Christopher Rodriguez and Daniel Naputi are both 5-2 in the tournament with their Gravekeeper’s Decks. Naputi is running a standard Gravekeeper’s Deck, and Rodriguez is running a Burn Deck with Necrovalley and Gravekeeper’s Commandant in it.

Rodriguez opened up with Solemn Judgment, Skill Drain, Wave-Motion Cannon, Battle Fader, Necrovalley, and Level Limit – Area B. He activated Level Limit and Wave-Motion Cannon and then Set 2 cards to his back row.

Naputi Summoned Gravekeeper’s Recruiter and activated Necrovalley. Then he attacked directly with Gravekeeper’s Recruiter, dropping Rodriguez down to 6300 Life Points. He Set a card in his back row before ending his turn.

Rodriguez Normal Summoned Cyber Valley next turn, but Naputi activated Solemn Warning and paid 2000 Life Points to negate the Summon. Rodriguez ended his turn.

Naputi attacked directly with Gravekeeper’s Recruiter again next turn. Then he Summoned Gravekeeper’s Descendant. It switched into Defense Position due to Level Limit, and then he Tributed Gravekeeper’s Recruiter to try to destroy Wave-Motion Cannon with Descendant’s effect. But Rodriguez flipped Skill Drain and negated the effect. Naputi searched his Deck for another copy of Recruiter and added it to his hand with the effect of his previous Recruiter.

Rodriguez drew Starlight Road and passed.

Naputi Summoned another copy of Gravekeeper’s Recruiter next turn and attacked directly with it, dropping Rodriguez down to 1900 Life Points. Then he activated Pot of Duality and added Book of Moon to his hand.

Rodriguez activated Pot of Duality next turn to grab a Messenger of Peace from his Deck and activated it.

Naputi drew and passed.

Rodriguez drew Gravekeeper’s Guard next turn. 4 Standby Phases had passed since Rodriguez activated Wave-Motion Cannon.

Naputi pitched a Gravekeeper’s Commandant to grab a Necrovalley from his Deck and passed.

Rodriguez drew a card and ended his turn.

Naputi was unable to make a play in his next turn. He conceded, knowing that Rodriguez would be able to launch his Wave-Motion Cannon for 6000 points of damage in his next turn, finishing him off.

Naputi started things off by activating Pot of Duality and revealing Book of Moon, Dark Hole, and Gravekeeper’s Assailant from the top of his Deck. He added Book of Moon to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. He Set a monster and 2 back rows, ending his turn.

Rodriguez opened up with Thunder King Rai-Oh, Wave-Motion Cannon, Messenger of Peace, Pot of Duality, Level Limit – Area B, and Battle Fader. He activated Pot of Duality to add Final Countdown from the top of his Deck to his hand and then activated it by paying 2000 Life Points. He Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and then activated Messenger of Peace, Wave-Motion Cannon, and Level Limit. He ended his turn.

Naputi Summoned Gravekeeper’s Recruiter next turn and attacked and destroyed Rodriguez’s Defense Position Thunder King Rai-Oh. He activated Pot of Duality in Main Phase 2, revealing Mystical Space Typhoon, Book of Moon, and Effect Veiler from the top of his Deck. He took the Mystical Space Typhoon and Set it.

Rodriguez drew and activated Pot of Duality next turn, revealing Dark Bribe, Gravekeeper’s Guard, and Battle Fader from the top of his Deck. He took the Dark Bribe and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. He Set Dark Bribe and then lost his Level Limit to Mystical Space Typhoon in his End Phase.

Naputi Normal Summoned Gravekeeper’s Descendant. He Tributed Recruiter to destroy Wave-Motion Cannon and then searched his Deck for Gravekeeper’s Commandant with his Recruiter’s effect. Next, he flipped another Recruiter face-up, and Tributed it to destroy Messenger of Peace. He used that Recruiter’s effect to search his Deck for another Gravekeeper’s Commandant and add it to his hand. He pitched the Commandant to take Necrovalley from his Deck and activated it before attacking directly with Gravekeeper’s Commandant.

Rodriguez drew Skill Drain and Set it.

Naputi attacked next turn, but Rodriguez Special Summoned Battle Fader from his hand to block the attacks.

Rodriguez drew and Set Morphing Jar.

Naputi activated Nobleman of Crossout to remove Morphing Jar from the Duel. Then he Summoned Gravekeeper’s Commandant. Gravekeeper’s Recruiter attacked and destroyed the Defense Position Battle Fader, and then Commandant and Descendant attacked directly to finish the Duel! Rodriguez only made it to turn 8 on the Final Countdown count.

Rodriguez opened up with Morphing Jar, Gravekeeper’s Commandant, Wave-Motion Cannon, Skill Drain, Torrential Tribute, and Dark Hole. He pitched the Commandant to search his Deck for a copy of Necrovalley to add to his hand. Then he activated it. Next, he Set Morphing Jar, along with the rest of his cards.

Naputi activated Pot of Duality, revealing Pot of Duality and 2 copies of Book of Moon from the top of his Deck. He took the Book of Moon and then Set 3 cards to his back row. Next, he Summoned Gravekeeper’s Commandant and attacked the Morphing Jar. Naputi discarded Mirror Force and Gravekeeper’s Stele, and both players drew 5 cards. Naputi Set another card in his back row in Main Phase 2 before ending his turn.

Rodriguez had Gold Sarcophagus, Level Limit, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Gravity Bind, Messenger of Peace, and Wall of Revealing Light in his hand. He activated Gold Sarcophagus to remove Wave-Motion Cannon from his Deck to reclaim it in 2 turns. He activated Dark Hole next, destroying Naputi’s Commandant. Next, he Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and attacked directly, dropping Naputi down to 6100 Life Points. Rodriguez activated Messenger of Peace in Main Phase 2 and then ended his turn.

Naputi activated Dark Hole to destroy Thunder King Rai-Oh and then activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Messenger of Peace. He Summoned Gravekeeper’s Descendant next, but lost it to Rodriguez’s Torrential Tribute.

Rodriguez drew Dark Bribe next turn. He Set Dark Bribe and Wall of Revealing Light, ending his turn.

Naputi Summoned another copy of Descendant. He tried to attack, but Rodriguez flipped Wall of Revealing Light and paid 3000 Life Points to prevent monsters with 3000 or less ATK from attacking him.

Rodriguez grabbed Wave-Motion Cannon from his removed-from-play pile in his next Standby Phase and activated it.

Naputi Summoned Gravekeeper’s Commandant and ended his turn.

Rodriguez drew and Summon Cyber Valley next turn. 1 Standby Phases had passed on one of the Cannons, and 3 had passed on the other.

Naputi Summoned Gravekeeper’s Recruiter next turn.

Rodriguez launched one of the Wave-Motion Cannons for 4000 points of damage on his next turn, dropping Naputi down to 2100 Life Points.

Naputi Synchro Summoned Red Dragon Archfiend next turn by Normal Summoning Effect Veiler and Tuning it with Gravekeeper’s Recruiter and Gravekeeper’s Descendant, but it was no use. Red Dragon Archfiend couldn’t attack through the Wall of Revealing Light, and Rodriguez was able to launch his other Wave-Motion Cannon on the next turn to finish Naputi off.
