Dragon Duel: Bushido Brawl – Jonathan Martin VS Vinnie Silvermane

July 16th, 2011

Jonatha Isaac Martin and Vinnie Silvermane are both undefeated so far today in the last round of the Saturday Dragon Duel.  Martin, twelve, hails from Butler, Pennsylvania.  His opponent, Silvermane, is also twelve years old, and traveled here this weekend from Connecticut.  Both Duelists are playing similar builds of Six Samurai: Martin is running Shien’s Dojo, while Silvermane plays Dojo and Asceticism of the Six Samurai.

Silvermane opened the Match with a hand of Solemn Judgment; Elder of the Six Samurai; Asceticism of the Six Samurai; Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki; Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan; and Double-Edged Sword Technique.  He Summoned Kageki, and used it to Special Summon Elder.  He activated Asceticism targeting Elder, and Special Summoned Kagemusha of the Six Samurai from his Deck!  Silvermane Special Summoned Kizan, then Tuned Kagemusha and Elder together to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En.  He Set his last 2 cards to his back row.

Martin used Shien’s Smoke Signal to search his Deck for his own Kageki, and tried to turn Shi En facedow with Book of Moon: Silvermane negated the Book with Shi En’s effect.  Martin activated Dark Hole, but Silvermane’s Solemn Judgment negated that too!  Martin Summoned Kageki, then Special Summoned Hand of the Six Samurai and Grandmaster of the Six Samurai.  He sent Grandmaster to attack Kizan, and both were destroyed. In Main Phase 2, Martin used Hand’s effect to Tribute Kageki, trying to destroy Shi En, but Silvermane changed the target to Kageki. Kageki was destroyed; Silvermane kept his Shi En; and Martin Set his last card to his Spell and Trap Card Zone.

Silvermane drew Musakani Magatama and activated Double-Edged Sword Technique, Special Summoning Kageki and Kagemusha.  He Tuned them together for a second Shi En, then attacked to destroy Hand.  The second Shi En made a direct attack, and Martin was down to 4600 Life Points.  Silverman Set the Magatama.

Martin drew and activated Monster Reborn, and Silvermane negated it with Shi En.  Martin ended.

Silvermane drew Shien’s Smoke Signal, and used it to search his Deck for Kagemusha of the Six Samurai.  Both copies of Shi En made direct attacks, and the Duel was over!

A first-turn Asceticism combo lets Vinnie Silvermane put together a strong field in the early game, and Jonathan Isaac Martin just can’t get back on his feet!  A second Shi En seals the game and sends these competitors straight to Duel 2!

Martin started off with Shien’s Dojo, and Normal Summoned Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki to Special Summoned Kagemusha of the Six Samurai!  He Special Summoned Grandmaster next, then Tuned Kagemusha and Kageki to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En.  He sent Dojo to his Graveyard to Special Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan from his Deck, and Set 2 cards to his back row.

Silvermane’s hand was Shien’s Dojo; Giant Trunade; Solemn Warning; The Six Samurai – Yaichi; Six Samurai United; and Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan.  He activated Trunade, and Martin let it through: Trunade cleared the field.  He activated United next, and followed up with Dojo: Martin didn’t negate any of them. Silverman Normal Summoned Yaichi, adding a single Bushido Counter each to United and Dojo.  Silverman Special Summoned Kizan, then drew 2 cards with United: Kagemusha and Mystical Space Typhoon.  He sent Dojo to his Graveyard to Special Summon Kagemusha from his Deck, and with 9 Levels of Synchro Materials on the field Silvermane took a moment to search Martin’s Graveyard.  He Synchro Summoned Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, banishing Shi En from the field; Magatama from Martin’s hand; and Kagemusha from Martin’s Graveyard!  Trishula then attacked over Kizan.  Silverman Set 2 cards to his back row.

Martin activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Silverman’s Typhoon, and he Set a Spell or Trap.  He turned Grandmaster to Defense Position.

Silverman drew Puppet Plant, and activated its effect to take Martin’s Grandmaster!  He Normal Summoned Kagemusha; Tuned it to Grandmaster; and Synchro Summoned Black Rose Dragon.  He didn’t use its effect, and instead turned Trishula to Defense Position, attacking with Black Rose.  Martin dropped to 4700 Life Points.

Martin Set his topdecked monster.

Silvermane drew Shien’s Smoke Signal, using it to get another Kagemusha from his Deck.  He Turned Black Rose to Defense Position; Trishula to Attack Position; and attacked to destroy Martin’s Set Puppet Plant.

Martin Set another monster.

Silvermane drew Mystical Space Typhoon, and activated it to destroy Martin’s Set Musakani Magatama.  He turned both Synchro Monsters to Attack Position, and attacked with Black Rose, destroying Martin’s Set Kizan.  Trishula made a direct attack.

Martin drew and Set a Spell or Trap.

Silvermane drew Gateway of the Six.  Martin had just 2000 Life Points left, and Silvermane activated the Gateway.  He switched Trishula to Defense Position, then Summoned Kagemusha.  Black Rose attacked and finished the Match!

Vinnie Silvermane is your undefeated victor in the Saturday Dragon Duel!
