.

Duel One

Okubo opened with Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan, Fiendish Chain, Six Samurai United, Effect Veiler, Book of Moon, and Musakani Magatama. He Set Musakani Magatama and Fiendish Chain.

Bellido Set two back row cards.

Okubo drew Solemn Warning and Set it.

Bellido summoned Inzektor Hornet, and its effect was negated by Fiendish Chain.

Okubo drew another Effect Veiler. He activated Six Samurai United, Normal Summoned Kizan, and Bellido flipped Torrential Tribute. Okubo negated it with Musakani Magatama.

Bellido Normal Summoned Inzektor Hornet, and Okubo used Effect Veiler to negate it. Bellido then used Heavy Storm, and Chained his face-down Safe Zone to target Kizan. When Safe Zone was destroyed by Heavy Storm, it destroyed Kizan along with it! Hornet attacked directly.

Okubo drew and Summoned The Six Samurai – Zanji, destroying Hornet with it. He Set Book of Moon.

Bellido summoned Card Trooper, sending Solemn Judgment, Safe Zone, and Sangan to the Graveyard to pump it to 1900 ATK. Book of Moon saved Zanji from Trooper’s attack.

Okubo drew Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki. Kageki was Summoned, and it attacked and destroyed Card Trooper. Then Zanji attacked directly.

Bellido summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld, but Okubo used Effect Veiler to stop its Trigger Effect! Bellido then used Foolish Burial to send his own Effect Veiler to the Graveyard, and banished Hornet and Effect Veiler to summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning! Black Luster Soldier attacked and destroyed both of Okubo’s samurai. Then Tour Guide attacked directly.

Okubo looked at his next draw and packed up his cards, moving straight to the Side Deck.

Lazaro Bellido takes the first Duel with an explosive Black Luster Soldier!

.

Duel Two

Okubo chose to go first, and opened with Asceticism of the Six Samurai, Monster Reborn, Bottomless Trap Hole, Gateway of the Six, and Elder of the Six Samurai. He drew Shien’s Smoke Signal. He set Bottomless Trap Hole, activated Gateway, and used Shien’s Smoke Signal to get Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned Kageki, using its effect to bring Elder into play. Asceticism summoned Kagemusha of the Six Samurai, and Okubo removed 4 counters from Gateway to search out Grandmaster of the Six Samurai! He Special Summoned Grandmaster, then removed 4 more counters to get Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan and Special Summoned that as well! Kagemusha and Elder were tuned together for Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En, and Okubo finally ended his turn with a massive field.

Bellido summoned Inzektor Centipede, which was banished by Bottomless Trap Hole. He set three back row cards.

Monster Reborn from Okubo brought Kagemusha back, and Bellido used Dust Tornado to blow away Gateway. But he was moving for his Side Deck moments later when Okubo was ready to swing away with all his monsters.

(Bellido likely had a defensive trap such as Mirror Force, and was hoping to bait Shi En’s effect out. Okubo wasn’t having any of it though!)

Okubo evens the score with a huge first turn! Bellido will be going first in the final Duel.

.

Duel Three

Bellido started with Tour Guide From the Underworld, which summoned Sangan from his Deck in defense position.

Okubo opened with Solemn Judgment, Kagemusha, Kizan, Fiendish Chain, and Solemn Warning, drawing Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror. He Normal Summoned Kizan and took down Tour Guide in battle. He set all his traps and ended his turn.

Bellido used Dark Hole, and searched out Spirit Reaper with Sangan. He then tried to use Heavy Storm, but was stopped by Solemn Judgment. Reaper was Summoned, and when it attacked, Okubo used Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror to negate its effects.

Okubo drew Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki! He Normal Summoned it, used it to bring Kagemusha along with it, and they were used to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En! It attacked Reaper.

Bellido Set a monster and put Reaper in defense position.

Okubo drew Dark Hole. He attacked the face-down monster, which was Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter. It destroyed Shi En, sending Foolish Burial, Solemn Warning, and Inzektor Dragonfly to the Graveyard.

Bellido summoned Inzektor Dragonfly. He activated its effect, then Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror. Okubo’s Fiendish Chain negated Dragonfly anyway! Bellido tried to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines, but Solemn Warning negated the summon.

Okubo drew and Set Kagemusha.

Bellido checked his Graveyard, then summoned Inzektor Hornet. He equipped it with another Hornet from his hand, and destroyed Kagemusha. It attacked directly.

Okubo drew and Set Asceticism.

Bellido blew it away with Mystical Space Typhoon next turn, and Okubo congratulated him on his win!

Lazaro Bellido’s Inzektors defeats Jason Okubo’s Samurai to remain in the tournament!
