Dragon Duel: Clockwork Oliver Tomajko VS “Agent” Lucas Sobczak

Oliver Tomajko is no stranger to Dragon Duels. He has Dueled in several Dragon Duel events before, and since he’s only 10-years-old, he has years of Dragon Dueling ahead of him. Now, he’s taking his signature Machina Gadget Deck against 13-year-old Lucas Sobczak’s Fairy Deck in our Round 2 Feature Match!

Tomajko opened up Duel 1 with Red Gadget, Effect Veiler, Smashing Ground, Nobleman of Crossout, and 2 copies of Bottomless Trap Hole. He Summoned Red Gadget and activated its effect to grab a Yellow Gadget from his Deck. Next, he Set Nobleman of Crossout and 2 copies of Bottomless Trap Hole.

Sobczak Set 3 cards to his back row and then Summoned The Agent of Mystery – Earth to the field! He activated its effect, but Tomajko negated it with Effect Veiler!

Tomajko drew Dimensional Prison next turn. He Summoned Yellow Gadget and activated its effect, but Sobczak used Torrential Tribute to clear the field. Tomajko added a Green Gadget from his Deck to his hand with his Gadget’s effect, Set Dimensional Prison, and ended his turn.

Sobczak Summoned another Earth next turn, and used its effect to add The Agent of Miracles – Jupiter from his Deck to his hand.

Tomajko drew Mystical Space Typhoon next turn. He activated it to destroy Sobczak’s face-down Seven Tools of the Bandit and then Normal Summoned Green Gadget. He used its effect to add a Red Gadget from his Deck to his hand, and then attacked Sobczak’s Earth with his Gadget.

Sobczak drew Mystical Space Typhoon next turn and activated it to destroy one of Tomajko’s face-down copies of Bottomless Trap Hole. He Summoned Jupiter next, and Tomajko flipped his other Bottomless Trap Hole to banish it. Play passed to Tomajko.

Tomajko drew a Yellow Gadget next turn. He Summoned it to the field and activated its effect to add a Green Gadget from his Deck to his hand. Then he attacked directly with both Gadgets, dropping Sobczak down to 5000 Life Points.

Sobczak activated Giant Trunade next turn. He Set a card to his back row and then Normal Summoned The Agent of Creation – Venus. He attacked Green Gadget with his Agent and then ended his turn with no cards in his hand.

Tomajko drew Machina Force next turn. He activated Smashing Ground to destroy Venus and then Normal Summoned Green Gadget. He was out of Red Gadgets, so he didn’t use its effect. He attacked directly with his 2 Gadgets to drop Sobczak down to 2400 Life Points. Sobczak conceded on his next turn, unable to defeat Tomajko’s Gadgets!

Oliver Tomajko dominates Duel 1 with a steady stream of Gadgets to secure the first victory! Lucas Sobczak will be going first in Duel 2!

DDR2-Oliver

Sobczak started off Duel 2 by Setting 2 cards to his back row and activating The Sanctuary in the Sky. Next, he Normal Summoned The Agent of Mystery – Earth and activated its effect to add Master Hyperion from his Deck to his hand.

Tomajko opened up with Red Gadget, Machina Gearframe, Pot of Duality, Fiendish Chain, Royal Oppression, and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness. He Summoned Red Gadget to the field and used its effect to add a Yellow Gadget from his Deck to his hand. Then, he attacked Earth with his Gadget to destroy it in battle. In Main Phase 2, Tomajko activated Pot of Duality, revealing Effect Veiler, Smashing Ground, and Machina Fortress from the top of his Deck. He took the Smashing Ground and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Tomajko Set Royal Oppression and Fiendish Chain before ending his turn.

Sobczak activated Trap Stun! He Summoned another copy of Earth and used its effect to add The Agent of Creation – Venus from his Deck to his hand. Then he removed Earth from his Graveyard to Special Summon Master Hyperion from his hand! Sobczak attacked Red Gadget with Master Hyperion, destroying it in battle and dealing 1400 points of damage to Tomajko, and then Earth attacked Tomajko directly! In Main Phase 2, Sobczak activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Red Gadget from Tomajko’s Graveyard. He Tuned Red Gadget with Earth in order to Synchro Summon Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth and then ended his turn.

Tomajko drew Pot of Duality next turn. He activated Smashing Ground to destroy Master Hyperion and then Normal Summoned Machina Gearframe and activated its effect. Sobczak Chained Bottomless Trap Hole to remove the Gearframe from the Duel, but Tomajko was still able to use its effect to add Machina Fortress from his Deck to his hand. Next, Tomajko discarded Yellow Gadget and Machina Fortress from his hand to Special Summon Machina Fortress from his Graveyard. Fortress attacked Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth, and when the Fortress was destroyed in battle, it took down Gaia with its effect.

Sobczak Summoned Jupiter next turn and activated its effect by discarding Venus, in an attempt to Special Summon a removed from play Earth; but Tomajko flipped Royal Oppression and paid 800 Life Points to negate Jupiter’s effect and destroy it!

Tomajko drew Mystical Space Typhoon next turn. He activated Pot of Duality to reveal Mind Crush, Bottomless Trap Hole, and Mystical Space Typhoon from the top of his Deck. He added the Bottomless Trap Hole from his Deck to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Tomajko Set Mystical Space Typhoon and Bottomless Trap Hole before ending his turn.

Sobczak Summoned Venus next turn, but it was banished by Bottomless Trap Hole.

Tomajko drew Mirror Force, Set it, and passed.

Sobczak Summoned another Venus and attacked with it. Tomajko took the damage and dropped to 3100 Life Points.

Tomajko drew a Green Gadget next turn! He Summoned it and used its effect to add a Red Gadget from his Deck to his hand.

Sobczak Set a card to his back row and then attacked Green Gadget with Venus; but Tomajko flipped Mirror Force to destroy Venus and protect his Gadget! In Sobczak’s End Phase, Tomajko flipped Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Sobczak’s newly Set Divine Punishment.

Tomajko drew Pot of Duality next turn. He Summoned a Red Gadget to the field and used its effect to add a Yellow Gadget from his Deck to his hand. Then he attacked directly with his Green and Red Gadgets, dropping Sobczak down to 5300 Life Points. Tomajko activated Pot of Duality in Main Phase 2, revealing Dark Hole, Machina Force, and Machina Gearframe from the top of his Deck. He added the Gearframe to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck.

Sobczak activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Tomajko’s Royal Oppression and then Set a monster.

Tomajko drew another Gearframe next turn! He Summoned one to the field and used its effect to get a Machina Fortress from his Deck. He discarded Yellow Gadget and Machina Fortress from his hand to Special Summon his Fortress back from the Graveyard. Next, he attacked Sobczak’s face-down monster with Red Gadget – it was a Mystical Shine Ball, and it was destroyed by the Gadget’s attack! Next, Green Gadget, Machina Gearframe, and Machina Fortress attacked directly, wiping out all 5700 of Sobczak’s Life Points!

Oliver Tomajko pilots his signature Machina Gadget Deck to a Round 2 victory and advances to Round 3 with a perfect record!
