Oliver Tomajko and Alexander Reynolds had a Feature Match in Round 10, and Reynolds took a 2-0 victory after 2 close games. But Tomajko made it into the Top 32 anyways, and now they’re facing off against each other in a rematch that will send one of them packing for sure!

Duel One

Reynolds started off the Duel by Setting a monster and passing.

Tomajko opened up with Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, Solemn Warning, Compulsory Evacuation Device, Forbidden Lance, Kabazauls, and Sabersaurus. He Summoned Kabazauls and attacked Reynolds’s face-down Ryko. Ryko destroyed Kabazauls and sent Allure of Darkness, Ryko, and Solar Recharge from the top of Reynolds’s Deck to his Graveyard. Tomajko Set Solemn Warning before ending his turn.

Reynolds tried to Summon Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress and Tomajko negated its Summon with Solemn Warning by giving up 2000 Life Points. Reynolds passed his turn without a field.

Tomajko drew Mystical Space Typhoon and then Normal Summoned Sabersaurus. He attacked with Sabersaurus to drop Reynolds down to 6100 Life Points and then Set Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Reynolds activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Lyla from his Graveyard. He used its effect to target Compulsory Evacuation Device, and Tomajko Chained Compulsory Evacuation Device to return Sabersaurus to his hand. Next, Reynolds Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect to Special Summon Sangan from his Deck. He attacked directly with Sangan, and Tomajko Special Summoned Gorz the Emissary of Darkness in Defense Position, along with a 1000 DEF Emissary of Darkness Token. Reynolds combined Sangan with Tour Guide to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines in Defense Position and then ended his turn. In his End Phase, he sent Charge of the Light Brigade, Dark Hole, and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Lyla’s effect.

Tomajko drew another Sabersaurus next turn. He switched his Token into Attack Position and attacked and destroyed Lyla. Then he Set Mystical Space Typhoon to his back row and ended his turn.

Reynolds Normal Summoned Lyla and attacked Tomajko’s Token to destroy it. Then he used Lyla’s effect to destroy Tomajko’s face-down Mystical Space Typhoon. In his End Phase, Reynolds sent Solar Recharge, Future Fusion, and Effect Veiler from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Lyla’s effect.

Tomajko drew Spirit Reaper next turn. He switched Gorz into Attack Position and then attacked Lyla with it. He Set Forbidden Lance before ending his turn.

Reynolds Summoned another Lyla next turn and used its effect to target Tomajko’s Forbidden Lance. Tomajko Chained it to reduce Zenmaines’s ATK by 800. Next, Reynolds banished Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Lyla from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning! He switched Zenmaines into Attack Position and then Black Luster Soldier attacked and destroyed Gorz before scoring a direct hit. After Zenmaines attacked for 700 points of damage, Tomajko dropped down to 300 Life Points. In Reynolds’s End Phase, Reynolds sent Eclipse Wyvern, Dark Armed Dragon, and Plaguespreader Zombie from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Lyla’s effect. He banished Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Deck with Wyvern’s effect.

Tomajko drew and Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld next turn, but when Reynolds negated its effect with Effect Veiler, Tomajko conceded.

Tomajko doesn’t draw Rescue Rabbit in Duel 1, and Reynolds finishes him off swiftly with Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. Tomajko will be going first in Duel 2!

Duel Two

Tomajko opened up Duel 2 with Dimensional Prison, Mystical Space Typhoon, Fiendish Chain, Torrential Tribute, Sangan, and Kabazauls. He Set Sangan, Torrential Tribute, and Mystical Space Typhoon before passing to Reynolds.

Reynolds activated Allure of Darkness to draw 2 cards and banish Chaos Sorcerer from his hand. Then he used Heavy Storm to destroy Tomajko’s face-down Torrential Tribute and Mystical Space Typhoon. He Set a monster and passed.

Tomajko drew Gorz the Emissary of Darkness next turn. He Flip Summoned Sangan and attacked Reynolds’s face-down Ryko with it. Ryko destroyed Sangan and sent Effect Veiler, Lightpulsar Dragon, and Solar Recharge from the top of Reynolds’s Deck to his Graveyard, and then Tomajko used Sangan’s effect to add a Rescue Rabbit from his Deck to his hand. He Summoned the Rescue Rabbit and banished it to Special Summon 2 copies of Kabazauls, which he combined to Summon Evolzar Laggia. Tomajko Set Dimensional Prison before ending his turn.

[Reynolds may have been better off not destroying Sangan with Ryko’s effect, so that Tomajko wouldn’t have been able to Summon Rescue Rabbit and Evolzar Laggia so quickly. He could choose to send the top 3 cards of his Deck to the Graveyard with Ryko’s effect, without destroying any cards.]

Reynolds Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld next turn and used its effect to Special Summon Sangan from his Deck. He combined Sangan with Tour Guide to Xyz Summon Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, and then detached an Xyz Material from his Leviathan Dragon to boost it to 2500 ATK. Next, he banished Sangan and Effect Veiler from his Graveyard to Special Summon Darkflare Dragon, and Tomajko negated its Summon with his Laggia’s effect. Reynolds banished Ryko and Darkflare Dragon from his Graveyard to Special Summon another Darkflare Dragon next, and discarded Eclipse Wyvern to send Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Deck to his Graveyard and banish Kabazauls from Tomajko’s Graveyard with his Darkflare Dragon’s effect. He banished Dark Armed Dragon from his Deck with his Wyvern’s effect. Reynolds banished Darkflare from his field to Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and used its effect to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon from the Graveyard. Lightpulsar Dragon attacked Laggia, and Tomajko banished it with Dimensional Prison. Then Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon attacked and destroyed Laggia, and Number 17: Leviathan Dragon attacked directly. Tomajko Special Summoned Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, along with a 2500 DEF Token.

Tomajko drew Compulsory Evacuation Device next turn! He switched Gorz into Attack Position and attacked Number 17: Leviathan Dragon with it. Then he Set Fiendish Chain, Compulsory Evacuation Device, and Kabazauls.

Reynolds drew a card and Tomajko immediately used Compulsory Evacuation Device to return Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to Reynolds’s hand before he could use his Dragon’s effect. Reynolds passed.

Tomajko drew Monster Reborn! He activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Kabazauls from his Graveyard, and Reynolds Chained Maxx “C” to draw a card. Then, Tomajko Flip Summoned his other Kabazauls. He attacked with both copies of Kabazauls, the Emissary of Darkness Token, and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness to wipe out all 7800 of Reynolds’s Life Points!

Oliver Tomajko uses Gorz the Emissary of Darkness to make a comeback in Duel 2 and push the Match to a final Duel! Alexander Reynolds will be going first in Duel 3!

Duel Three

Reynolds started off Duel 3 by Setting a monster.

Tomajko opened up with Dark Hole, Macro Cosmos, Dimensional Prison, Kabazauls, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, and Tour Guide From the Underworld. He Summoned Kabazauls and attacked Reynolds’s face-down Ryko with it. Ryko destroyed Kabazauls and sent Future Fusion, Maxx “C”, and Chaos Sorcerer from the top of Reynolds’s Deck to his Graveyard. Tomajko Set Macro Cosmos and Dimensional Prison before ending his turn.

Reynolds Summoned Lyla and attacked with it; but Tomajko flipped Dimensional Prison to banish the Lyla!

Tomajko drew Compulsory Evacuation Device next turn! He Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect to Special Summon Sangan. Tour Guide and Sangan attacked directly, and Reynolds dropped down to 6000 Life Points. Tomajko Set Compulsory Evacuation Device before ending his turn.

Reynolds Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect to Special Summon Sangan from his Deck. Then he combined Sangan with Tour Guide to Xyz Summon Number 17: Leviathan Dragon! He detached Sangan from his Dragon to give it 500 ATK and then banished Leviathan Dragon to Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon; but Tomajko flipped Compulsory Evacuation Device to return the Dragon to Reynolds’s hand before it could use its effect. Reynolds banished Sangan and Ryko from his Graveyard to Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning and then used its effect to banish Sangan.

Tomajko drew Monster Reborn next turn! He activated Dark Hole to destroy his own Tour Guide and Reynolds’s Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning and then used Monster Reborn to revive the Soldier. He attacked directly with Black Luster Soldier to drop Reynolds down to 3000 Life Points.

Reynolds drew a card and Tomajko flipped Macro Cosmos in his Draw Phase. He Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and used its effect to Special Summon another Tour Guide from his Deck. Then he combined his Tour Guides to Summon Leviair the Sea Dragon in Defense Position and used Leviair’s effect to Special Summon Lyla. Reynolds used Lyla’s effect to destroy Tomajko’s Macro Cosmos and then ended his turn by sending Solar Recharge and 2 copies of Chaos Sorcerer from his Deck to his Graveyard with Lyla’s effect in the End Phase.

Tomajko drew Mystical Space Typhoon next turn, and time in the round was called! Tomajko was up 8000 Life Points to 3000 Life Points. Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning attacked and destroyed both of Reynolds’s Defense Position monsters, and play passed to Reynolds.

Reynolds banished Lyla and Tour Guide from his Graveyard to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon in Attack Position and then Set a monster.

Tomajko drew Soul Taker next turn. He banished Reynolds’s face-down Lyla with his Soldier and then ended his turn.

Reynolds drew a card next turn and Set a monster. Since Reynolds was unable to deal at least 5000 points of damage, Tomajko was awarded the victory in the final turn of overtime, up 8000 Life Points to 3000 Life Points.
