Both of these Decks have speed and control, giving neither one of them too big of an advantage in this Matchup.

Santos opened up with Trap Stun, Reinforce Truth, XX-Saber Boggart Knight, Book of Moon, Mirror Force, and Dark Hole. He Set Reinforce Truth and Book of Moon before ending his turn.

Brake Summoned Lonefire Blossom and Tributed it to Special Summon another copy from his Deck, then Tributed that one to Special Summon Dandylion in Attack Position. Brake attacked with Dandylion, dropping Santos down to 7700 Life Points. Brake Set 3 cards in his back row before ending his turn. In Brake’s End Phase, Santos flipped Reinforce Truth to Special Summon X-Saber Pashuul from his Deck in Defense Position.

Santos drew another copy of Boggart Knight next turn. He Set Mirror Force and Trap Stun, then ended his turn. In Santos’s End Phase, Brake flipped Dust Tornado to destroy the newly Set Trap Stun.

Brake drew a card and then Santos lost 1000 Life Points in his Standby Phase due to the effect of Pashuul.

Santos drew X-Saber Pashuul next turn. He Normal Summoned Boggart Knight and then Tuned it with Pashuul in an attempt to Summon XX-Saber Hyunlei; but Brake flipped Solemn Warning and gave up 2000 Life Points to negate the Summon!

Brake attacked directly with Dandylion on his next turn, dropping Santos down to 6400 Life Points. He Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Santos drew Mystical Space Typhoon next turn. He activated it to destroy Brake’s face-down Mirror Force, then Normal Summoned XX-Saber Boggart Knight. He activated Boggart Knight’s effect to Special Summon Pashuul from his hand, then Tuned Pashuul with Boggart Knight to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Hyunlei. Hyunlei targeted Brake’s face-down Mystical Space Typhoon in an attempt to destroy it, and Brake Chained it to destroy Santos’s face-down Book of Moon. Hyuneli attacked Dandylion next. Dandylion was destroyed in the battle and Brake Special Summoned 2 Fluff Tokens after losing 2000 Life Points.

Brake activated Monster Reborn next turn to Special Summon Lonefire Blossom from his Graveyard. Then he activated Lonefire Blossom’s effect to Tribute a Fluff Token and Special Summon Spore from his Deck. Next, Brake Tuned Spore with Lonefire Blossom to Synchro Summon Armory Arm. Then he removed Lonefire Blossom from his Graveyard to Special Summon Spore as a Level 4 monster, and Tuned it with Armory Arm and a Fluff Token to Synchro Summon Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier! Trishula removed Mirror Force from Santos’s field, Dark Hole from his hand, and Hyunlei from his Graveyard. Trishula attacked Hyunlei next, destroying it in battle and dealing 400 points of damage to Santos.

Santos drew XX-Saber Boggart Knight and passed.

Brake attacked directly with Trishula and then Set a card to his back row.

Santos drew Effect Veiler and Set it.

Brake attacked the face-down Effect Veiler with Trishula to destroy it, then Set a monster.

Santos drew XX-Saber Fulhelmknight next turn. He Summoned Boggart Knight and tried to activate its effect, but Brake sent an Effect Veiler from his hand to his Graveyard to negate the effect. Boggart Knight attacked Brake’s face-down Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter next, and Ryko destroyed Boggart Knight with its effect before sending the top 3 cards of Brake’s Deck to his Graveyard.

It was all over on the next turn! Brake Normal Summoned Reborn Tengu and then attacked directly with Tengu and Trishula, wiping out all 3300 of Santos’s Life Points!

A huge play with Trishula allows Billy Brake to take a dominating lead in Duel 1, creating a situation Santos can’t recover from! Jesus Santos will be going first in Duel 2!

Santos opened up with XX-Saber Faultroll, XX-Saber Darksoul, Book of Moon, Royal Oppression, and 2 copies of Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. He Set Darksoul, Oppression, and Book of Moon, before ending his first turn.

Brake Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and attacked Darksoul, destroying it in battle. In Main Phase 2, Santos flipped Book of Moon to put Rai-Oh face-down so that it couldn’t prevent him from searching his Deck and using Darksoul’s effect. In the End Phase, Santos searched his Deck for a copy of XX-Saber Fulhelmknight to add to his hand with Darksoul’s effect.

Santos drew X-Saber Pashuul next turn. He Normal Summoned Fulhelmknight and attacked the face-down Rai-Oh with it, using Fulhelmknight’s effect to Special Summon Darksoul from his Graveyard. Then Darksoul attacked directly. In Main Phase 2, Santos Tuned Darksoul with Fulhelmknight to Summon Naturia Barkion. Then he used Faultroll’s effect to Special Summon Fulhelmknight from his Graveyard in Attack Position. In the End Phase, Santos searched his Deck for a copy of Boggart Knight to add to his hand with the effect of Darksoul.

Brake activated Foolish Burial next turn to send Dandylion from his Deck to his Graveyard. Its effect activated to try to Summon 2 Fluff Tokens to the field, but Santos flipped Royal Oppression and paid 800 Life Points to negate it. Brake Set a monster and 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

Santos drew Gottoms’ Emergency Call next turn. He activated Faultroll’s effect and Brake paid 800 Life Points with Royal Oppression to negate Faultroll’s effect and destroy it. Santos attacked Brake’s face-down Ryko with Fulhelmknight next. Ryko destroyed Royal Oppression and sent Debris Dragon, Nobleman of Crossout, and Torrential Tribute from the top of Brake’s Deck to the Graveyard. When Fulhelmknight’s effect activated to try to Special Summon an X-Saber from Santos’s Graveyard, Brake flipped Solemn Warning and paid 2000 Life Points to negate Fulhelmknight’s effect and destroy it. Barkion attacked directly next, dropping Brake down to 2600 Life Points. Santos Normal Summoned Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo and Set Gottoms’ Emergency Call in Main Phase 2.

Santos drew Fulhelmknight next turn. He attacked with Barkion and Brake flipped Mirror Force. Santos allowed his Barkion and Fossil Dyna to be destroyed! In Main Phase 2, Santos Normal Summoned XX-Saber Boggart Knight and activated its effect to Special Summon X-Saber Pashuul in Defense Position. Then he activated Gottoms’ Emergency Call to Special Summon XX-Saber Darksoul from his Graveyard in Defense Position, and XX-Saber Fulhelmknight in Attack Position. Santos Tuned Pashuul with Boggart Knight to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Hyunlei, and used its effect to destroy Brake’s face-down Pot of Avarice. Then he Tuned Hyunlei with Fulhelmknight to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Gottoms. He activated Gottoms’s effect by Tributing Darksoul, forcing Brake to discard Monster Reborn from his hand. In his End Phase, Santos added a Boggart Knight from his Deck to his hand with Darksoul’s effect.

Santos drew Mirror Force and then attacked Brake’s face-down Spore with Gottoms, destroying it. In Main Phase 2, he Summoned Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo and Set Mirror Force.

Brake started off the final Duel by Summoning Reborn Tengu and Setting a card to his back row.

Santos opened up with Mirror Force, Solemn Warning, Monster Reborn, Torrential Tribute, and 2 copies of XX-Saber Fulhelmknight. He Set Mirror Force, Solemn Warning, and Torrential Tribute before ending his turn.

Brake attacked directly with Reborn Tengu and Santos activated Mirror Force to destroy Tengu.  Its effect activated to try to Special Summon another copy from his Deck, and Santos flipped Solemn Warning by giving up 2000 Life Points to negate the Tengu’s effect. Brake Set another card to his back row before ending his turn.

Santos drew Pot of Duality next turn and activated it to reveal Gozen Match, XX-Saber Emmersblade, and Gottoms’ Emergency Call from the top of his Deck. He added Gozen Match to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Santos Normal Summoned XX-Saber Fulhelmknight next and declared a direct attack; but Brake flipped Call of the Haunted and Special Summoned Tengu from the Graveyard and block the attack! Santos Set Gozen Match before ending his turn.

Brake activated Giant Trunade to return all Spell and Trap Cards to their owners’ hands on the following turn. When Call of the Haunted returned to Brake’s hand, Tengu was destroyed, allowing him to Special Summon another copy from his Deck. Brake activated One for One next by discarded Glow-Up Bulb, and Special Summoned Spore from his Deck. He Tuned Spore with Tengu to Synchro Summon Ally of Justice Catastor, then Special Summoned another Tengu from his Deck with his earlier Tengu’s effect. Brake Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh next, then sent Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard to Special Summon Glow-Up Bulb from his Graveyard. Brake Tuned Glow-Up Bulb with Ally of Justice Catastor to Synchro Summon Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, then used Brionac’s effect by discarding Debris Dragon from his hand, in order to return Fulhelmknight to Santos’s hand. Brake removed Glow-Up Bulb from his Graveyard to Special Summon Spore next, then attacked directly with Spore, Tengu, Rai-Oh, and Brionac to wipe out all 6000 of Santos’s Life Points!
