George Weber and Raymond Bauzon are both local New Jersey Duelists with 8-1 records. Weber is using an Evilswarm Deck that was recently made possible by Hidden Arsenal 7: Knight of Stars. Unlike the many of the Evilswarm Decks we featured earlier in the weekend, Weber has chosen to forego using Dinosaurs in his Decks, and is focused on an all-out Evilswarm strategy. His opponent, Raymond Bauzon, is using a Fire Fist Deck that includes Sabersaurus for access to Evolzar Laggia and Evolzar Dolkka. Fire Fists are generally tough for Evilswarms to defeat, given how easily Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear destroys Evilswarm Ophion; but Weber is looking to score an upset in this Match and secure a 9-1 record. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Bauzon started off Duel 1 by activating Fire Formation – Tenki and using its effect to add Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear from his Deck to his hand. Next, he activated Pot of Duality, revealing Heavy Storm, Torrential Tribute, and Mirror Force from the top of his Deck. He added the Heavy Storm to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Bauzon Summoned Gene-Warped Warwolf and Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Weber opened up with Solemn Warning, Dark Hole, D.D. Warrior Lady, Dimensional Prison, and 2 copies of Fiendish Chain.

He activated Dark Hole to destroy Gene-Warped Warwolf and then Set Dimensional Prison before ending his turn.

Bauzon Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear and attacked directly with it; but Weber flipped Dimensional Prison to banish the bear. Bauzon Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Weber drew Infestation Pandemic next turn. He Summoned D.D. Warrior Lady and attacked directly with it, prompting Bauzon to activated Dimensional Prison to banish her. Weber Set Solemn Warning before passing.

Bauzon attempted to Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear, but Weber flipped Solemn Warning and gave up 2000 Life Points to negate its Summon.

Weber drew Evilswarm Castor next turn. He Set Fiendish Chain and then ended his turn.

Bauzon Summoned Sabersaurus and attacked directly with it, dropping Weber down to 4100 Life Points.

Weber drew another Evilswarm Castor next turn and Summoned it. Bauzon activated Fiendish Chain to negate its effect, but Weber Chained Infestation Pandemic to make his monster immune to Fiendish Chain. Next, Weber activated the effect of his Castor to Summon another copy from his hand, and combined both Castors to Xyz Summon Maestroke the Symphony Djinn. He detached an Xyz Material from Maestroke to put Sabersaurus face-down and then destroyed it in battle with Maestroke.

Bauzon Set 2 cards to his back row and passed.

Weber drew Rescue Rabbit next turn! He tried to Summon it, but Bauzon flipped Solemn Judgment and gave up 4000 Life Points to negate its Summon. Maestroke attacked next, and Bauzon flipped Fiendish Chain to stop its attack and negate Maestroke’s effects.
Bauzon activated Dark Hole to destroy Maestroke and then used Heavy Storm to clear the field of back rows! He Summoned Rescue Rabbit next, and activated its effect by banishing it to Special Summon 2 copies of Sabersaurus from his Deck. He attacked directly with both copies of Sabersaurus, dropping Weber down to 300 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Bauzon combined both Sabersaurus to Xyz Summon Gagaga Cowboy in Defense Position!

It was all over moments later, when Bauzon detached an Xyz Material from his Cowboy to deal 800 points of damage to Weber.

Duel Two

Weber opened up Duel 2 with Dimensional Prison, Tour Guide From the Underworld, 2 copies of Evilswarm Castor, and 2 copies of Evilswarm Thunderbird.

He Summoned his Thunderbird and then Set a Dimensional Prison before ending his turn.

Bauzon activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy the Dimensional Prison and then Summoned Gene-Warped Warwolf. He attacked Thunderbird with his Warwolf to destroy it and then activated Fire Formation – Tenki to add Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear from his Deck to his hand. Bauzon Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

Weber drew Evilswarm Heliotrope next turn. He Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated her effect to Special Summon another Tour Guide from his Deck. Next, he combined both Tour Guides to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Zenmaines in Defense Position.

Bauzon Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear next turn. He combined his Bear with his Warwolf to Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Tiger King and then used Tiger King’s effect to Set Tenki from his Deck. Next, he flipped Tenki to add another Bear from his Deck to his hand. He detached an Xyz Material from Tiger King next, in order to negate Zenmaines’s effect. He attacked Zenmaines with Tiger King to destroy it and then ended his turn.

Weber drew another Heliotrope next turn. He Summoned Evilswarm Castor, but Bauzon flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to banish it.

Bauzon Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear next turn and then attacked directly with Bear and Tiger King to drop Weber down to 3450 Life Points. Bauzon used his Bear’s effect to Set another Tenki from his Deck. Bauzon Set another card to his back row in Main Phase 2 and then flipped his Tenki to add another Bear to his hand.

Weber drew Overworked next turn! He tried to Summon Evilswarm Castor, but lost out to Bauzon’s Solemn Warning. Weber Set Overworked before entering his End Phase, hoping to use it to clear the field, but lost out to Bauzon’s Dust Tornado!

Knowing he was defeated, George Weber extended the handshake. Raymond Bauzon is moving on with an 8-2 record using Fire Fists!
