Final Round Feature Match: Omar Beldon vs. Billy Brake
Two Duelists remain in this tournament: Omar Beldon with Infernities, and Billy Brake with X-Sabers. In a matter of minutes we would have a new YCS Winner!
Beldon opened the Match with a Set monster and a Set card to his Spell & Trap Card Zone.
Brake had Giant Trunade, XX-Saber Faultroll, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, Book of Moon, Heavy Storm, and Trap Stun. He Set Trap Stun, Set Book, and ended.
Beldon Set another monster on his turn.
Brake drew Gold Sarcophagus, activated it, and removed Summoner Monk from his Deck so he could claim it in 2 turns from now.
Beldon activated Heavy Storm, destroying his own Bottomless Trap Hole, plus Brake’s Trap Stun and Book of Moon. Beldon next activated Infernity Launcher, Set 2 cards to his back row, discarded Infernity Archfiend, Flip Summoned Infernity Necromancer, and brought back Archfiend with Necromancer to get Infernity Avenger from his Deck. A few moments and a few Infernity Launchers later, he controlled Infernity Doom Dragon, Hundred-Eyes Dragon, Mist Wurm, Infernity Avenger, and Infernity Archfiend, getting Infernity Barrier with the last Archfiend. He Set it, then Tuned Avenger to Archfiend for Ally of Justice Catastor. Hundred-Eyes Dragon removed Infernity Necromancer to mimic its effect, and Beldon brought back Archfiend to get another Barrier. Archfiend attacked, then Catastor, and Brake Summoned Gorz the Emissary of Darkness and an Emissary of Darkness Token. Mist Wurm and Hundred–Eyes attacked, and Brake conceded moments later.
Some fancy plays with Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Necromancer get Omar Beldon the Tuner he desperately needed, and from there it was all academic! Omar Beldon is now just 1 win away from taking the Championship.
Brake opened Duel 2 with XX-Saber Boggart Knight, D.D. Crow, Mystical Space Typhoon, Dust Tornado, Book of Moon, and Mind Crush. He Summoned Boggart Knight, didn’t activate its effect, and Set Book and Dust Tornado.
Beldon Set a monster, then Set 4 cards to his Spell & Trap Card Zone! He lost his Solemn Judgment to Dust Tornado in the End Phase.
Brake drew XX-Saber Fulhelmknight. Boggart Knight attacked, hitting Beldon’s Infernity Necromancer, which remained on the field due to its high DEF. Brake then Summoned XX-Saber Fulhelmknight. He Set Mind Crush and Mystical Space Typhoon and ended his turn.
Beldon flipped Infernity Inferno, discarding Book of Moon to send Infernity Archfiend from his Deck to his Graveyard. He Set a monster, then activated Necromancer’s effect. Brake Chained D.D. Crow’s effect, and Beldon Chained Hero’s Rule 2 to block the Crow! Archfiend hit the field when the Chain resolved, and Beldon got Infernity Barrier from his Deck. He Set it, then attacked Fulhelmknight with Archfiend to use up Fulhelmknight’s one attack negation. Brake blasted Beldon’s face-down Torrential Tribute in the End Phase with Mystical Space Typhoon.
Brake drew X-Saber Airbellum. He Summoned it, Tuned it to Boggart Knight, and Synchro Summoned XX-Saber Urbellum. Still in Main Phase 1, Brake activated Book of Moon, targeting Infernity Archfiend. Fulhelmknight attacked it, destroyed it, and Special Summoned Boggart Knight. Urbellum then attacked to destroy the Necromancer, but when Boggart Knight attacked Beldon’s last face-down monster, it turned out to be another Necromancer, and remained on the field!
“You are the luckiest person in the world,” commented Brake, seeing his impending loss approaching.
Next turn, Beldon activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Brake’s Set Mind Crush! Necromancer brought back Infernity Archfiend, Beldon Summoned it, and Synchro Summoned Hundred-Eyes Dragon! He mimicked Infernity Necromancer’s effect with the Dragon’s ability, brought back Infernity Archfiend, and Brake conceded!
Omar Beldon is our newest Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Winner!

Normally, when an X-Saber Duelist activated Gold Sarcophagus in this tournament, he went straight for Rescue Cat. Brake played differently in the first Duel of this Match, instead going for Summoner Monk. With Giant Trunade, Heavy Storm, and Trap Stun in-hand, Brake had at least 1 extra Spell Card he probably wouldn’t need, and picking Summoner Monk would open up a range of plays Rescue Cat couldn’t make on its own. The Monk wouldn’t just let Brake Summon Arcanite Magician – it also gave him the option to bring out Thunder King Rai-Oh.

In Duel 2, Beldon used Hero’s Rule 2 to negate the effect of Brake’s D.D. Crow and resolve the effect of his Infernity Necromancer. Hero’s Rule 2 is a great card for Infernity Duelists to Side Deck since it thwarts the opponent’s attempts to disrupt the Infernity Duelist’s Graveyard with cards like D.D. Crow, Crevice into the Different Dimension, and The Transmigration Prophecy after Side Decking.
