Round 8 Feature Match: Bo Tang Versus Nick Drahorad
Both of these Duelists are undefeated here in Round 8! Canadian Bo Tang is playing Dino Rabbit, while Drahorad – a German Duelist – is running Wind-Ups.
Drahorad opened up the Match with a Wind-Up Rabbit and a Set Spell or Trap.
Tang had a hand of Torrential Tribute; Dimensional Prison; Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning; Solemn Judgment ; and TWO Rescue Rabbits! He Summoned one and banished it to Special Summon two Kabazauls, but Drahorad banished them both with Bottomless Trap Hole! Tang Set three cards to his back row.
Drahorad Summoned a second Wind-Up Rabbit, and attacked with both to drop Tang to 5200 Life Points. Drahorad Set another Spell or Trap.
Tang drew his third Kabazauls, then Normal Summoned it. It attacked a Rabbit; Drahorad banished both; and Kabazauls made a direct attack.
Drahorad brought back both of his Rabbits next turn, then Normal Summoned Wind-Up Magician. Drahorad banished a Rabbit to trigger Wind-Up Magician’s effect, Special Summoning Wind-Up Hunter from his Deck. Tang responded with Torrential Tribute, and Drahorad Chained his Rabbit effect to banish his Magician, saving it.
Tang drew Mind Control. He Summoned a second Rescue Rabbit and Special Summoned two Sabersaurus. Drahorad flipped Torrential Tribute, but Tang negated it with Solemn Judgment! Tang attacked with both Dinosaurs, then stacked them in Main Phase 2 to Xyz Summon Evolzar Dolkka.
Drahorad brought back Rabbit and Magician, and turned Magician to Defense Position. He Set a Spell or Trap.

Drahorad activated Rabbit’s effect to banish itself, triggering Magician’s ability: Tang negated it, destroying Magician with Dolkka’s effect. Drahorad Normal Summoned Wind-Up Rat and Special Summoned Wind-Up Shark from his hand. He Xyz Summoned Wind-Up Zenmaines.
Tang drew Compulsory Evacuation Device and Set it, the perfect answer to Zenmaines.
Drahorad brought back his Rabbit and passed.
Tang drew Snowman Eater and passed.
Drahorad sent Zenmaines to attack Dolkka, and Tang responded with Dimensional Prison, banishing it. Drahorad activated Pot of Avarice in Main Phase 2, shuffling back Wind-Up Rat; Wind-Up Rabbit; Wind-Up Shark; Wind-Up Magician; and Wind-Up Hunter. He drew two cards, then activated Mystical Space Typhoon targeting Tang’s Compulsory Evacuation Device. Tang Chained it, targeting Wind-Up Rabbit, and Drahorad Chained Rabbit’s effect to bounce Rabbit back out of play. Drahorad Set a second Spell or Trap.
Tang drew Thunder King Rai-Oh and Set Snowman Eater.
Drahorad brought back his Rabbit; activated Wind-Up Factory; and activated Rabbit’s effect, banishing itself to get Wind-Up Shark. He Set a monster.
Tang drew Mystical Space Typhoon and activated it, destroying Drahorad’s Set Bottomless Trap Hole. He Flip Summoned Sangan, then took Drahorad’s Wind-Up Magician with Mind Control. Sangan made a direct attack to lower Drahorad to 1500 Life Points, but when he tried to attack for game with Dolkka, Drahorad flipped Dimensional Prison to banish it! Tang Flip Summoned Magician in Main Phase 2, then Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh to stack it with Magician, Xyz Summoning Number 39: Utopia.
Drahorad brought back his Rabbit, and banished it to get Wind-Up Magician with Wind-Up Factory. He Summoned Magician to Special Summon Shark, then Special Summoned Magician, Hunter, and another Shark. Hunter Tributed a Magician to make Tang discard his last in-hand card. Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, and he Xyz Summoned Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity. Zenmaity got him Wind-Up Rat, and the Rat Special Summoned back his Magician. He reduced Shark to Level 3 to Xyz Summon Temtempo the Percussion Djinn, then stacked his Magicians for Number 39: Utopia. “I smell the Snowman,” Drahorad remarked, detaching with Temtempo to detach a Material from Tang’s Utopia. He then attacked with his own Utopia to flip Snowman Eater.
Tang used Snowman Eater’s effect to destroy Utopia. Next turn Tang drew Book of Moon, and attacked over Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity with Utopia. Drahorad detached with Temtempo again, but Zenmaity went down all the same. Tang turned Sangan to Defense Position in Main Phase 2, and then overlaid Utopia with Number C39: Utopia. Tang Set Book.
Drahorad brought back his Rabbit, then Normal Summoned Wind-Up Rat to Special Summon Wind-Up Magician. Factory got Drahorad another Wind-Up Shark, and he banished Rat with Rabbit. That triggered Magician’s effect, and Tang Chained Book of Moon to turn Magician face-down. Temtempo attacked Utopia Ray to destroy it. Tang drew Effect Veiler next turn and conceded.
Nick Drahorad dominates the first Duel, rebuking Bo Tang’s strong opening with a perfect spread of Trap Cards, followed by a series of grinding exchanges that give him total control over the proceedings!
Tang started off Game 2 with Bottomless Trap Hole; Heavy Storm; Dimensional Prison; Mystical Space Typhoon; Effect Veiler; and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo! He Set Typhoon and Bottomless.
Drahorad Normal Summoned Tour Guide from the Underworld, and Tang fired back with Effect Veiler.
Tang drew Sangan, and Summoned it to attack into Tour Guide; he destroyed both monsters, and used Sangan’s effect to get Maxx “C”.
Drahorad Normal Summoned another Tour Guide, and this time he Special Summoned Sangan! Drahorad made a direct attack with Tour Guide, then Set two cards to his Spell and Trap Card Zone.
Tang drew Rescue Rabbit and Set Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo.
Drahorad attacked with Tour Guide, flipping Fossil Dyna and bouncing off it harmlessly. Its effect destroyed Sangan, getting Drahorad Wind-Up Magician. Drahorad Set a monster.
Tang drew Kabazauls and attacked to destroy Tour Guide.
Drahorad activated Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying Tang’s Bottomless Trap Hole. He Flip Summoned Snowman Eater to destroy Fossil Dyna, then Normal Summoned Wind-Up Magician. He activated Wind-Up Shark’s ability; Tang Chained Maxx “C”; and Tang drew Solemn Warning when Shark was Special Summoned. Drahorad shifted the Shark’s Level to 3, Special Summoning Wind-Up Rabbit with Magician. Tang drew Mystical Space Typhoon. Drahorad stacked Snowman and Shark to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines, letting Tang draw Forbidden Lance.
Tang drew Starlight Road. He activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Drahorad’s Set Dark Hole, then activated another Typhoon to destroy Torrential. He Summoned Rescue Rabbit, but Drahorad had Effect Veiler to stop Tang from using the Rabbit’s effect. “I played very bad this time,” remarked Tang, who stacked Kabazauls and Rabbit to Xyz Summon Number 39: Utopia. Utopia attacked to destroy Magician, and Tang Set all five of his remaining cards to his back row!
Drahorad turned his Wind-Up Rabbit to Defense Position.
Tang drew Solemn Judgment and passed.

Tang drew and tried to Summon Tour Guide from the Underworld, but lost it to Solemn Warning.

Drahorad Summoned Wind-Up Rat, but Tang blasted it with Solemn Warning.

Tang drew another Kabazauls and Set it.
Drahorad Normal Summoned Wind-Up Rat, using its effect to Special Summon Wind-Up Magician. He banished Rat with Rabbit, triggering Magician’s effect and Special Summoning a second Rabbit. That let him Special Summon Wind-Up Shark. He Xyz Summoned Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity, and Tang kicked it away with Compulsory Evacuation Device before Drahorad could use its effect.
Tang drew Sabersaurus, with five cards in hand and four cards Set to his back row. He had Utopia and a Set Kabazauls on the field. Drahorad had two cards in hand with three Set in his back row, along with Wind-Up Rabbit, Wind-Up Magician, and Wind-Up Zenmaines on the field. Tang examined his opponent’s Graveyard, trying to get a full picture of the Duel in every aspect. After thinking a bit, he activated Forbidden Lance, targeting Zenmaines. He then activated Heavy Storm, clearing the field of all Spells and Traps! Tang Summoned Sabersaurus, and Xyz Summoned Photon Papilloperative. He used its ability to turn Wind-Up Zenmaines to Attack Position and reduce it to 100 ATK! Tang attacked it with Utopia, forcing Drahorad to let his monster be destroyed and dropping him to 600 Life Points. Papilloperative then attacked, destroying Wind-Up Rabbit.
Drahorad brought back his Wind-Up Rat, then Normal Summoned Wind-Up Magician. Rat brought back Wind-Up Shark from the Graveyard, triggering Magician’s effect to Special Summon another Rat in Defense Position. Time was callde. Drahorad Xyz Summoned Photon Papilloperative, turning his fresh Rat to attack position, then used the Rat’s ability to Special Summon another Wind-Up Shark. He shifted it to Level 5, then stacked it with the other Shark for Tiras, Keeper of Genesis. Tang blew it away with Solemn Judgment. Drahorad stacked his Rats for Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, detached a Material to pump its ATK, and attacked into Photon Papilloperative. Tang flipped Forbidden Lance! Drahorad took fatal damage, and with one win each in time the Duel was a draw!
