Sunday’s Dragon Duel: Zachary Leverett vs. Fisher Orlando

13-year-old Zachary Leverett is Dueling against 11-year-old Fisher Orlando in this final round of Sunday’s Dragon Duel! Both Duelists are currently undefeated, but only one of them will finish the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record. Will it be Zachary Leverett with his Dino Rabbit Deck, or Fisher Orlando with his Gravekeeper’s Deck?

Duel One

Orlando started off the Match by Setting a monster and 4 back rows.

Leverett opened up with Thunder King Rai-Oh, Mystical Space Typhoon, Dimensional Prison, and 3 copies of Rescue Rabbit! He activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy a Dark Bribe and then Normal Summoned Rescue Rabbit. Leverett used its effect to banish it and Special Summon 2 copies of Kabazauls from his Deck; but Fisher flipped Bottomless Trap Hole and banished both Kabazauls! Leverett Set Dimensional Prison before ending his turn.

Orlando Flip Summoned Gravekeeper’s Recruiter and then Normal Summoned Sangan. He attacked with Sangan and Leverett used Dimensional Prison to banish it. Next Gravekeeper’s Recruiter attacked, and Leverett dropped down to 6800 Life Points.

Leverett drew Solemn Judgment next turn! He Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and attacked Gravekeeper’s Recruiter; but Orlando used Fiendish Chain to block Rai-Oh’s attack and negate its effect. Leverett Set Solemn Judgment before ending his turn.

Orlando switched Gravekeeper’s Recruiter to Defense Position and then Set a monster.

Leverett used Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Fiendish Chain and then Normal Summoned Rescue Rabbit. He banished it to Special Summon 2 copies of Sabersaurus from his Deck and then combined his Dinosaurs to Summon Evolzar Dolkka. Dolkka attacked Fisher’s face-down Gravekeeper’s Recruiter to destroy it, and then Rai-Oh attacked and destroyed his face-up Recruiter. Rai-Oh stopped both effects.

Orlando Set a card to his back row and passed.

Leverett attacked directly with Rai-Oh and Dolkka to reduce Fisher to 3800 Life Points. He Set Book of Moon in Main Phase 2 before ending his turn.

Orlando used Gravekeeper’s Stele to add 2 copies of Gravekeeper’s Recruiter to his hand. Then he Normal Summoned a Gravekeeper’s Recruiter and tried to use Torrential Tribute; but Leverett negated it with Solemn Judgment.

Leverett attacked Recruiter with Dolkka, and Rai-Oh prevent Fisher from searching his Deck. Rai-Oh attacked directly.

Orlando Set a Gravekeeper’s Spy next turn, but it was no use.

Leverett attacked over Gravekeeper’s Spy with Evolzar Dolkka, and negated the Spy’s effect. Then a direct attack from Thunder King Rai-Oh finished Fisher off!

Fisher Orlando never gets to use Necrovalley in his Gravekeeper’s Deck, and Zachary Leverett opens up with 3 copies of Rescue Rabbit to quickly defeat him in Duel 1! Fisher Orlando will be going first in Duel 2!

Duel Two

Orlando started off Duel 2 by Setting a monster and 3 back rows.

Leverett opened up with Tour Guide From the Underworld, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, Forbidden Lance, and 2 copies of Mystical Space Typhoon. He used both copies of Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy a Vanity’s Emptiness and Bottomless Trap Hole. Then he Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and used its effect to Special Summon a Sangan from his Deck. He combined Sangan with Tour Guide to Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines in Defense Position and Set Forbidden Lance before ending his turn.

Orlando Set a back row and passed.

Leverett drew Dark Hole. He activated it to destroy Orlando’s face-down Gravekeeper’s Spy, and detached an Xyz Material from Zenmaines. Then he Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and switched Zenmaines into Attack Position. Zenmaines and Rai-Oh attacked directly, dropping Orlando down to 4600 Life Points. In his End Phase, Leverett targeted Orlando’s face-down Mystical Space Typhoon for destruction with his Zenmaines’s effect, and Orlando Chained it to destroy Leverett’s Lance.

Leverett drew Kabazauls and Summoned it. He attacked with Zenmaines, and Orlando flipped Mirror Force. Zenmaines lost an Xyz Material, and Rai-Oh and Kabazauls were destroyed. Zenmaines scored an attack and destroyed Starlight Road with its effect in the End Phase.

Orlando used Dark Hole to destroy Zenmaines and then Set a monster.

Leverett drew Rescue Rabbit and Summoned it! He banished it to Summon 2 copies of Kabazauls and then combined them to make Evolzar Dolkka. He attacked and destroyed a face-down Maxx “C”.

Orlando Set a monster.

Leverett attacked and destroyed Orlando’s face-down Gravekeeper’s Descendant with Dolkka. He Set Bottomless Trap Hole before passing.

Orlando used Gravekeeper’s Stele to return a Gravekeeper’s Spy and Gravekeeper’s Descendant from his Graveyard to his hand. He Set a Solemn Warning before passing.

Leverett drew Heavy Storm and activated it to destroy his own Bottomless Trap Hole and Orlando’s Solemn Warning. He attacked Gravekeeper’s Spy with Dolkka and negated its effect by detaching an Xyz Material from Dolkka.

Leverett attacked and destroyed it with Dolkka.

Orlando Set 2 cards to his back row.

Leverett attacked with Dolkka. Orlando flipped Dimensional Prison to try to banish it, and Leverett saved it by putting it face-down with Book of Moon.

Leverett Flip Summoned Dolkka and attacked directly.

Orlando Set a back row and passed.

A direct attack from Dolkka finished Orlando off on Leverett’s next turn!
