Round 3 Feature Match: Herman Singh vs. Christopher LeBlanc
It’s Round 3! We’ve got more undefeated Duelists with us now: Herman Singh brought his Gladiator Beasts from Seymour, Connecticut, while Christopher LeBlanc came from Waltham, Massechussetts with his Karakuri Geargia Deck.
Duel 1
LeBlanc Set a back row card to begin.
Singh had Gladiator Proving Ground, Gladiator Beast Equeste, Gladiator Beast Laquari, Gladiator Beast Retiari, Bottomless Trap Hole, and Pot of Duality. He summoned Retiari and attacked into Fiendish Chain. In Main Phase 2, he played Duality to get Solemn Warning from his Deck, shuffling back 2 copies of Mystical Space Typhoon. He Set Warning and Bottomless Trap Hole.
LeBlanc summoned Geargiaccelerator. It destroyed Retiari in battle, and LeBlanc Set 2 back row.
Singh drew Starlight Road. He played Equeste, but its attack was blocked by Book of Moon. He Set Road and lost it to Mystical Space Typhoon.
LeBlanc destroyed Equeste in battle and Set a monster.
Singh drew Warning. He Summoned Laquari and LeBlanc played his own Warning.
LeBlanc flipped up his Karakuri Strategist mdl 248 “Nishipachi”. He attacked directly with it and Geargiaccelerator. In Main Phase 2 he Synchro Summoned Black Rose Dragon, and Singh negated its summon with Warning. LeBlanc Set a monster.
Singh drew Safe Zone. He played Proving Ground to get a copy of Laquari and Summoned it. He attacked LeBlanc’s face-down Geargiarmor, taking 100 Battle Damage. Geargiarmor gave LeBlanc a copy of Geargiano Mk-II. At the end of the Battle Phase, Singh returned Laquari tagged out for Gladiator Beast Murmillo, which destroyed Geargiarmor. He Set Safe Zone and Warning to end his turn.
LeBlanc Summoned Geargiano Mk-II. It Special Summoned Geargiarmor, then it attacked Murmillo. Singh used Safe Zone to keep Murmillo around, and at the end of the Battle Phase Murmillo returned to the Deck to bring out Equeste! Equeste returned Laquari to Singh’s hand. LeBlanc flipped Geargiarmor face-down.
Singh drew Forbidden Lance. He Normal Summoned Laquari. Laquari destroyed Geargiano Mk-II, then Equeste attacked Geargiarmor. Geargiarmor gave LeBlanc a new Geargiano Mk-II. Singh returned Laquari to the Deck to Summon Gladiator Beast Darius. Darius revived the fallen Equeste, then the first Equeste returned to the Deck to bring out Laquari. In Main Phase 2, he Special Summoned Gladiator Beast Heraklinos!
LeBlanc destroyed Bottomless Trap Hole with Mystical Space Typhoon. He flipped his Geargiarmor face-down, then Flip Summoned it to get a Geargiaccelerator. He played Dark Hole next, forcing Singh to negate it with Heraklinos by discarding his only card – Forbidden Lance. LeBlanc played Geargiano Mk-II next, and it revived the previous copy from his Graveyard. He used them to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines, and Singh negated its Summon with Solemn Warning! LeBlanc continued by using Pot of Avarice to return every monster in his Graveyard back to his Deck and draw two. He Special Summoned Geargiaccelerator and overlayed it and Geargiarmor for Gear Gigant X! Finally, he used Mind Control to get Heraklinos out of the way for a game-winning attack!
Christopher LeBlanc fights through Heraklinos to take the first Duel! Both Duelists quickly made use of their Side Decks.
Duel 2
Singh began with Mystical Space Typhoon, Bottomless Trap Hole, Murmillo, Darius, Cyber Dragon, and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. He Set Bottomless Trap Hole.
LeBlanc Set a monster.
Singh drew Gladiator Beast War Chariot. He Summoned Darius and Set Chariot.
LeBlanc passed.
Singh drew Thunder King Rai-Oh. He Summoned Murmillo, then had Darius attack the face-down monster. It was revealed to be Snowman Eater, and Singh negated it with Chariot. Murmillo attacked directly, and LeBlanc played his Gorz the Emissary of Darkness! Gorz summoned an 800 ATK Emissary of Darkness Token. Singh sent Murmillo back to his Deck for Equeste, which returned Chariot to his hand. Darius tagged out for Murmillo to destroy Gorz. Singh Set Chariot.
LeBlanc Normal Summoned Geargiaccelerator. It attacked Murmillo, then he Set three cards to his back row.
Singh drew Pot of Duality. He sent Equeste to destroy Geargiaccelerator, and LeBlanc played Fiendish Chain. Singh destroyed it with Mystical Space Typhoon, and LeBlanc played another Fiendish Chain! In Main Phase 2, Singh played Pot of Duality to reveal Solemn Warning, Dimensional Prison, and Mystical Space Typhoon. He put Warning in his hand and shuffled the others back. He Set Warning and ended.
LeBlanc Normal Summoned Effect Veiler. He tuned it to the Emissary of Darkness Token to Synchro Summon Scrap Dragon, only to lose it to Bottomless Trap Hole. He switched Geargiaccelerator to defense position.
Singh drew another Chariot. He Normal Summoned Rai-Oh, and it destroyed Geargiaccelerator. He turned Equeste to defense position.
LeBlanc blew away Singh’s monsters with Dark Hole! He Normal Summoned Geargiano Mk-II, and Singh negated its summon with Warning. He Set a back row.
Singh drew another Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. He Normal Summoned one of them and attacked directly.
LeBlanc Set a back row.
Singh drew Dark Hole and attacked with Fossil Dyna again.
LeBlanc Normal Summoned Geargiarsenal and destroyed Fossil Dyna. In Main Phase 2 he Tributed Geargiarsenal to Special Summon Geargiarmor, then turned it face-down.
Singh drew Dimensional Prison. He played Dark Hole and LeBlanc bounced Geargiarmor back to his hand with Compulsory Evacuation Device! He Normal Summoned another Fossil Dyna, and LeBlanc took out that one with Solemn Warning. He Set Dimensional Prison.
LeBlanc Set a monster.
Singh drew Rai-Oh. He Normal Summoned it, losing it to Warning. Singh was unfazed, and immediately Special Summoned Cyber Dragon in Rai-Oh’s place! Cyber Dragon destroyed Geargiarmor in battle, and Geargiarmor gave LeBlanc a Geargiano Mk-II.
LeBlanc Set a monster.
Singh drew Torrential Tribute. Cyber Dragon attacked LeBlanc’s Snowman Eater, and both monsters were destroyed. Singh Set Torrential Tribute and his second Chariot.
LeBlanc Normal Summoned Geargiano Mk-II and revived Geargiaccelerator. He returned Geargiano Mk-II to his hand to Special Summon Genex Ally Birdman! Singh played Torrential Tribute to prevent a possible Black Rose Dragon, and Geargiaccelerator added Geargiarmor back to LeBlanc’s hand.
Singh drew another Torrential Tribute and Set it.
LeBlanc Set a monster.
Singh drew and Set Starlight Road.
LeBlanc Set another monster.
Singh drew Gorz with four cards Set in his back row – no help now.
LeBlanc Set a back row.
Singh drew Gladiator Proving Ground! It gave him Gladiator Beast Laquari, and he Normal Summoned it. Laquari attacked, and LeBlanc flipped Trap Stun! Singh couldn’t use War Chariot now, so when Geargiarmor was flipped up it gave LeBlanc a Geargiaccelerator. Laquari tagged out for Equeste, which added another Equeste from Singh’s Graveyard to his hand.
LeBlanc flipped Geargiarmor face-down, then flipped it up again. When its effect activated, Singh negated and destroyed it with Gladiator Beast War Chariot. LeBlanc Normal Summoned Geargiano Mk-II, and Singh negated that with his other Chariot!
Singh drew Book of Moon. He Normal Summoned Equeste. One Equeste attacked LeBlanc’s last Set monster, bouncing off the 1800 DEF of Karakuri Watchdog mdl 313 “Saizan”. The other Equeste attacked as well. One Equeste tagged out for Laquari, then the other tagged out for Darius. Darius revived Murmillo, and Singh Special Summoned Gladiator Beast Heraklinos. He Set Book of Moon.
LeBlanc Normal Summoned Geargiarmor, then Special Summoned 2 Geargiaccelerators from his hand! He turned Geargiarmor face-down, then tuned Saizan to a Geargiaccelerator to Synchro Summon Karakuri Steel Shogun mdl 00X “Bureido”! Bureido Special Summoned Karakuri Strategist mdl 248 “Nishipachi” from LeBlanc’s Deck. Nishipachi turned itself to defense position and Bureido let LeBlanc draw a card. He tuned Nishipachi to Geargiaccelerator to Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon, and Singh negated its effect with Starlight Road! Bureido attacked the new Stardust Dragon, and Book of Moon blocked it. LeBlanc Set a back row.
Singh drew Compulsory Evacuation Device. He destroyed Bureido with Heraklinos, and destroyed Geargiarmor with Stardust Dragon. Geargiarmor gave LeBlanc Geargiarsenal. Singh Set his Evacuation Device.
LeBlanc Set a back row and a monster, but his monster was flung back to the hand with Singh’s Evacuation Device, leaving LeBlanc defenseless!

Duel 3
LeBlanc Set a monster and two back row cards.
Singh began with Solemn Judgment, 2 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, Book of Moon, Thunder King Rai-Oh, and Equeste. He Summoned Rai-Oh, then Set Book and Judgment.
LeBlanc flipped up Geargiarmor. When its effect activated, LeBlanc Chained Book of Moon to put Rai-Oh face-down and keep it from interfering with Geargiarmor’s effect. Singh chose to negate the Book with his Judgment, and Geargiarmor failed to search out anything. LeBlanc Special Summoned Geargiaccelerator, then returned it to his hand for Genex Ally Birdman. He Special Summoned Geargiaccelerator again, then bounced away Rai-Oh with Compulsory Evacuation Device! He Synchro Summoned Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 “Burei”, which Special Summoned Karakuri Watchdog mdl 313 “Saizan” from his Deck. Geargiarmor turned itself face-down, then Burei flipped it up again to let it search out Geargiaccelerator. He Special Summoned it immediately, and used it and Saizan to Summon Karakuri Steel Shogun mdl 00X “Bureido”! Bureido Special Summoned Saizan from his Deck, and he tuned it to Geargiarmor to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon! All of his monsters attacked to finish Singh off!
