Dragon Duel: Mekanic Cole Agan VS Honorable Colby King
Cole Agan won Sunday’s Dragon Duel at YCS Charlotte, and now he’s back for the WCQ Dragon Duel! He ran a Lightsworn Deck back in Charlotte, but now he’s here with Scraps, taking on Colby King. King made it to the Top 4 of YCS Atlanta with Six Samurais, and now he’s trying his luck with his Samurais once again! Both Duelists are currently 3-0, but only one of them will advance in the tournament undefeated.
King started off the Duel by activating Upstart Goblin to draw a card and give Agan 1000 Life Points. Then he activated 2 copies of Six Samurai United and Normal Summoned Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan from his hand. He added a Bushido Counter to each copy of Six Samurai United, then sent them to the Graveyard to draw a card for each. Next, he activated Shien’s Smoke Signal to search his Deck for Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki and add it to his hand. He Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.
Agan opened up with Scrap Golem, Summoner Monk, Scrapstorm, Effect Veiler, Royal Decree, and Giant Trunade. He activated Giant Trunade and then Normal Summoned Summoner Monk. It switched into Defense Position and then Agan discarded Scrapstorm with its effect to Special Summon Scrap Beast from his Deck. He Tuned Summoner Monk with Scrap Beast in order to Synchro Summon Scrap Dragon and then attacked and destroyed Kizan. Agan Set Royal Decree before ending his turn.
King activated his own Giant Trunade next turn, returning Agan’s Decree to his hand! Then he activated Gateway of the Six! He Normal Summoned Kageki and activated its effect, but Agan used Effect Veiler to negate it! Gateway gained 2 Bushido Counters. Next, King activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Kizan from his Graveyard and added 2 more Counters to his Gateway. He removed 4 Bushido Counters from his Gateway in order to search his Deck for Kagemusha of the Six Samurai and add it to his hand. He Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.
Agan drew Fiendish Chain next turn. He Set Royal Decree, and then activated Scrap Dragon’s effect to destroy his own Royal Decree and King’s Gateway. Next, he attacked Kizan with his Scrap Dragon, and King activated Mirror Force to destroy the Dragon! Agan Special Summoned Scrap Beast from his Graveyard with its effect when his Dragon was destroyed. In Main Phase 2, Agan Tributed Scrap Beast to Summon Scrap Golem, and used the Golem’s effect to Special Summon the Beast back from the Graveyard. Then he Tuned his Beast with his Golem in order to Synchro Summon Scrap Twin Dragon! Agan Set Fiendish Chain before ending his turn.
King Special Summoned Kizan next turn and then Normal Summoned Kagemusha. He Tuned Kagemusha with Kageki and Kizan in order to Synchro Summon Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, and when King activated Trishula’s effect, Agan flipped Fiendish Chain to negate it! Next, King activated Double-Edged Sword Technique! He Special Summoned Kageki and Kagemusha back from his Graveyard, and Tuned them together in order to Synchro Summon Ally of Justice Catastor. Catastor attacked and destroyed Scrap Twin Dragon, and its ability allowed Agan to Special Summon his Golem from the Graveyard.
Agan drew another Fiendish Chain. He activated his Golem’s effect to Special Summon Scrap Beast from his Graveyard, then tuned his Beast with his Golem to Synchro Summon another Scrap Twin Dragon! Agan destroyed his own Chain with his Dragon’s effect to return Catastor to King’s Extra Deck and Kizan to King’s hand. Then he attacked Trishula with his Dragon, destroying it in battle. Agan Set Fiendish Chain before ending his turn.
King Set a card to each zone and passed.
Agan drew Mystical Space Typhoon and used it to target King’s face-down back row; it was a Mystical Space Typhoon and King Chained it to destroy Agan’s face-down Fiendish Chain.
King drew a monster and Set it.
Agan drew Monster Reborn next turn! He activated it to Special Summon Scrap Dragon from his Graveyard. Next, he attacked King’s face-down Kageki with Scrap Dragon to destroy it, and attacked directly with Scrap Twin Dragon.
King drew a card and passed.
But the Duel was over on the next turn! Agan attacked directly with Scrap Dragon and Scrap Twin Dragon to wipe out King’s last 4000 Life Points!
Cole Agan dominates Duel 1 with Scrap Dragon and Scrap Twin Dragon! Colby King will be going first in Duel 2!
King started off Duel 2 by activating Shien’s Smoke Signal to search his Deck for Kageki and add it to his hand. Then he activated Gateway of the Six and Six Samurai United! He Normal Summoned Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki and activated its effect to Special Summon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai from his hand. He added 4 Counters to his Gateway and 2 to his Six Samurai United. He sent the Six Samurai United to the Graveyard to draw 2 cards, then Special Summoned Grandmaster of the Six Samurai from his hand to add 2 more Bushido Counters to his Gateway for a total of six. Next, he removed 4 Bushido Counters from his Gateway in order to grab a Kizan from his Deck, and Special Summoned the Kizan in order to add 2 more Counters from his Gateway. Next, he removed the last 4 Counters from his Gateway in order to search his Deck for another Kizan to add to his hand. Then, he Tuned Kageki with Kagemusha to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En and add 2 more Bushido Counters to his Gateway. He followed up by removing 4 Bushido Counters from his Gateway in order to get another Kizan from his Deck. He Special Summoned it and added 2 Bushido Counters to his Gateway. He Set a card to his back row and then ended his turn.
Agan started off with Thunder King Rai-Oh, Monster Reborn, Scrapstorm, Mirror Force, Chain Disappearance, and Book of Moon. He Set Rai-Oh, Chain Disappearance, Mirror Force, and Book of Moon, ending his turn.
King entered his Battle Phase and Agan activated Book of Moon on Shi En. King negated the Book of Moon with his Shi En’s effect, and then Grandmaster attacked; but Agan flipped Mirror Force and emptied King’s field of Samurais! King returned Grandmaster to his hand with his fallen Grandmaster’s effect. Next, King activated Six Samurai United and Normal Summoned Kagemusha from his hand. Agan activated Chain Disappearance to banish Kagemusha and remove another copy from King’s Deck! King sent Six Samurai United to the Graveyard to draw a card, and then he Set a card to his back row.
Agan Flip Summoned Rai-Oh and then activated Monster Reborn; but King activated Solemn Judgment and paid 4000 Life Points to negate it! Agan Normal Summoned Scrap Beast next, and attacked with his Beast! When King flipped Mirror Force, Agan Chained Scrapstorm, selecting his Scrap Beast! Agan sent Scrap Chimera from his Deck to his Graveyard, drew Granel from his Deck, and destroyed his Scrap Beast. Mirror Force resolved to destroy Agan’s Rai-Oh, and Agan Special Summoned Meklord Emperor Granel from his hand! Agan had 8000 Life Points, so Granel had 4000 ATK! With only 4000 Life Points remaining, King couldn’t withstand Granel’s attack!
An amazing draw of Meklord Emperor Granel while there are no cards in his possession allows Cole Agan to win the Duel with a direct attack from his 4000 ATK monster! Agan is moving on with a perfect 4-0 record!
