Top 8 Feature Match: Hon. Nathaniel Jadotte vs. Macro Adam Moshinsky
Nathaniel Jadotte is one of several Six Samurai Duelists that made the Top 32, but Adam Moshinsky is the only Macro Cosmos Duelist to make the playoffs. We haven’t seen a Macro Cosmos Deck make the Top 32 of a YCS tournament in years! It’s a great fit for this tournament though, banishing key cards like Glow-Up Bulb, Dandylion, Spore, Gravekeeper’s Recruiter, and XX-Saber Darksoul.
Moshinsky started the Match with a hand of Cyber Valley, Macro Cosmos, Pot of Duality, D.D. Survivor, Reinforcement of the Army, and Reborn Tengu. He used Reinforcement to get Rose, Warrior of Revenge from his Deck, then activated Duality to reveal Solemn Warning and 2 Macro Cosmos from the top of his Deck. He took Warning. He Summoned D.D. Survivor and Set Warning and Macro Cosmos.
Jadotte Set 2 cards to his back row. He ended his turn, and Moshinsky flipped Macro Cosmos.
Moshinsky drew another Pot of Duality, and attacked with Survivor for 1800 Battle Damage. He Summoned Cyber Valley in Main Phase 2, then banished it and the Survivor to draw 2 cards with Valley’s effect: Dimensional Prison and his third Pot of Duality. He Set 2 cards to his back row and Special Summoned D.D. Survivor in the End Phase.
Jadotte Set a third Spell or Trap.
Moshinsky drew Solemn Judgment and Summoned Reborn Tengu! He attacked for a combined total of 3500 Battle Damage with Survivor and Tengu, then activated Pot of Duality in Main Phase 2, revealing Dimensional Fissure, Mystical Space Typhoon, and another Cyber Valley. He added the Typhoon to his hand, shuffling the rest back. He activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy his opponent’s Double-Edged Sword Technique, then Set Solemn Judgment.
Jadotte Set a monster, then Set a Spell or Trap.
Moshinsky drew Cyber Valley and Summoned Rose, Warrior of Revenge. He Tuned it to Reborn Tengu to Synchro Summon Scrap Dragon, then Special Summoned his second Tengu from his Deck. Moshinsky activated Scrap Dragon’s effect, targeting his own face-down Pot of Duality and a Set card in his opponent’s Spell and Trap Card Zone. Jadotte tried to Chain Fiendish Chain to target Scrap Dragon, but Moshinsky responded with Solemn Judgment to force his effect through. Jadotte imediately conceded, scooping up his field.
Nathaniel Jadotte’s draws just don’t seem to come together, while Adam Moshinsky hits the ground running with D.D. Survivor, Macro Cosmos, and combos to take advantage of both. Jadotte would open the second Duel.
He did so with Shien’s Dojo, Normal Summoning Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki to Special Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan. He used Dojo to Special Summmon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai from his Deck. He Tuned Kagemusha to Kageki to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En, then Set 1 card to his back row.
Moshinsky had a hand of Return from the Different Dimension, Mirror Force, Dimensional Fissure, Neo-Spacian Grand Mole, D.D. Survivor, and Macro Cosmos. He activated Dimensional Fissure, and Jadotte negated the activation with Shi En’s effect. Moshinsky Summoned Grand Mole, but when he tried to attack Shi En, Jadotte blasted the Mole with Mirror Force. Moshinsky Set 3 cards to his Spell and Trap Card Zone.
Jadotte drew for his turn, and Moshinsky flipped Macro Cosmos. Jadotte destroyed it with Mystical Space Typhoon. He Normal Summoned Kageki, and attacked with Kageki, Kizan, and Shi En.
Moshinsky drew Pot of Duality and activated it, revealing Solemn Warning, Dark Hole, and Kinetic Soldier, adding the latter to his hand. He Summoned the Soldier and ran it at Kageki, destroying it to dish out 1650 Battle Damage.
Jadotte activated Mystical Space Typhoon next turn to destroy Moshinsky’s Set Mirror Force, and Tributed Kizan to Summon Cyber Dragon! Moshinsky immediately conceded the second Duel.
Shien’s Dojo leads to a first-turn Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En for Nathaniel Jadotte, giving him total control over the second Duel. The pressure was on. in mere minutes, one of these Duelists would move onto the Top 4 to play for a shot at a set of the Darklord prize cards. But the other would be out of the tournament.
Moshinsky opened with Macro Cosmos, Kinetic Soldier, D.D. Survivor, Puppet Plant, Dark Hole, and Rose, Warrior of Revenge. He Set Cosmos and Summoned Survivor.
Jadotte activated Shien’s Dojo. He Normal Summoned Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki, and used its effect to Special Summon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai. Moshinsky responded with Macro Cosmos, getting it activated before Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En could negate it. Jadotte Special Summoned Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan and Tuned everything together for Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier! its effect banished Moshinsky’s Macro Cosmos from the field and his Dark Hole from his hand! Trishula attacked to destroy Survivor. Jadotte Set a back row card.
Moshinsky drew another Puppet Plant and Set a monster.
Jadotte activated Shien’s Smoke Signal to search his deck for another Kageki, then Normal Summoned it to Special Summon Spirit of the Six Samurai. He had 4 Bushido Counters total on Shien’s Dojo now. Jadotte attacked with Trishula to destroy Moshinsky’s Set Puppet Plant, then made direct attacks with Spirit and Kageki to drop Moshinsky to 4900 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Jadotte used the Dojo to Special Summon Kagemusha. He Tuned it to Spirit to Synchro Summon Naturia Beast.
Moshinsky drew Dimensional Fissure and activated Puppet Plant’s effect, taking Kageki. He Summoned Rose, Tuned her to Kageki, and went for Black Rose Dragon, destroying everything on the field! Suddenly Jadotte had no cards left – his back row card had been Dust Tornado. Moshinsky activated Dimensional Fissure.

Moshinsky drew Cyber Valley, holding Kinetic Soldier. He debated which monster to use, before Summoning Kinetic Soldier and successfully attacking for 1350 Battle Damage.

Moshinsky drew Compulsory Evacuation Device and attacked with Kinetic Soldier again. He Set Compulsory.
Jadotte flipped Mystical Space Typhoon to target Moshinsky’s Compulsory Evacuation Device. he destroyed it. Jadotte Special Summoned Cyber Dragon, then attacked over Kinetic Soldier to destroy it.
Moshinsky drew Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind! He tried to Summon it, but Jadotte stopped him with Solemn Judgment!
Jadotte drew for his turn, nabbing Monster Reborn off the top! He activated it and Special Summoned Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, and that was the end of that!
