Chaos Origins & Glorious Gallery Points Update

This points update will cover the initial point costs assigned to new cards introduced in Chaos Origins and Battles of Legend: Glorious Gallery.

Just so everyone knows the schedule, the Central America Genesys Championship (at the WCQ) has happened, but we’re actually writing this before the South America or North America Genesys Championships (so the South American one, when you read this, has happened for you, but not for us as we write this). These values do not take these events into account since two haven’t happened yet (for us) and we don’t want to alter the results too much based on a single event (which, for us, just happened, and we’re still combing over the results). But we also wanted this out before the Chaos Origins Premiere! Event (June 26-28) so you’d have a better idea what cards to trade for, so squeezing this into the schedule was very tight!

Battles of Legend: Glorious Gallery
These should be fairly self-explanatory. It’s cards that get you cards (that can get you more cards) and/or can replace copies of cards that already cost points. Remember that this doesn’t take the WCQs into account, so it’s likely the Constellar/Tellarknights will go up in July/early August, especially if they have a repeat performance of how they did in Mexico.

Constellar Castor -> 6
Tellarknight Cygnian -> 6
Tellarknight Constellar Delteros -> 10
Lev Shaddoll Fusion -> 10
Void Unleashing -> 10
Masked HERO Fountain -> 6
Junk Meister -> 6
Over Tuning -> 10

Chaos Origins
We expect the new cards inspired by Yugi’s Duel against Pegasus to be a powerhouse in the Advanced Format. In the interest of increasing the diversity between formats, which is what the player feedback has been telling us you want, we’ve pumped up the challenge level of bringing the Deck to Genesys.

Black Chaos -> 20
Griffoh -> 10
Celtic Mystic -> 20
Light and Darkness Ritual -> 5
Mind Shuffle -> 40

Invoked and Phantom Knights are classic strategies that we think players would like to see become part of the Genesys landscape, but they need a bit more help than say, Red Dragon Archfiend. The Rank-Up-Magic gets a point due to being a Rank-Up-Magic.

Aleister the Reminiscent -> 4
Aiwass, Divine Spirit of the Law -> 2
Virakam, the Divine Spirit of Artifice -> 2
Hyperinvoked Aeon -> 15
The Phantom Knights of Decayed Cloak -> 4
The Phantom Knights of Doomed Sorelet -> 5
The Phantom Knights of Malevolent Scythe -> 12
The Phantom Knights’ Rank-Up-Magic Requiem -> 1

Sacred Beasts are cool! There’s a bit of danger from the self-multiplying cards and Summoner of the Sacred Beasts is a bit of a “do everything” card that you don’t even need to Summon to get good work out of, but you’ll have plenty of points to play around with.

Summoner of the Sacred Beasts -> 5
Martyr of the Sacred Beasts -> 2
Sacred Beasts Thunderclap -> 2
Abyss of the Sacred Beasts -> 1

The Gadgets are sadly a bit overmatched by today’s cards, but Blitzclique is good at scratching the itch for that particular brand of yesterday’s gameplay.

Surge Blitzclique -> 4
Crackle Blitzclique -> 4
Hideout in the Sky, Columb -> 5

Like in Blazing Dominion, Medius-related cards received additional scrutiny.

Elfnote June Pride -> 25
Theorealize Past Lull -> 5

Angelechy Destrier is another card that can go infinite with a certain 100-point Synchro Monster.

Angelechy Destrier -> 1

Chaos Origins is also home to a whole host of powerful free agent cards that will hit the market with points attached. You’ve got Extra Deck monsters that get you more cards, a new “Pot” Spell, and even a monster that does a pretty good impression of Called by the Grave in Phara the Primordial Goddess.

Phara the Primordial Goddess -> 20
Glitch Clutch Nullgainer -> 10
Pot of Sloth -> 10
Ragged Records of Rites -> 10
Superconductive Plasma Blast -> 5
Witness of the Ancient -> 33
Thundercrash Snarecrow -> 10
Mortilux Heruvur -> 20
The Three Champions of Swordsoul -> 10

Chaos Origins is a heck of a set! We hope you pull some really cool cards at the Premiere! events this weekend, including some of the first new extended art cards!
