Saturday’s Dragon Duel Feature!

12-year-old Cole Agan from Chantilly, Virginia is Dueling against 11-year-old Benjamin Leverett from Atlanta, Georgia in today’s Dragon Duel Feature Match! 40 Duelists entered the event, and these 2 Duelists are the last ones undefeated with perfect 5-0 records. But only one of them can finish the tournament in first place! Will it be Cole Agan and his Chaos Dragon Deck, or Benjamin Leverett and his Dino Rabbit Deck?

Duel 1

Agan opened up with Monster Reborn, Tour Guide From the Underworld, Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter, Lightpulsar Dragon, Chaos Sorcerer, and Tragoedia. He Set Ryko before passing to Leverett.

Leverett Summoned Sabersaurus and attacked Ryko with it. Ryko destroyed Sabersaurus and sent Card Trooper, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, and Chaos Sorcerer from the top of Agan’s Deck to his Graveyard. Leverett Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

Agan drew Heavy Storm! He activated it to destroy Leverett’s Compulsory Evacuation Device and Forbidden Lance, and then Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld. He activated its effect to Special Summon Sangan from his Deck and then attacked directly with both monsters to drop Leverett down to 6000 Life Points.

Leverett Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and used it to attack Sangan! Agan lost 900 Life Points and Special Summoned Tragoedia in Defense Position, and then Sangan was sent to the Graveyard and Agan lost its effect due to the effect of Rai-Oh.

Agan drew Tour Guide From the Underworld and then switched Tragoedia to Attack Position. He attacked Rai-Oh with his 2400 ATK Tragoedia and then attacked directly with Tour Guide to drop Leverett down to 4500 Life Points.
DD1
In Main Phase 2, Agan turned his Tragoedia into a Level 3 monster with its effect by copying Sangan’s Level from the Graveyard, and combined it with Tour Guide From the Underworld to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines in Defense Position.

Leverett Summoned Sabersaurus and Set a card to his back row.

Agan drew Solar Recharge next turn. He Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect to Special Summon another Tour Guide from his Deck. Then he combined his Tour Guides to Xyz Summon Number 17: Leviathan Dragon; but Leverett flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to banish the Leviathan Dragon. Next, Agan banished Sangan and Ryko from his Graveyard to Special Summon Chaos Sorcerer, and used its effect to banish Sabersaurus.

Leverett used Dark Hole next turn. Chaos Sorcerer was destroyed, and Wind-Up Zenmaines lost an Xyz Material. In Leverett’s End Phase, Zenmaines was forced to try to destroy itself, costing it another Xyz Material.

Agan drew Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon next turn. He activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Tragoedia from his Graveyard and then copied the Level of the Chaos Sorcerer in his Graveyard with Tragoedia’s effect. Then he banished Tour Guide and Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning from his Graveyard to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon, and combined Lightpulsar Dragon with Tragoedia to Summon Hieratic Dragon King of Atum. He detached Lightpulsar Dragon from it to activate its effect and Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Deck. Then he used his Darkness Metal Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon from his Graveyard. Next, he put Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger on top of Atum, and attacked directly with Gaia Charger and Lightpulsar Dragon to take down Leverett’s last 4500 Life Points and win the Duel!

Cole Agan uses Hieratic Dragon King of Atum to Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and swarm the field for a Duel 1 victory! Benjamin Leverett will be going first in Duel 2!

Duel 2

Leverett opened up Duel 2 with Spirit Reaper, Tour Guide From the Underworld, Kabazauls, Mystical Space Typhoon, Smashing Ground, and Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning.

He Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and used its effect to Special Summon Sangan from his Deck in Attack Position. He Set a card to his back row before passing.

Agan opened up with Chaos Sorcerer, Sangan, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter, Electric Virus, and Tour Guide From the Underworld. He Set Ryko and passed.

Leverett attacked the face-down Ryko with Tour Guide, and Ryko destroyed Leverett’s face-down Mystical Space Typhoon before sending Effect Veiler, Electric Virus, and Monster Reborn from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. Then Sangan attacked directly, dropping Agan down to 7000 Life Points. Leverett Set a monster before ending his turn.

Agan drew Book of Moon next turn. He Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and tried to use its effect, but Leverett negated it with Effect Veiler. Agan attacked Leverett’s Tour Guide with his own, destroying them both.

Leverett Flip Summoned Kabazauls and then Normal Summoned Spirit Reaper. He tried to attack directly with Reaper, but Agan put it face-down with Book of Moon. Kabazauls and Sangan attacked directly, dropping Agan down to 4300 Life Points. Leverett Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Agan drew Heavy Storm and used it to destroy Leverett’s face-down Torrential Tribute. Next, he banished Tour Guide From the Underworld and Effect Veiler from his Graveyard to Special Summon Chaos Sorcerer, and used its effect to banish Sangan from Leverett’s field. He Set Sangan before ending his turn.

Leverett used Smashing Ground to destroy Chaos Sorcerer and then Special Summoned Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning by banishing Tour Guide From the Underworld and Effect Veiler from his Graveyard. He banished Sangan with the effect of his Soldier and then Flip Summoned Spirit Reaper. He attacked directly with Spirit Reaper to discard Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from Agan’s hand, and then attacked directly with Kabazauls to drop Agan down to 2300 Life Points. Leverett Set a card before ending his turn.DD4

Agan drew Eclipse Wyvern next turn and conceded, with only an Eclipse Wyvern and an Electric Virus in his hand.

Benjamin Leverett wins Duel 2 with some help from Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning and Spirit Reaper! Cole Agan will be going first in Duel 3!

Duel 3

Agan opened up with Solar Recharge, Effect Veiler, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, Mystical Space Typhoon, and 2 copies of Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress. He activated Recharge by discarding Lyla, and drew Ryko and Book of Moon before sending 2 Tour Guides from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. He Set Ryko, Book of Moon, and Mystical Space Typhoon before ending his turn.

Leverett opened up with Mystical Space Typhoon, Bottomless Trap Hole, Sangan, Sabersaurus, and Tour Guide From the Underworld.

He used Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Agan’s Mystical Space Typhoon and then Normal Summoned Sangan. Sangan attacked Agan’s face-down Ryko. Ryko destroyed Sangan and sent Tour Guide From the Underworld, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Card Trooper from the top of Agan’s Deck to the Graveyard. Leverett added Rescue Rabbit from his Deck to his hand with his Sangan’s effect. Leverett Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Agan drew Royal Decree. He Summoned Lyla and Leverett activated Bottomless Trap Hole; but Agan Chained Book of Moon to put it face-down. Agan Set Royal Decree before ending his turn.

Leverett Summoned Rescue Rabbit and Agan used Effect Veiler to negate its effect. Leverett Set a card to his back row before passing.

Agan drew Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon next turn. He Flip Summoned Lyla and then banished Effect Veiler and Tour Guide From the Underworld from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning attacked over Rescue Rabbit and then attacked directly, dealing a total of 5700 points of damage! Then Lyla attacked directly, bringing Leverett down to 600 Life Points. In his End Phase, Agan sent Mystical Space Typhoon, Monster Reborn, and Eclipse Wyvern from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Lyla’s effect, and used his Wyvern’s effect to banish Dark Armed Dragon from his Deck.

Leverett Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect to Special Summon another Tour Guide. Then he combined his Tour Guides to Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines in Attack Position and attacked Lyla with it! He lost 200 Life Points, dropping down to 400 Life Points, and detached an Xyz Material from Zenmaines to keep it on the field. In his End Phase, Leverett destroyed Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning with Zenmaines’s effect.

Agan drew another Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon next turn. He had 2 copies of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon in his hand with Lyla and Royal Decree on the field. He ended his turn without attacking Zenmaines, and sent Lightpulsar Dragon, Charge of the Light Brigade and Future Fusion from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with the effect of Lyla in the End Phase.

Leverett Summoned Sabersaurus next turn and attacked over Lyla to destroy it.

But it was all over next turn! Agan drew Ryko and discarded it alongside a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon from his Graveyard! Lightpulsar Dragon attacked over Sabersaurus to wipe out Leverett’s last 400 Life Points and finish the Duel and the Match!
