Last year, Bo Tang was the highest-ranked Canadian finisher in the 2011 North American World Champioship Qualifier, and represented Canada at the World Championship.  This weekend, he’s made the Top 32 with Dino Rabbit.  His opponent is Ryad Hamwi, who’s competing in the Top 32 with the retro pick of the weekend, Synchrocentric!  Hamwi Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and Set a spell or trap.Tang had a hand of Maxx “C”; Sangan; Forbidden Lance; Dimensional Prison; Bottomless Trap Hole; and Starlight Road.  He Set Dimensional Prison.Hamwi attacked with Thunder King Rai-Oh, and Tang banished it with Dimensional Prison.  Hamwi Set a monster.Tang drew Rescue Rabbit and Summoned it, banishing it to Special Summon two copies of Kabazauls.    He Xyz Summoned Evolzar Dolkka, then attacked into Dimensional Prison.  Tang Chained Forbidden Lance, and the attack connected with Snowman Eater: Dolkka negated Snowman Eater’s effect, detaching an Xyz Material to destroy it after taking a bit of damage.Hamwi Set another monster.Tang drew Pot of Avarice and Summoned Sangan, attacking with Dolkka to reveal Hamwi’s Spirit Reaper.  Hamwi Set a monster.Tang drew Compulsory Evacuation Device and attacked over Spore.  He Set Compulsory.Hamwi Set a monster.Tang drew Tour Guide from the Underworld!  He Summoned her, then Special Summoned his second copy to Xyz Summon Leviair the Sea Dragon.  He detached a Tour Guide from it, trying to Special Summon Rescue Rabbit, but Hamwi Chained Effect Veiler’s ability.  Tang Chained Dolkka’s effect to negate the Veiler, then banished Rabbit to Special Summon two Sabersaurus.  He stacked them for Photon Papilloperative; used its ability to blow away Spirit Reaper; and attacked Hamwi’s remaining Set monster with Dolkka.  It was Dandylion, and Hamwi Special Summoned two Fluff Tokens!  Photon Papilloperative and Leviair each attacked a Token, and Sangan made a direct attack.Hamwi Summoned his own Sangan next turn, then banished Dandylion for Spore’s effect: Tang Chained the effect of Maxx “C”, and drew a card when Spore was Special Summoned.  Hamwi Synchro Summoned Black Rose Dragon (Tang drew another card), and when he tried to use its effect Tang Chained Starlight Road, Special Summoning Stardust Dragon!  Hamwi searched his Deck for Spirit Reaper, then Set one card to his back row.Tang drew Snowman Eater, holding Mystical Space Typhoon; Pot of Avarice; and Thunder King Rai-Oh.  He activated Mystical Space Typhoon and Hamwi conceded the first Duel.Bo Tang takes Duel 1, hitting Rescue Rabbit on turn 2 and bringing it back with Tour Guide from the Underworld and Leviair the Sea Dragon on turn 5 to lock up the winl!  Tang was just one win away from the Top 16!Hamwi Set a card to his Spell and Trap Card Zone.This time around, Tang had a hand of Dimensional Prison; Compulsory Evacuation Device; Forbidden Lance; Dark Hole; Tour Guide from the Underworld; and Sabersaurus.  He Summoned Sabersaurus and got in a direct attack for 1900 Battle Damage.  Tang Set Prison and Compulsory, and Hamwi activated Scapegoat in Tang’s End Phase.Hamwi activated Mystical Space Typhoon, targeting Compulsory Evacuation Device, which Tang Chained to eliminate one of Hamwi’s Sheep Tokens.  Hamwi Summoned Lonefire Blossom, and Tributed it for Spore.  He Tuned Spore to a Sheep Token for Formula Synchron, drawing a card and then banishing Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon Spore back to the field at Level 4.  He Tuned Spore to another Sheep Token, this time for T.G. Hyper Librarian!  He Tuned it to Formula Synchron for Arcanite Magician in Defense Position, removing two Spell Counters to destroy Dimensional Prison, then Sabersaurus.  Tang drew Torrential Tribute and Set it.Hamwi Summoned Card Trooper, and sent Debris Dragon, Messenger of Peace, and Reborn Tengu to his Graveyard to boost it up.  Trooper attacked for 1900 Battle Damage.Tang drew Sangan and Summoned it, then attacked over Card Trooper: Hamwi drew a card for its effect.Hamwi banished Formula Synchron and Hyper Librarian from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, and Tang cleared the field with Torrential Tribute!  He got Rescue Rabbit with his Sangan’s effect, but Hamwi activated Pot of Avarice to send back every monster from his Graveyard save Arcanite Magician.  Hamwi drew two cards, then Normal Summoned Spirit Reaper to attack and make Tang discard the Rescue Rabbit he’d searched!  Hamwi activated Messenger of Peace.Tang drew another Thunder King Rai-Oh and Summoned it, then Set Dark Hole and Lance.Hamwi paid 100 Life Points to keep Messenger of Peace on the field, then tried to destroy Thunder King Rai-Oh with Soul Taker.  Tang saved his monster by activating Forbidden Lance.  Hamwi Set a monster, then Set a Spell or Trap.Tang drew Maxx “C”.  He Summoned Tour Guide from the Underworld; used her effect to Special Summon another Tour Guide; and Xyz Summoned Wind-Up Zenmaines in Defense Position.Hamwi decided not to pay for Meassenger.  He Flip Summoned Dandylion, and stacked it with Reaper to Xyz Summon Leviair the Sea Dragon.  He detached Dandylion, and Tang Chained the effect of Maxx “C”!  He drew Snowman Eater when Hamwi Special Summoned back his Lonefire Blossom with Leviair’s effect, and drew Monster Reborn when Hamwi Summoned his Fluff Tokens.  Hamwi Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh, and attacked Tang’s to destroy both.  Tang drew Kabazauls and activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Rescue Rabbit in Defense Position.  He banished it to Special Summon two Kabazauls from his Deck, and when they hit play Hamwi Special Summoned back his Thunder King with Call of the Haunted.  “That’s a good card,” laughed Tang, who was now limited in his Xyz Summoning options.  He attacked Lonefire Blossom and a Fluff Token with the Kabazauls, then tried to Xyz Summon Evolzar Laggia in Main Phase 2: Hamwi negated the Summon with Thunder King Rai-Oh.  Tang Set Snowman Eater.Hamwi Summoned Debris Dragon, Special Summoning Dandylion!  He Tuned them together with the last Fluff Token for Scrap Dragon, and blew away his own Call of the Haunted and Tang’s Dark Hole with the Dragon’s effect.  Monster Reborn got him back his Lonefire Blossom, and he sent it to the Graveyard to Special Summon Spore from his Deck.  He attacked Tang’s Snowman Eater with Scrap Dragon, and Tang used its effect to destroy Leviair!  Tang drew Pot of Avarice and activated it right away, sending two Kabazauls; Maxx “C”; Sabersaurus; and Thunder King Rai-Oh back to his Deck.  He drew Mind Control and Dimensional Prison.  He Summoned Kabazauls and rammed Zenmaines into Scrap Dragon, detaching a Tour Guide to keep Zenmaines from being destroyed.  Kabazauls then attacked over Spore.  Tang Set a Spell or Trap, then destroyed Scrap Dragon in the End Phase.Hamwi drew to three cards in hand, with two Fluff Tokens still on the field.  He Normal Summoned Debris Dragon to Special Summon Dandylion again, this time bringing out Stardust Dragon!  He Special Summoned two more Fluff Tokens, then Set a spell or trap.Tang drew Solemn Judgment and attacked two Fluff Tokens, then Set Judgment and Mind Control.Hamwi attacked with Stardust Dragon; Tang flipped Dimensional Prison; Hamwi Chained Solemn Judgment; and Tang Chained a Judgment of his own!  Stardust Dragon was banished.  Hamwi Set a monster and a spell or trap.Tang drew Heavy Storm and attacked turned Zenmaines to Defense Position.  Kabazauls attacked the last Fluff Token.Hamwi Set a second spell or trap.Tang drew D.D. Crow.  He activated Mind Control to take Hamwi’s Sangan, then flipped Heavy Storm: Hamwi immediately gave the handshake!Bo Tang moves on, taking Dino Rabbit to the Top 16!
