Day 2 Dragon Duel Final: Josh Dal Porto vs. David Munoz

We saw 12-year-old Josh Dal Porto, from Jacksonville, MI, in yesterday’s Dragon Duel Final, and he’s looking to take the win today with Dino Rabbit. He’s up against 12-year-old David Munoz from Boca, FL, playing Wind-Ups. Who’s going to become the Sunday Dragon Duel Champion? Let’s Duel!

Duel 1

Munoz began with Mystical Space Typhoon, Maxx “C”, Sangan, Tour Guide From the Underworld, Torrential Tribute, and Wind-Up Rabbit. He Set Sangan, Torrential Tribute, and Mystical Space Typhoon.

Dal Porto played Jurrac Guaiba and Munoz wiped the field with Torrential Tribute. Sangan put Wind-Up Shark into his hand, and Dal Porto Set 2 back row cards.

Munoz drew Bottomless Trap Hole. He Normal Summoned Wind-Up Rabbit and Dal Porto took it out with Solemn Judgment! Munoz Set Bottomless.

Dal Porto played Thunder King Rai-Oh and Set Macro Cosmos, losing each to Bottomless Trap Hole and Mystical Space Typhoon, respectively.

Munoz drew Wind-Up Rat. He Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld, bringing his other Tour Guide along with it. He stacked his Fiends for Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity, and Dal Porto hit it with Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Dal Porto Normal Summoned Kabazauls and attacked directly.

Munoz drew Tragoedia. He Normal Summoned Rat and had it revive Rabbit, and played Zenmaity once more. Zenmaity brought Wind-Up Magician out, and Shark came down from Munoz’s hand. Magician brought another Magician to the field. Shark became Level 5 and the new Magician brought out another Shark. That also became Level 5, and Munoz Xyz Summoned both Tiras, Keeper of Genesis and Maestroke the Symphony Djinn! Tiras attacked Kabazauls, then Zenmaity and Maestroke ended the Duel!

David Munoz overpowers Josh Dal Porto’s slow opening with a rush of Xyz Summons! One more win will make him today’s Dragon Duel Champion!

Duel 2

Dal Porto had a better start this time, with Rescue Rabbit! He banished it for 2 Kabazauls and Xyz Summoned Evolzar Laggia, then Set 2 to his back row.

Munoz had Solemn Warning, Tour Guide From the Underworld, Wind-Up Factory, Messenger of Peace, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Maxx “C”. He played Typhoon to destroy Dimensional Prison, then Normal Summoned Tour Guide. Laggia negated the Summon, and Munoz activated Messenger of Peace. He Set Warning.

Dal Porto Normal Summoned his own Tour Guide, and Munoz Chained Maxx “C”! He drew Compulsory Evacuation Device when the new Tour Guide hit the field. Wind-Up Zenmaines came next, and Munoz drew Rat. Dal Porto Set a back row card.

Munoz drew Bottomless Trap Hole. He Set it and Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Dal Porto hit Messenger with Mystical Space Typhoon. Zenmaines attacked and was bounced away by Compulsory Evacuation Device. Laggia attacked directly, dropping Munoz to 5500. Dal Porto Set a third back row card.

Munoz drew Heavy Storm and passed, and Dal Porto destroyed Bottomless Trap Hole with Mystical Space Typhoon.

Laggia attacked again and a third back row card was Set.

Munoz drew Tragoedia. He played Heavy Storm to hit his own Warning, as well as 2 Compulsory Evacuation Device and Dust Tornado on Dal Porto’s side.

Dal Porto played Kabazauls. He attacked, Tragoedia came down, and Laggia destroyed it.

Munoz drew Solemn Warning, but only had 1400 Life Points. He Set it and Factory, and Set Rat.

Dal Porto used Pot of Duality to take a Solemn Warning, and Munoz conceded!

We’re going on to a third Duel! This one will settle it all!

Duel 3

Munoz had Wind-Up Rabbits, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Mirror Force, Maxx “C”, and Tour Guide From the Underworld. He Set Mirror Force and played Rai-Oh.

Dal Porto destroyed Mirror Force with Mystical Space Typhoon, played Tour Guide, and Munoz played Maxx “C”. Tour Guide brought out Sangan in defense position, and Munoz drew Rat. Dal Porto Set a card to his back row.

Munoz drew Torrential Tribute. He attacked Sangan with Rai-Oh, then Set Torrential Tribute and played a Rabbit. Dal Porto’s Mystical Space Typhoon destroyed Torrential Tribute in the End Phase.

Dal Porto Normal Summoned Tour Bus From the Underworld and Xyz Summoned Zenmaines. Munoz sent Thunder King Rai-Oh to the Graveyard to negate the Summon. Tour Bus’s effect returned Sangan to the Deck and Dal Porto passed.

Munoz drew Compulsory Evacuation Device. He Normal Summoned Tour Guide and lost it to Solemn Warning. Rabbit attacked directly, and he Set Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Dal Porto Normal Summoned Kabazauls. It attacked Rabbit, and Munoz banished his Rabbit to save it. Kabazauls hit directly instead, and Dal Porto Set a back row.

Munoz drew Mystical Space Typhoon and used it on the newly Set card. Dal Porto Chained it – Dust Tornado – targeting Munoz’s Compulsory Evacuation Device. Munoz Chained that, returning Kabazauls to the hand. Munoz Normal Summoned a second Rabbit, Xyz Summoned Zenmaity, and Special Summoned Rat with its effect. Rat brought Rabbit back to the field, and he Xyz Summoned Number 20: Giga-Brilliant. He activated its effect to power up his monsters and attacked with Zenmaity and Giga-Brilliant, putting Dal Porto down to 700 Life Points.

Dal Porto destroyed Zenmaity with Thunder King Rai-Oh next turn.

Munoz drew Bottomless Trap Hole. He Normal Summoned Rat and Xyz Summoned Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, boosted his Leviathan, then used Giga-Brilliant again. With all of his monsters recieiving a huge power bonus, he attacked Rai-Oh with Leviathan Dragon to win it all!
