Alexander Reed is a Dallas local who went 10-1 in the Swiss Rounds and has made it to the Finals! Now, he’s taking his Dragonsworn Deck against former YCS-Championship winner Nizar Sarhan’s Dino Rabbit Deck! Sarhan won YCS Dallas in 2011 by using a Six Samurai Deck, and now he’s defending his title.

Sarhan opened up Duel 1 with Bottomless Trap Hole, 2 copies of Maxx “C”, and 3 copies of Rescue Rabbit. He Summoned Rescue Rabbit and banished it to Special Summon 2 copies of Kabazauls from his Deck. He combined them to Summon Evolzar Laggia and then Set a card to his back row.

Reed opened up with Solar Recharge, Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, and 2 copies of Lightpulsar Dragon. He Set Ryko and then ended his turn.

Sarhan Summoned another Rescue Rabbit next turn! He banished it to Special Summon 2 copies of Sabersaurus, and then combined his Dinosaurs to make Evolzar Dolkka. Dolkka attacked Ryko to flip it up, and Dolkka negated Ryko’s effect. Laggia attacked directly, and when Reed tried to Special Summon Gorz, Sarhan negated Gorz’s effect with Dolkka’s second Xyz Material. Sarhan Set a second card to his back row before ending his turn.

Reed drew Honest and then banished Gorz and Ryko from his Graveyard to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon; but Sarhan banished the Lightpulsar Dragon with Bottomless Trap Hole. Reed Set Honest and passed.

Dolkka attacked Honest with Evolzar Laggia and then Dolkka attacked directly to drop Reed down to 5700 Life Points

Reed drew Dark Armed Dragon on his last turn and conceded, unable to play any cards.

Nizar Sarhan Summons Rescue Rabbit on his first and second turns to win the first Duel with Laggia and Dolkka! Alexander Reed will be going first in Duel 2!

Reed opened up with Future Fusion, Sangan, Allure of Darkness, Treacherous Trap Hole, Monster Reborn, and Honest. He activated Future Fusion and sent Eclipse Wyvern, Lightpulsar Dragon, Darkflare Dragon, and 2 copies of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Deck to his Graveyard in order to Summon Five-Headed Dragon 2 turns later. He used his Wyvern’s effect to banish Dark Armed Dragon from his Deck. Next, he activated Allure of Darkness to draw Maxx “C” and Electric Virus and banish Sangan from his hand. Then he used Monster Reborn to revive Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, and Sarhan Chained Maxx “C” to draw a card. Reed activated his Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon, and Sarhan drew another card. Reed Set Treacherous Trap Hole before ending his turn.

Sarhan Set a monster and a back row.

Reed drew Mystical Space Typhoon and activated it to destroy Sarhan’s face-down Dimensional Prison. Next, Reed used the effect of his Red-Eyes to Special Summon Darkflare Dragon from his Graveyard. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon attacked Sarhan’s face-down Snowman Eater to destroy it, and Snowman Eater took down Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon with its Flip Effect. Next, Darkflare Dragon and Lightpulsar Dragon attacked directly, dropping Sarhan down to 3100 Life Points.

Sarhan conceded on his next turn with 6 cards in his hand, completely unable to overcome Reed’s Dragon’s.
