Simon Yip is the last Chaos Dragon Duelist in the tournament! His opponent is Aaron Noel, playing Dino Rabbits. The Duelists shook hands and we were ready to begin!

Duel One

Yip won the die roll and started things off with a hand of Heavy Storm, Solar Recharge, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress, Effect Veiler and Card Trooper, drawing Dark Hole and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, sending Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Effect Veiler to the Graveyard. Card Trooper was summoned, sending Lightpulsar Dragon, Recharge, and Lyla to the Graveyard.

Noel summoned Jurrac Guaiba, and Yip used Effect Veiler to negate its effect. It attacked anyway, destroying Trooper and giving Yip a free draw – Forbidden Lance. Noel Set one back row.

Yip drew Chaos Sorcerer and passed.

Noel summoned Rescue Rabbit! He banished it to Special Summon 2 Kabazauls. He combined them to Xyz Summon Evolzar Dolkka, expecting the Gorz which Yip did, in fact, have. Both monsters attacked directly, dropping Yip to 2700 Life Points. Noel Set two more back row.

Yip drew Forbidden Lance. He used Heavy Storm, but Solemn Judgment negated it. Dark Hole then destroyed Dolkka and Guiba! Yip banished Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Lyla to summon Chaos Sorcerer. He attacked with it, and Set both Lances. One was destroyed by Noel’s Mystical Space Typhoon.

Noel summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld, getting another Guide. He combined these for Leviair the Sea Dragon! That returned Rescue Rabbit to play, which then brought out 2 Sabersauri. He used them to bring out another Dolkka. When Noel activated Mind Control to move Chaos Sorcerer out of the way, Yip was picking up his cards.

Noel takes the first game, using Dolkka to block any attempt Yip could have had to summon his Gorz!

Side Decking was swift, and Duel 2 was under way in a few short minutes.

Duel Two

Yip’s opening hand was 2 Lightpulsar Dragons, Effect Veiler, Spirit Reaper, Lyla, and Tour Guide. He Summoned Lyla and passed, sending Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, and Book of Moon to the Graveyard in the End Phase.

Noel Normal Summoned Kabazauls and crashed it into Lyla. He Set 2 back row cards and ended.

Yip drew a second Reaper. He summoned one, and Noel used Torrential Tribute. Then he Chained Macro Cosmos! Yip continued, banishing Dark Armed Dragon and Lyla for Lightpulsar Dragon’s summon and attacking directly.

Noel Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld. He brought out Sangan with its effect, then combined his Fiends into Leviair! Leviair detached Sangan, stealing Yip’s Spirit Reaper! Book of Moon turned Lightpulsar Dragon face-down so Leviair could kill it, Reaper pitched Effect Veiler.

Tour Guide From the Underworld from Yip summoned a Sangan.  Noel responded to Sangan’s summon with Raigeki Break, discarding Fiendish Chain and destroying Sangan! Sangan was banished by Macro Cosmos.

Noel had Rescue Rabbit! He banished it, then ran some numbers before deciding what he wanted to do. He summoned 2 Sabersauri. Leviair detached its last material to steal Yip’s Sangan. He overlayed the stolen Reaper and Sangan for a new Leviair. That stole Yip’s Lyla! All of Noel’s monsters attacked, wiping out the last of Yip’s Life Points!
