Welcome to GenCon Indy 2011 – And a New Prize Card
Welcome to the 2011 Indianapolis Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series! Each year, Konami Digital Entertainment holds a YCS at GenCon, the largest gaming convention in North America. And a new prize card is being unveiled!
The previous prize cards – the Darklords – will be reprinted for everyone to have in the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years.
But this weekend, for the first time ever, Duelists will be competing for a brand new Synchro Monster… one that’s playable in almost any Deck!
Blood Mefist
Level 8 / DARK / Fiend / Synchro / Effect
2800 ATK / 1300 DEF
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, during your opponent’s Standby Phase: You can inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each card your opponent controls. Each time your opponent Sets a Spell or Trap Card(s): Inflict 300 damage to your opponent.
The new Prize Card is Blood Mefist! The Top 3 finishers in the YCS main event here at Indy will each walk away with a copy of this burn-damage powerhouse, stomping opponents in their Standby Phase and punishing them for Setting Spells and Traps. Blood Mefist is cool because it’s so versatile. It doesn’t demand any specific Synchro Materials, so almost any Duelist can play it. With 2800 ATK and a Duel-finishing effect, it attacks its enemies on two completely different fronts; punishing them for playing cards, and demolishing them with strong attacks. It’s a powerful new addition to the Extra Deck of whichever Duelist is skilled enough, smart enough, and lucky enough to outplay the opposition and win a copy!
Five competitors will score a Blood Mefist this weekend: two will win Super Rare versions through Public Event Playoffs, and two more will win Super Rares by taking second and third place in the main event. The winner of the main YCS Tournament – the Champion of Indianapolis – will take home the first-ever Ultra Rare copy. The stakes have suddenly gotten higher!
