Finals Feature Match: Travis Smith vs. Elijah Gersten
This is it. Only 2 Duelists remain in the tournament, and both of them are piloting Wind-Up Decks. Travis Smith is a Miami local and YCS first-timer Dueling against Tampa Florida’s Elijah Gersten in this final Match of the tournament! One of these Duelists is about to become a Dueling legend who will forever hold the title of YCS Miami Champion.
Duel One
Smith opened up Duel 1 with Tour Guide From the Underworld, Torrential Tribute, Fiendish Chain, Compulsory Evacuation Device, and 2 copies of Wind-Up Factory.
He Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect to Special Summon another Tour Guide from his Deck. He combined both Tour Guides to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity in Defense Position and then activated Wind-Up Factory. He detached an Xyz Material from Zenmaity to activate its effect and Special Summon Wind-Up Rabbit from his Deck; then he added Wind-Up Shark to his hand with the effect of Wind-Up Factory. Smith Set 3 cards to his back row before ending his turn.
Gersten drew a card and Smith banished Wind-Up Rabbit in his Draw Phase so that he could use his Factory’s effect and add Wind-Up Magician from his Deck to his hand. Gersten Summoned Wind-Up Rabbit next, and then Special Summoned Wind-Up Shark from his hand. He reduced the Shark’s Level to 3 and then combined it with Wind-Up Rabbit to Summon Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity. When Smith flipped Compulsory Evacuation Device to return Gersten’s Zenmaity to his Extra Deck, Gersten instantly conceded.

Duel Two
Gersten started off Duel 2 by Summoning Wind-Up Rabbit and Setting 2 cards to his back row.
Smith opened up with Wind-Up Magician, Solemn Warning, Wind-Up Factory, Wind-Up Shark, Effect Veiler, and Mystical Space Typhoon. He used Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Gersten’s Mystical Space Typhoon and then activated Wind-Up Factory. Gersten Chained the effect of his Rabbit to the activation of Wind-Up Factory. Smith Summoned Wind-Up Magician and then Special Summoned Wind-Up Shark from his hand. He Special Summoned Wind-Up Magician from his Deck with his first Magician’s effect and added Wind-Up Rat to his hand with the effect of Wind-Up Factory. Smith reduced his Shark to Level 3, triggering the effect of his second Wind-Up Magician, and used the second Magician’s effect to Special Summon Wind-Up Rabbit from his Deck. He combined both Magicians to Summon Maestroke the Symphony Djinn in Attack Position and then combined Wind-Up Rabbit with Wind-Up Shark to Summon Leviair the Sea Dragon; but Gersten flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to banish Leviair. Smith attacked directly with Maestroke to drop Gersten down to 6200 Life Points and Set Solemn Warning before ending his turn.
Gersten returned Wind-Up Rabbit to the field in his Standby Phase and then Normal Summoned Wind-Up Rat. He Special Summoned Wind-Up Shark from his hand next, allowing Smith to add Wind-Up Shark from his Deck to his hand with the effect of his Wind-Up Factory. Gersten reduced his Shark’s Level to 3 and then combined it with Wind-Up Rabbit to Summon Temtempo the Percussion Djinn. Gersten used Temtempo’s effect to get rid of one of Maestroke’s Xyz Materials. Next, Gersten tried using Wind-Up Rat’s effect; but Smith flipped Solemn Warning to negate the effect and destroy the Rat. Gersten attacked Maestroke to get rid of another of its Xyz Materials. Gersten Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.
Smith Summoned Wind-Up Rat and used its effect to Special Summon Wind-Up Magician from his Graveyard. He tried to Special Summon Wind-Up Shark from his hand, but Gersten flipped Solemn Warning to negate the Shark’s effect. Gersten switched Maestroke into Defense Position before ending his turn.
Gersten Summoned Sangan next turn. He attacked Wind-Up Rat with Sangan to destroy it and then attacked Wind-Up Magician with Temtempo. Smith was left with a Maestroke in Defense Position.
Smith drew Fiendish Chain next turn. He tried to Summon Wind-Up Rabbit; but Gersten paid 2100 Life Points to negate its Summon with Solemn Judgment! Smith Set Fiendish Chain before passing.
Gersten activated Wind-Up Factory and then switched Sangan into Defense Position.
Smith Set a monster and passed.
Gersten passed without making a play.
Smith drew a card and passed.
Gersten Set a card to his back row and passed.

Smith Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect; but Gersten negated it with Fiendish Chain. Smith Flip Summoned Sangan next, and combined it with Tour Guide to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines. He attacked Temtempo with Zenmaines, and Gersten used Temtempo’s effect to strip an Xyz Material from Zenmaines. Zenmaines crashed into Temtempo and gave up its second Xyz Material. Smith lost 1200 Life Points in the process. In the End Phase, Zenmaines destroyed Temtempo with its effect; Smith added Wind-Up Rat from his Deck to his hand with Wind-Up Factory; and Gersten also added Wind-Up Rat from his Deck to his hand with Wind-Up Factory.
Gersten activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Smith’s face-down Fiendish Chain. Next, he Normal Summoned Wind-Up Rat and activated its effect. Smith Chained Maxx “C”! Gersten Special Summoned Wind-Up Rabbit from his Graveyard and Smith drew a card thanks to Maxx “C”.
Both Duelists added Wind-Up Shark to their hands with their Factories. Next, Gersten combined Sangan with Rabbit to Summon Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity. Smith drew a card thanks to Maxx “C” and then used Effect Veiler to negate Zenmaity’s effect when Gersten detached an Xyz Material. Gersten Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.
Smith Summoned Wind-Up Rat. He activated its effect to try to Special Summon Wind-Up Rabbit, and Gersten flipped Solemn Warning to negate its effect and destroy the Rat. Gersten dropped down to 100 Life Points after using Solemn Warning, so Smith switched his Maestroke into Attack Position! With Maestroke and Zenmaines going up against Gersten’s Zenmaity, Gersten knew he was finished.
