It’s the final round of Day! Justin Franklin is from Baton Rouge, LA, and he’s packing . William Isley made the trip from Arizona, and is playing with a HERO Deck featuring quite a few new cards.

Duel 1

Isley began the last round with 2 Gemini Sparks, Photon Thrasher, Crusader of Endymion, E – Emergency Call, and Pot of Duality. He played it to reveal another Pot of Duality, Solemn Judgment, and another E – Emergency Call. He took Judgment. He played Crusader, then Set Judgment and both Sparks.

Franklin played his own Pot of Duality, revealing 2 copies of Elemental HERO Bubbleman and a Miracle Fusion. He played Alius and attacked Crusader, hoping to bait out a response. He played Gemini Spark to target Crusader, but Isley Chained his own Spark, targeting Franklin’s copy. Isley drew another Spark with its effect, and Franklin drew nothing since the targeted card wasn’t destroyed.

Isley drew his own Miracle Fusion. He Special Summoned Photon Thrasher and used E – Emergency Call to get Elemental HERO Stratos to his hand. He played that for Bubbleman. He Set his Spark and Miracle Fusion so he could Special Summon Bubbleman, then stacked it and Thrasher for Blade Armor Ninja! He detached Bubbleman so the Ninja could attack twice, activated Miracle Fusion, and Franklin conceded!

William Isley takes the first Duel after using Gemini Spark to destroy Gemini Spark and draw Gemini Spark! The Duelists moved to their Side Decks, and Isley sided in a copy of Super Polymerization. That will definitely make for some interesting situations in this mirror match!

Duel 2

Franklin played Thunder King Rai-Oh with 2 back row cards.

Isley had Crusader, Bubbleman, Reinforcement of the Army, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Mirror Force, and Monster Reborn. He played Crusader and crashed it into Rai-Oh, then stole it with Monster Reborn, but it was banished by Bottomless Trap Hole. He Set Mirror Force and Reinforcement of the Army.

Franklin played another Rai-Oh, and it attacked. When Isley played Mirror Force, Franklin negated it with Dark Bribe! Isley got a Trap Stun from Bribe.

Isley drew another Rai-Oh, and once again, used it to trade with Franklin’s Rai-Oh. In played Reinforcement of the Army in Main Phase 2 for Photon Thrasher and Special Summoned it. He Set Trap Stun.

Franklin played his own Reinforcement of the Army to get his own Thrasher, and sent it on a kamikaze attack into Isley’s Thrasher! He played Elemental HERO Neos Alius in Main Phase 2.

Isley drew Gorz the Emissary of Darkness. He Normal Summoned Rai-Oh and crashed that into Neos Alius!

Franklin played E – Emergency Call to add Elemental HERO Stratos to his hand, then played it to get Neos Alius. Stratos attacked directly, and Isley activated Trap Stun. With his field clear, he Special Summoned Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, and an 1800 ATK Emissary of Darkness Token in defense position. Franklin Set a card to his back row.

Isley drew E – Emergency Call. He sent Gorz to destroy Stratos.

Franklin’s Neos Alius destroyed the token next turn.

Isley drew Miracle Fusion. He it and his Emergency Call, and Special Summoned Bubbleman. Emergency Call gave him Stratos. He used its effect to destroy Franklin’s Super Polymerization. Isley Xyz Summoned Blade Armor Ninja and detached Stratos to give Ninja an extra attack, then played Miracle Fusion to Fusion Summon Elemental HERO The Shining! The Shining attacked Neos Alius, and Franklin responded with Gemini Spark, Tributing Neos Alius to destroy Blade Armor Ninja. The Shining attacked directly instead, and Gorz followed.

Franklin played Super Polymerization, discarding Solemn Warning to fuse Gorz and The Shining for his own Elemental HERO Escuridao! It attacked directly, and Franklin backed it up with two back row cards.

Isley drew and Set Honest.

Franklin destroyed it.

Isley drew and Set Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Franklin attacked with Escuridao. When Isley tried to his Evacuation Device, Franklin kept Escuridao on the field with Forbidden Lance! The attack was successful, finishing off Isley’s Life Points!

Justin Franklin battles back to even the  score! We’re moving on to a third Duel!

Duel 3

Isley began the final Duel with 2 Gemini Sparks, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Pot of Duality, Miracle Fusion, and E – Emergency Call. Duality revealed Dimensional Prison, Rai-Oh, and Bubbleman, and Isley quickly chose Prison. He Set the Prison and a Spark, then played Rai-Oh.

Franklin cleared the back row with Heavy Storm, then Set one back row card of his own.

Isley drew Dark Bribe. He Set it and Spark and passed without attacking.

Franklin Set a back row card.

Isley drew Super Polymerization. Rai-Oh attacked directly, and he Set Super Polymerization.

Franklin Set a third card to his back row.

Isley drew Heavy Storm and Rai-Oh struck once again.

Franklin Set a fourth back row card and a monster.

Isley drew and played Neos Alius. Franklin played Torrential Tribute, Isley played Dark Bribe, and Franklin played his own Bribe! Isley drew Mirror Force, and Torrential Tribute cleared the field, including Franklin’s face-down Bubbleman. Isley played Miracle Fusion next, banishing Neos Alius and Rai-Oh for The Shining, and it attacked directly. Franklin had only 1300 Life Points remaining, but Isley’s were untouched. He Set Mirror Force.

Franklin used E – Emergency Call to search out Neos Alius. He played it and used Spark to destroy The Shining. Isley got Neos Alius back to his hand with The Shining’s effect. Franklin continued with Miracle Fusion, banishing Bubbleman and Neos Alius to Fusion Summon Elemental HERO Absolute Zero! Absolute Zero attacked, Isley played Mirror Force, and Franklin had Forbidden Lance! He Set two to his back row.

Isley drew Reinforcement of the Army. He Set Neos Alius, then played Super Polymerization. He discarded E – Emergency Call for its cost, then fused Absolute Zero to his Neos Alius for his own Absolute Zero. Franklin’s Zero destroyed Isley’s, then Isley played Heavy Storm to destroy Franklin’s Torrential Tribute and Forbidden Lance. Finally, Isley played Reinforcement of the Army to add Bubbleman to his hand. He Special Summoned it, and since it was his only card he got to draw two more cards! He got Dark Hole and Neos Alius. Bubbleman attacked directly, dropping Franklin to merely 500 Life Points.

Franklin Special Summoned Photon Thrasher and destroyed Bubbleman, then Set a back row card.

Isley drew Noble Knight Gawayn! He played Dark Hole to take out Thrasher, then Normal Summoned Neos Alius, but Franklin had Solemn Judgment!

Franklin drew, this new card the only thing he had. It was Miracle Fusion! He banished Absolute Zero and Photon Thrasher for The Shining and attacked, putting Isley down to 1500.

Isley drew Monster Reborn! He revive Neos Alius, then Special Summoned Gawayn for Gagaga Cowboy in defense position! It fired off 800 damage to get past The Shining and win the Match!

William Isley finishes the final Duel of the final Match of Day 1 using his Cowboy! Only in Texas!
