Heading into Round 6, Brenden Beckmann is undefeated with his Gravekeeper Deck. His opponent is X-Saber Duelist Rob Cedar.  Beckmann runs Doomcaliber Knight and Thunder King Rai-Oh, and they may give him an edge against Cedar’s X-Sabers.

Cedar opened the Match with Rescue Cat, using it to Special Summon X-Saber Airbellum and XX-Saber Darksoul right off the bat! He Set 2 cards to his back row, Synchro Summoned XX-Saber Hyunlei, and ended, getting XX-Saber Faultroll from his Deck.

Beckmann’s hand was Book of Moon, Doomcaliber Knight, Gravekeeper’s Priestess, Dimensional Prison, Dark Bribe, and Thunder King Rai-Oh. He Summoned Doomcaliber, attacked, and Cedar responded with Gottoms’ Emergency Call! He Special Summoned Airbellum and Darksoul in Defense Position, Beckmann replayed his attack to attack Airbellum, and Cedar flipped Book of Moon to stop the attack entirely. Beckmann ended his turn by Setting 2 cards to his back row.

Cedar Summoned another Hyunlei, targeted both of Beckmann’s Set cards, and destroyed Dark Bribe while Beckmann Chained Book of Moon to turn Hyunlei face-down. He conceded just moments later as Cedar Summoned XX-Saber Darksoul.

Some early losses lead to a quick concession from Brenden Beckmann, and Rob Cedar is now just a single victory away from a 6-0 record! Both Duelists made ample use of their Side Decks before starting the second Duel.

Beckmann’s hand for the second Duel was Gravekeeper’s Spy, Bottomless Trap Hole, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Doomcaliber Knight 2 copies of Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. He Set Bottomless and Summoned Doomcaliber, a strong opening.

Cedar Normal Summoned XX-Saber Darksoul, blew Doomcaliber away with Saber Slash, and attacked for 100 damage!

Beckmann drew Royal Oppression, Summoned Thunder King, and attacked Darksoul to stop Cedar from searching his Deck.

Cedar Summoned Thunder King himself next turn, lost it to Bottomless Trap Hole, and ended.

Beckmann was visibly gaining momentum, and after drawing Gravekeeper’s Commandant, he Normal Summoned Fossil Dyna and attacked with both monsters to drop Cedar to 3100 Life Points! Cedar drew for his next turn and conceded after a moment’s hesitation.

Cedar Set a monster, a much more conservative opening than his previous ones.

Beckmann had Dimensional Prison, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Dark Bribe, Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, and 2 Doomcaliber Knights. He Summoned a Knight, attacked into X-Saber Pashuul, and Set 2 cards to his back row.

Cedar activated Brain Control, and Beckmann negated it with Dark Bribe. Cedar drew a card for Dark Bribe’s effect, Normal Summoned XX-Saber Emmersblade, and activated D.D. Crow to eliminate Doomcaliber Knight. Emmersblade attacked and Beckmann removed it with Dimensional Prison.

Beckmann drew, Cedar took 1000 damage from Pashuul in the Standby Phase, and Set Fossil Dyna.

Cedar Set another monster, then Set a card to his Spell and Trap Card Zone.

Beckmann drew Book of Moon, holding Doomcaliber Knight, Gravekeeper’s Descendant, and Thunder King Rai-Oh. He Summoned Thunder King, attacked, and hit XX-Saber Darksoul to keep Cedar from getting Darksoul’s effect! He Set Book to end his turn.

Cedar Summoned Sangan, Tuned it to Pashuul, and Synchro Summoned Ally of Justice Catastor, losing out on his Sangan search due to Thunder King’s presence on the field. Catastor attacked Thunder King, Beckmann stopped the attack with Book of Moon, and Catastor flipped face-down.

Beckmann drew Doomcaliber Knight, Summoned it, and attacked Catastor. A direct attack from Thunder King followed, knocking Cedar down to 3300 ATK. Beckmann still had that Fossil Dyna Set.

Cedar Summoned Fulhelmknight next turn, attacked Fossil Dyna and bounced off with a tied DEF.

Beckmann drew Royal Tribute. He Summoned Gravekeeper’s Descendant, attacked with Doomcaliber Knight, and Tributed it to try and negate Fulhelmknight’s effect. But Cedar discarded Darksoul for Divine Wrath, keeping his Fulhelmknight on the field. But Thunder King attacked to destroy it, and Descendant made a direct attack. Beckmann Set Royal Tribute.

Cedar Summoned XX-Saber Boggart Knight, attacked Descendant, and ended. The Duel stood at 7600 Life Points to 1200, with Beckmann seemingly poised to win.

Next turn he drew Book of Moon. He turned Fossil Dyna to attack, traded off his Thunder King to destroy Boggart Knight in battle, and attacked for victory with Fossil Dyna!

Brenden Beckmann defeats Rob Cedar, as Gravekeepers triumph over X-Sabers and Beckman moves on undefeated, a strong shot for a Top 16 qualification.
