Round 10 Feature Match: Robbie Kohl vs. Junior Dorcin
Robbie Kohl entered this weekend’s tournament with a Machina Gadget Deck (featuring Grandsoil the Elemental Lord) and currently holds an 8-1 record. Junior Dorcin, piloted his Six Samurai Deck to the same record. Now, Kohl and Dorcin are being pitted against one another in this Round 10 Feature Match! Only one of them can emerge with a 9-1 record at the end of the Swiss Rounds. Which one of them will it be?
Kohl opened up Duel 1 with Machina Fortress, Torrential Tribute, Compulsory Evacuation Device, Maxx “C”, Pot of Duality, and Solemn Warning.
He activated Pot of Duality to reveal Mystical Space Typhoon, Machina Fortress, and Torrential Tribute from the top of his Deck and added the Fortress to his hand before shuffling the other 2 cards back into his Deck. He Set Solemn Warning and Torrential Tribute before passing.
Dorcin activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Kohl’s face-down Torrential Tribute and then Normal Summoned Kagemusha of the Six Samurai. He activated Asceticism of the Six Samurai next, and Kohl Chained Maxx “C” from his hand! Dorcin Special Summoned Elder of the Six Samurai from his Deck Kohl drew another Maxx “C” thanks to the effect of his first one. Dorcin Set 3 cards to his back row.
Dorcin Tuned Kagemusha with Elder next, to try to Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En; but Kohl flipped Solemn Warning and gave up 2000 Life Points to negate its Summon!
Kohl drew Machina Gearframe next turn! He Summoned it and activated its effect. Dorcin Chained Bottomless Trap Hole to banish Gearframe, and Kohl grabbed Machina Cannon from his Deck with Gearframe’s effect. Kohl discarded 2 copies of Machina Fortress to Special Summon one of them to the field and attacked with it; but Dorcin flipped Dimensional Prison to banish the Fortress! Kohl Set Compulsory Evacuation Device before passing.
Dorcin drew a card and Set it to his back row.
Kohl drew Yellow Gadget next turn and Summoned it. He activated its effect to add a Green Gadget from his Deck to his hand and then attacked directly to drop Dorcin down to 6800 Life Points.
Dorcin drew The Six Samurai – Zanji and Summoned it. He attacked and destroyed Yellow Gadget before ending his turn.
Kohl drew Monster Reborn! He Summoned Green Gadget and activated its effect to add a Red Gadget from his Deck to his hand, and then discarded Machina Cannon to Special Summon Machina Fortress from his Graveyard. Dorcin used Bottomless Trap Hole to try to banish it; but Kohl Chained Compulsory Evacuation Device to return Machina Fortress to his hand! Next, Kohl send Red Gadget and Machina Fortress from his hand to his Graveyard to Special Summon Machina Fortress to the field, and then used Monster Reborn to Special Summon Red Gadget from his Graveyard. He used his Gadget’s effect to add a Yellow Gadget from his Deck to his hand and then combined Red Gadget and Green Gadget to Summon Maestroke the Symphony Djinn. Machina Fortress attacked and destroyed Zanji, and then Maestroke attacked directly to drop Dorcin down to 4300 Life Points.

Kohl drew Yellow Gadget. He attacked directly with Machina Fortress and Maestroke to wipe out Dorcin’s last 4300 Life Points!

Duel Two
Dorcin started off Duel 2 by Summoned Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki and activating its effect to Special Summon Kagemusha from his hand. He Tuned Kageki with Kagemusha to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En and then activated Dimensional Fissure. He Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.
Kohl opened up with Thunder King Rai-Oh, Pot of Duality, Yellow Gadget, Torrential Tribute, Bottomless Trap Hole, and Kinetic Soldier. He Summoned Kinetic Soldier and attacked Shi En; but Dorcin flipped Dimensional Prison to banish Kinetic Soldier. Kohl Set Bottomless Trap Hole and Torrential Tribute, and then activated Pot of Duality in Main Phase 2. Dorcin didn’t negate it, and Kohl grabbed a Machina Fortress from the top 3 cards of his Deck before shuffling the other 2 revealed cards back into his Deck.
Dorcin attacked directly with Shi En and Set a card to his back row.
Kohl drew Tragoedia and then Normal Summoned Yellow Gadget. He used its effect to add Green Gadget from his Deck to his hand and then passed.
Dorcin Set a card to his back row and then Summoned Zanji. Kohl flipped Bottomless Trap Hole; Dorcin used Shi En’s effect to negate the Bottomless; Kohl Chained Torrential Tribute to try to clear the field; and Dorcin flipped Solemn Judgment and gave up 4000 Life Points to negate the Torrential Tribute. Dorcin attacked and destroyed Yellow Gadget with Shi En, and then attacked directly with Zanji to drop Kohl down to 2400 Life Points. Kohl Special Summoned Tragoedia from his hand in Defense Position, with 1800 ATK and DEF.
Kohl drew Solemn Warning next turn. He Normal Summoned Green Gadget and used its effect to add a Red Gadget from his Deck to his hand. Next, he switched Tragoedia into Attack Position and attacked Zanji to destroy it and deal 600 points of damage to Dorcin.
Dorcin Special Summoned Grandmaster of the Six Samurai from his hand and then attacked over Tragoedia with Shi En. Next, Grandmaster of the Six Samurai attacked and destroyed Green Gadget. Dorcin Set a card to his back row before passing.
Kohl drew Snowman Eater and conceded, unable to defeat Shi En!
Junior Dorcin Summons Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En on his first turn, and Robbie Kohl is unable to destroy it! Kohl will be going first in Duel 3!
Duel Three
Kohl opened up Duel 3 with Red Gadget, Mystical Space Typhoon, Solemn Warning, Dimensional Prison, Monster Reborn, and Machina Cannon. He Summoned Red Gadget and used its effect to add a Yellow Gadget from his Deck to his hand. Then he Set Mystical Space Typhoon and Solemn Warning before passing.
Dorcin activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Kohl’s face-down Mystical Space Typhoon and then tried to Normal Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan; but Kohl flipped Solemn Warning and gave up 2000 Life Points to negate its Summon. Dorcin used Reinforcement of the Army next, and added Elder of the Six Samurai from his Deck to his hand. He activated Asceticism of the Six Samurai by targeting his Elder, and Special Summoned Kagemusha of the Six Samurai from his Deck. Then he Tuned Kagemusha with Elder to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En and attacked Red Gadget to destroy it. Dorcin Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.
Kohl drew Red Gadget next turn. He Summoned Yellow Gadget to the field and used its effect to add Green Gadget from his Deck to his hand. Next, he activated Monster Reborn; but Dorcin negated it with Shi En! Kohl Set Dimensional Prison before ending his turn.
Dorcin attacked and destroyed Yellow Gadget with Shi En.
Kohl drew Tragoedia. He Summoned Red Gadget next turn and activated its effect to add Yellow Gadget from his Deck to his hand.
Dorcin Summoned The Six Samurai – Zanji and then Special Summoned Grandmaster of the Six Samurai. Shi En attacked and destroyed Red Gadget, dropping Kohl to 2300 Life Points, and then Grandmaster of the Six Samurai attacked directly, dropping Kohl down to 200 Life Points. Kohl Special Summoned Tragoedia in Attack Position with 1800 ATK, and Dorcin attacked it with Zanji to destroy both monsters.
Kohl drew Machina Fortress next turn! He sent it to the Graveyard along with the Yellow Gadget in his hand and then Special Summoned it to the field. He attacked Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En with his Fortress, but Dorcin flipped Dimensional Prison to banish the Fortress, and Kohl offered the handshake!
Junior Dorcin ends the Swiss Rounds with a 9-1 record using Six Samurais!
