Jason Grabher-Meyer (The Old Man of Dueling)
In Duel 1, Mijares could’ve won by negating Garcia’s Summon of Sirocco with Solemn Judgment. Without Sirocco on the field, Garcia wouldn’t be able to attack over Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, and he couldn’t have activated Icarus Attack: the 2 plays that let him steal the first Duel. Mijares had Seven Tools of the Bandit Set to negate any Trap that could stop his attack next turn, so he didn’t need to save Judgment.
Michael Kohanim (2009 World Championship Competitor)
In Mijares’s final turn of Duel 1, he actually would have won if he had attacked Blackwing – Sirocco the Dawn with Machina Fortress before attacking Blackwing – Bora the Spear with Machina Gearframe. This way, if Garcia activated his Icarus Attack by Tributing a Blackwing, Machina Fortress would still be able to take out the remaining Blackwing, and Machina Gearframe would score a direct attack to finish the Duel!
