What is a “Remote Duel”?
Are you new to “Remote Duels” for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME or confused about how this weekend’s Remote Duel YCS works? Here’s everything you need to know!
In a Remote Duel for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, players can compete against one another from anywhere in the world! All they need is a video feed, a stable internet connection, and the ability to communicate with other Remote Duel participants. This weekend’s tournament is taking place in a Discord server, so players will need to create an account with Discord in order to compete.
If you’re competing in a Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Remote Duel, you’ll need a camera that points to your field of cards so that your opponent can see it. Everything that’s going on in the Duel is visible on that feed, so it’s just like Dueling in person!
This weekend’s Remote Duel YCS awards prizing that is nearly identical to the prizing awarded at an in-person YCS, including the Ultra Rare Anotherverse Stratios prize card and special trophy for first place! The winner will also receive a GIANT Card of their choice and a variety of other prizes that players have become accustomed to winning at in-person YCS events. Top-finishing Duelists will also receive special promotional cards with a “YCS” logo stamped on them, including Effect Veiler for the Top 16 and Card Trooper for the Top 32.
Some Official Tournament Stores also host Remote Duel tournaments regularly. Be sure to join them if you want to experience the thrill of competitive Dueling without leaving your home.
