Not a turn late after all. Trifunoski responded with Snatchy’s effect, tuning Cupsy★Yummy Way to Cooky for THE Star Ham. Trifunoski received a 5600/4300 Primal Being Token, as Nibiru wiped out all the monsters. Evans activated Jiaolong’s effect in the hand (since he’d used Heavy Borger), and Trifunoski activated Acroquey’s effect to Special Summon a Yummy. He Special Summoned Cupsy, and Evans Special Summoned Jialong. Cupsy’s effect then put Yummy☆Surprise in Trifunoski’s hand. He then flipped up another Yummy☆Surprise to Special Summon Snatchy, and used Snatchy’s effect to Synchro Summon Cooky★Yummy Way! Its effect flipped Nibiru and Jialong face-down, preventing Evans from advancing his field! He offered the handshake!
