Round 12 Feature Match: Omar Ramos vs. Jordan Sans Miles Ochoa
We’re in the final Swiss round of Day 2 here at TEAM YCS Las Vegas! Only 8 teams will make it to the Top Cut, so these Duelists will have to keep winning just to have a chance to make it. In this Feature Match, we have two teams that currently have 8-3 records; even though they may not be guaranteed a spot in the Top 8, they’re still competing for Top 8 and Top 16 prizing! Jordan Sans Miles Ochoa of Team Saltine, Ritz, and the Cheez-it and his Mitsurugi Deck will be facing off against Omar Ramos of Team Deadbeats and his Fiendsmith Yummy Deck.
Duel 1
Ramos won the die roll and chose to go first! He began Special Summoning Marshmao☆Yummy, then using it to Link Summon Yummy☆Snatchy and place Yummyusment☆Mignon to the field. He used Mignon to Special Summon back Marshmao, then used Snatchy and Marshmao to Synchro Summon Cupsy☆Yummy Way. He searched for Cupsy☆Yummy and Cooky☆Yummy then discarded the Cooky. He then Special Summoned Cupsy and searched for Yummy☆Surprise! Next, he activated Surprise, Special Summoning Marshmao and adding Surprise back to hand, used Marshmao to Link Summon Linkuriboh, then Normal Summoned Lacrima the Crimson Tears! He used Lacrima’s effect to send Fiendsmith Engraver to the Graveyard, then used Lacrima to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem, but when he activated its effect, Miles Chained Dominus Impulse!

From here, Ramos used Cupsy and Linkuriboh to Synchro Summon Lollipo☆Yummy Way and Special Summon back Cooky and Marshmao. He used Lollipo☆Yummy Way and Marshmao to Link Summon Reprodocus, used Reprodocus’ effect to turn Cooky into a Fiend, then used Reprodocus and Cooky to LInk Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence! He activated Sequence’s effect to Special Summon Fiendsmith’s Lacrima and add Fiendsmith Engraver back to hand, then discarded Engraver to search for Fiendsmith’s Tract. He used Tract to search for and discard Fabled Lurrie, Special Summoned back Lurrie to the field, then used Lurrie and Sequence to Link Summon S:P Little Knight! He returned Sequence to the Extra Deck to Special Summon back Engraver, then used Engraver and Fiendsmith’s Lacrima to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave High King Caesar. Finally, he Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn.
Miles looked down at his hand of Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Aramasa, Mitsurugi Mirror, Mitsurugi Ritual, and Ame no Murakumo no Mitsurugi. He drew a card for turn, but knew that he wouldn’t be able to break through Ramos’ board, and conceded the first Duel.

Duel 2
Miles opened with Called by the Grave, Infinite Impermanence, Lamia, Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Kusanagi, and Mitsurugi Ritual. He started by Normal Summoning Lamia and activating its effect, but was met by Ramos’ Infinite Impermanence! He Set two cards to his backrow and ended his turn.

Ramos started off by activating the effect of Fiendsmith Engraver, discarding it to search for Fiendsmith’s Tract. He activated Tract, searching for Lacrima the Crimson Tears and discarding Yummyusment☆Mignon, then Normal Summoned Lacrima and sent another Engraver to the Graveyard. He used Lacrima to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem, then Special Summoned one of his Engravers from the Graveyard by shuffling the other one back to the Deck. Ramos proceeded to the Battle Phase, using Engraver to attack Lamia, then attacked directly with Requiem. In Main Phase 2, Ramos activated the effect of Requiem, but Miles Chained Called by the Grave, banishing Requiem! Ramos Set two cards to his backrow and ended his turn.
MIles drew Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Saji for turn! He Normal Summoned Saji and attempted to activate its effect, but Ramos Chained Dominus Purge! Miles then ended his turn.
Ramos started his next turn by banishing Tract from his Graveyard, using one Engraver from each his hand and field to Fusion Summon Fiendsmith’s Lacrima. However, when he activated its effect, Miles responded with Infinite Impermanence! Ramos entered the Battle Phase and attacked Miles’ Life Points directly with Lacrima. Then in Main Phase 2, he Normal Summoned Effect Veiler, and used Veiler and Lacrima to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence. He activated Sequence’s effect, Fusion Summoning Fiendsmith’s Desirae, then equipped Sequence to Desirae and ended his turn.
Miles drew another Lamia for turn! He Normal Summoned it and activated its effect, but Ramos Chained the effect of Desirae to negate it, so Miles ended his turn.
Ramos began his turn by immediately proceeding to the Battle Phase and attacking Lamia with Desirae, then ended his turn.
Miles drew Forbidden Droplet for turn. He Normal Summoned Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Kusanagi and activated its effect. Ramos Chained Desirae’s effect, Miles Chained Forbidden Droplet to negate Desirae’s effect, but Ramos followed up with Effect Veiler to ensure that Kusanagi’s effect was negated! Miles entered the Battle Phase and attacked Desirae with Kusanagi and ended his turn.
Ramos Special Summoned Engraver from the Graveyard by returning Fiendsmith’s Sequence to the Extra Deck, then attacked Kusanagi with Engraver before ending his turn.
Miles drew a card for turn, but it wasn’t something he was able to use. Miles decided to concede.
