Lonnie Whatley is from nearby Orlando, FL. His opponent is Oscar Renderos, who made the trip from Arizona. Both Duelists are using Inzektors today, but each has some unique choices. Lonnie is using Cardcar D, while Oscar is using Insect Imitation and The Seal of Orichalcos!

Duel 1

Renderos began the Duel with a hand of Dark Armed Dragon, Mind Control, Inzektor Dragonfly, Sangan, Fiendish Chain, and Mystical Space Typhoon. He Set Sangan and Chain.

Whatley Normal Summoned Cardcar D, then played Pot of Duality. He revealed Safe Zone, Dark Armed Dragon, and Inzektor Sword – Zektkaliber, choosing to take the Sword. He Set 2 back row cards, then activated Cardcar D’s effect.

Renderos drew Monster Reborn. He Flip Summoned Sangan and attacked directly, then Set Mystical Space Typhoon.

Whatley played another Cardcar D! He Set a back row card and used Cardcar D’s effect again.

Renderos drew Pot of Avarice. Sangan attacked again. In the End Phase, Whatley used Mystical Space Typhoon to target Renderos’s Mystical Space Typhoon. He Chained it to destroy Whatley’s The Huge Revolution is Over.

Whatley played Allure of Darkness, banishing Inzektor Ladybug for its effect. He destroyed Fiendish Chain with Mystical Space Typhoon, then used Mind Control to take Sangan. He Normal Summoned Inzektor Hornet and attacked with it, then Xyz Summoned Wind-Up Zenmaines in defense position.

Renderos drew Maxx “C” and passed.

Whatley Normal Summoned Sangan and attacked with it.

Renderos drew Inzektor Centipede and Normal Summoned it. He mimicked Whatley’s play with Mind Control stealing Sangan to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines!

Whatley Set a second back row card.

Renderos drew Safe Zone. He Set it.

Whatley Normal Summoned Centipede. He played Foolish Burial to put Ladybug in the Graveyard, then used Centipede to equip it. Ladybug made Centipede Level 4, and Centipede’s effect put Inzektor Sword – Zektkaliber into Whatley’s hand.

Renderos drew Ladybug. He Normal Summoned Dragonfly and equipped Ladybug from his hand, then used Ladybug to make Dragonfly Level 5. Dragonfly Special Summoned Centipede, which equipped Ladybug. Ladybug made Centipede also Level 5, and Centipede put Inzektor Hornet into Renderos’s hand. He stacked Dragonfly and Centipede for Tiras, Keeper of Genesis. Before he could enter his Battle Phase, Whatley played Threatening Roar. Renderos detached Dragonfly from Tiras.

Whatley used Centipede to equip Ladybug again, and Ladybug made it Level 5. Centipede gave him Dragonfly and he Normal Summoned it to equip Ladybug. Ladybug made Dragonfly Level 5, and Renderos Chained Maxx “C” to Dragonfly’s effect. Dragonfly Special Summoned Centipede and it equipped Ladybug. Ladybug made that Centipede Level 4, and it added Inzektor Giga-Mantis to Whatley’s hand. He stacked his Level 5 Centipede and Dragonfly for Inzektor Exa-Stag. When it was Summoned, Renderos used Safe Zone on his Tiras. He played Inzektor Sword – Zektkaliber on Centipede and equipped Renderos’s Zenmaines to Exa-Stag.

Renderos played Centipede, equipped Hornet, and used Hornet to target Whatley’s Call of the Haunted. Whatley Chained it on Sangan, adding Tour Guide From the Underworld to his hand when Sangan went down soon after. Renderos continued with Monster Reborn to revive Dragonfly, then Special Summoned Dark Armed Dragon! Dragonfly equipped Hornet, which destroyed Exa-Stag. Dragonfly Special Summoned Inzektor Hopper, which equipped Ladybug. He stacked Centipede and Dragonfly for Number 20: Giga-Brilliant, and used its effect by detaching Dragonfly. Ladybug made Hopper Level 6. Then he equipped Hornet with Inzektor Giga-Mantis. Dark Armed Dragon destroyed Giga-Mantis, and he Special Summoned Centipede. That equipped Hornet which took a material off Zenmaines, and Centipede gave him Inzektor Sword – Zektkaliber. Dark Armed Dragon took another material from Zenmaines, then finally destroyed it. It destroyed Centipede next, and Whatley’s Inzektor Sword – Zektkaliber put Dragonfly back to his hand. Renderos attacked directly with all his monsters, wiping out Whatley’s Life Points!

Oscar Renderos takes a huge win in the first Duel. The Duelists moved to their Side Decks immediately, and after a few moments, we were undeway again.

Duel 2

Whatley started with a Set monster and a back row card.

Renderos’s hand Solemn Warning, Zektaliber, Ladybug, Mystical Space Typhoon, Safe Zone, and Inzektor Centipede. He destroyed Whatley’s Safe Zone with Mystical Space Typhoon and Normal Summoned Centipede. He equipped it with Ladybug and made it Level 5, adding Inzektor Hornet to his hand. He attacked Whatley’s Sangan, which gave Whatley a Dragonfly. Renderos Set Warning and Safe Zone, then played Zektaliber on Centipede.

Whatley Normal Summoned Dragonfly and Renderos negated the Summon with Solemn Warning.

Renderos drew another Centipede. His on-field one equipped Ladybug from the Graveyard, and it became Level 6 with Ladybug’s effect. Centipede added Dragonfly to the hand, and it equipped Ladybug. It became Level 5 and Whatley Chained Maxx “C”. Dragonfly Special Summoned Hopper. Dragonfly attacked directly and Whatley had Gorz the Emissary of Darkness! Renderos destroyed the Token in battle with Centipede, then Hopper equipped Hornet in Main Phase 2. Hornet destroyed Gorz.

Whatley played Dark Hole! He Normal Summoned Hopper and equipped Hornet from his hand, and Hornet destroyed Safe Zone.

Renderos Normal Summoned Centipede and equipped Ladybug. It destroyed Hopper in battle, then Ladybug made it Level 4. Centipede’s effect put Inzektor Giga-Mantis in Renderos’s hand.

Whatley Normal Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and Set a back row. Thunder King Rai-Oh destroyed Centipede.

Renderos drew Tour Guide From the Underworld. He Normal Summoned Dragonfly and equipped Hornet, then equipped Giga-Mantis. Hornet destroyed Giga-Mantis. Giga-Mantis revived Hopper, and Dragonfly Special Summoned another Hopper and a Centipede. Centipede equipped Hornet, which destroyed Thunder King Rai-Oh. Centipede gave him Ladybug. Hopper used Hornet to destroy the Set card and it was Chained: Threatening Roar. Renderos stacked Centipede and Dragonfly for Wind-Up Zenmaines in defense position, then equipped Hopper with Ladybug from the Graveyard.

Whatley Normal Summoned Ladybug and equipped Hornet. Hornet destroyed the equipped Hopper and he Set a back row card.

Renderos drew The Seal of Orichalcos! He equipped Hopper with Hornet to destroy Whatley’s Call of the Haunted, which was Chained to revive Sangan. Sangan went down and Whatley got Tour Guide From the Underworld to his hand. Hopper destroyed Ladybug in battle and Renderos Set Ladybug.

Whatley Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld to Special Summon a second one. He stacked them for Temtempo the Percussion Djinn, which stole a material from Zenmaines. Temtempo destroyed Hopper in battle.

Renderos drew Solemn Judgment, and finally, FINALLY, he activated The Seal of Orichalcos!

Now it’s on for real! Whatley Chained Temtempo the Percussion Djinn’s effect to steal Zenmaines’s last material, and Orichalcos destroyed Zenmaines. Renderos Flip Summoned Ladybug and equipped it with Hornet to destroy Temtempo. Then he Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld to bring out Sangan. He attacked with Ladybug, Sangan, and Tour Guide, all bolstered by The Seal of Orichalcos! Whatley only had 1400 Life Points remaining. Renderos Set Solemn Judgment.

Whatley played Pot of Duality, choosing Inzektor Sword – Zektkaliber instead of Maxx “C” or another Duality. He Set his Sword and played his final remaining card, Allure of Darkness, but Renderos negated it with Solemn Judgment!

Renderos equipped Ladybug with another Ladybug to power it up, and attacked directly with his Ladybug’d Ladybug, boosted further by the unlimited power of The Seal of Orichalcos! Oscar Renderos is victorious with the power of Orichalcos!
