His opponent, Jacob Zavala, is playing Blackwings. The quick destruction effects that Blackwing Decks are capable of may make this a tough matchup for Dibble, but with some strong use of the field-clearing effect of Elemental Hero Absolute Zero, he may be able to pull off a victory.

Dibble opened up with Genex Undine, Fortune Lady Water, Fishborg Blaster, Elemental Hero Ice Edge, Dark Hole, and Miracle Fusion. He Summoned the Undine to kick a Treeborn Frog from his Deck to his Graveyard and add a Genex Controller from his Deck to his hand.

Zavala Summoned Blackwing – Shura the Blue Flame and used it to attack over Genex Undine, destroying it in battle. Shura recruited Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor from Zavala’s Deck, and Zavala attacked directly with it, dropping Dibble down to 6600 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Zavala Set a card to his back row and Tuned Vayu with Shura to Synchro Summon Magical Android. He gained 600 Life Points in his End Phase thanks to the effect of Magical Android.

Dibble drew Battle Fader next turn. He Special Summoned Treeborn Frog in his Standby Phase and then Normal Summoned Fishborg Blaster. Zavala flipped Book of Moon to put the Treeborn Frog face-down before Dibble could perform a Synchro Summon, leaving the Fishborg Blaster in Attack Position.

Zavala activated Pot of Duality next turn, revealing Blackwing – Sirocco the Dawn, Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow, and Black Whirlwind from the top of his Deck. He grabbed the Whirlwind and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. He activated the Whirlwind next, and Normal Summoned Blackwing – Bora the Spear, triggering the Whirlwind’s effect. He searched his Deck for a Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North and added it to his hand. Zavala attacked Fishborg Blaster with Magical Android next, and then attacked Treeborn Frog with Bora, dropping Dribble down to 2700 Life Points. Zavala Set a card to his back row and then ended his turn, gaining another 600 Life Points thanks to his Android’s effect.

Dibble drew another copy of Miracle Fusion next turn. He Special Summoned Treeborn Frog in his Standby Phase and then pitched a Genex Controller from his hand to Special Summon Fishborg from his Graveyard. He Tuned his 2 monsters together to Synchro Summon Formula Synchron in Defense Position, and drew Gold Sarcophagus from the top of his Deck with its effect. Next, he activated Gold Sarcophagus, removing Fortune’s Future from his Deck to reclaim it in 2 turns. He Summoned Fortune Lady Water next, and Tuned it with Formula Synchron to Synchro Summon Goyo Guardian. Goyo attacked and destroyed Magical Android, and Dibble took control of it in Defense Position. Dibble gained 600 Life Points from Android’s effect and play passed to Zavala.

Zavala activated Allure of Darkness next turn to draw 2 cards and remove Sirocco from his hand. Next, he Tributed his Bora to Normal Summon a Sirocco, triggering his Whirlwind. Zavala searched his Deck for Gale with Whirlwind’s effect, and then Special Summoned it to the field. He Special Summoned Bora next, and activated Sirocco’s effect to pile everyone’s ATK onto Bora. Bora’s ATK was boosted to 5000! Zavala attacked Dibble’s Defense Position Magical Android with Bora, inflicting exactly 3300 points of damage to Dibble’s Life Points – just enough to finish him off!

He activated Gold Sarcophagus to remove Future Fusion from his Deck so that he could reclaim it in 2 turns. He Set Fortune Lady Water before ending his turn.

Zavala Summoned Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North and attacked Dibble’s face-down Fortune Lady Water, destroying it in battle. He Set 2 cards to his back row and ended his turn.

Dibble drew Allure of Darkness next turn and activated it. He drew Reinforcement of the Army and Legendary Jujitsu Master from the top of his Deck, and then removed a Destiny Hero – Malicious in his hand from play. He Set Legendary Jujitsu Master and passed.

Zavala activated Pot of Duality next turn, revealing Trap Dustshoot, Blackwing – Shura the Blue Flame, and Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor from the top of his Deck. He added the Shura to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Next, he attacked Dibble’s face-down Legendary Jujitsu Master with Blizzard, losing 500 Life Points and sending Blizzard to the top of his Deck. Zavala Set a card to his back row and ended his turn.

Dibble drew Fairy Wind next turn and then added Future Fusion to his hand in the Standby Phase. He activated it, but Zavala Chained Solemn Warning and gave up 2000 Life Points to negate it. Dibble Set Fairy Wind and ended his turn.

Zavala activated Dark Hole to destroy Legendary Jujitsu Master and then Normal Summoned Shura. Shura attacked directly, dropping Dibble down to 6200 Life Points.

Dibble drew Destiny Draw next turn! He activated it and discarded Destiny Hero – Malicious to draw Battle Fader and Fortune Lady Water from his Deck. Play passed to Zavala.

Zavala attacked directly with Shura next turn, dropping Dibble down to 4400 Life Points. Zavala Set a third card to his back row and passed.

Dibble drew Genex Undine next turn. He activated Reinforcement of the Army to search his Deck for Elemental Hero Stratos and Summoned it to the field. He activated its effect to add a copy of Destiny Hero – Diamond Dude from his Deck to his hand. Dibble ended his turn without attacking Shura. In his End Phase, Zavala flipped Icarus Attack, Tributing Shura to destroy Dibble’s Stratos and face-down Fairy Wind.

Zavala Normal Summoned Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North next turn, and activated its effect to Special Summon Shura from his Graveyard. Then he Special Summoned Bora from his hand. Next, he Tuned Blizzard with Shura to Synchro Summon Goyo Guardian. Bora declared a direct attack, but Dibble Special Summoned Battle Fader from his hand to block it and end the Battle Phase. Zavala ended his turn.

Dibble drew Monster Reborn next turn! He Summoned Genex Controller from his hand and then activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Fortune Lady Water from his Graveyard. Dibble Tuned Fortune Lady Water with Genex Controller to Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon and activated its effect, destroying Zavala’s Goyo Guardian, Bora, Icarus Attack, and Chain Disappearance.

Zavala activated Monster Reborn next turn to revive his Goyo Guardian. He attacked directly with Goyo and Set a card to his back row.

Dibble drew Legendary Jujitsu Master and Set it.

Zavala activated Pot of Duality next turn, adding a Shura from his Deck to his hand and shuffling the other 2 revealed cards back into his Deck.

Dibble Summoned Destiny Hero – Diamond Dude on his next turn, but lost out to Zavala’s Solemn Warning. With only 1600 Life Points remaining, Dibble conceded, knowing Zavala’s Shura would finish him off next turn.
