Nolan Galvao is from San Lorenzo, and won the Dragon Duel winner yesterday. He’s up against Kozavid Duncan, a San Leandro Duelist who won in today’s Dragon Duel tournament. These two victors are now battling for the title of YCS San Mateo Dragon Duel Champion!

Duel 1

Kozavid began with Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow, Maxx “C”, Mystical Space Typhoon, Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor, Icarus Attack, and Compulsory Evacuation Device. He Set Vayu and all the spells and traps.

Nolan played Battlin’ Boxer Headgeared! He sent Battlin’ Boxer Glassjaw to the Graveyard with its effect. Next he played Kaiser Colosseum and Set a back row card.

Kozavid drew Bottomless Trap Hole and Set it.

Nolan played Battlin’ Boxer Switchitter, and Kozavid Chained Maxx “C” to draw Blackwing – Shura the Blue Flame when Glassjaw hit the field. Kozavid flipped Icarus Attack next, Tributing Vayu to destroy Headgeared and Switchitter. Glassjaw attacked directly. In the End Phase, Kozavid used Mystical Space Typhoon on the face-down card, but Nolan Chained it, a Mystical Space Typhoon of his own. He targeted Compulsory Evacuation Device, and Kozavid Chained it to bounce Glassjaw.

Kozavid drew Maxx “C”. He played Shura and attacked directly.

Nolan destroyed Bottomless Trap Hole with Mystical Space Typhoon. He played Masked Chameleon, then Pot of Duality. He took Compulsory Evacuation Device instead of Bottomless Trap Hole or Headgeared. He Set a back row card and passed.

Kozavid drew Mirror Force. Shura attacked and was bounced away by Compulsory Evacuation Device, and Kozavid Summoned it again, backed by Mirror Force.

Nolan Normal Summoned Glassjaw, and Kozavid used his Maxx “C”. Glassjaw attacked, and Kozavid used Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow to win the battle (Shura couldn’t activate due to Kaiser Colosseum).

Kozavid drew Delta Crow – Anti Reverse. He destroyed Masked Chameleon with Shura, and Special Summoned Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind from his Deck. Gale attacked, then he Synchro Summoned Blackwing Armor Master! He Set Delta Crow to finish.

Nolan played Switchitter, which brought Glassjaw to the field. He stacked his Boxers for Battlin’ Boxer Lead Yoke, and passed.

Kozavid drew and played Pot of Duality, revealing Fiendish Chain, Black Whirlwind, and Torrential Tribute. He took Fiendish Chain and Set it.

Nolan Set a back row card, then played Headgeared. He sent Glassjaw to the Graveyard. In the End Phase, Delta Crow destroyed Nolan’s Fiendish Chain.

Kozavid drew Shura. He played it and attacked Headgeared with it. Headgeared survived with its effect, but Armor Master took it down.

Nolan played another Switchitter, and Kozavid flipped Fiendish Chain to negate it. Lead Yoke attacked Shura, destroying it.

Kozavid drew Black Whirlwind. Armor Master attacked Switchitter, and he Set Whirlwind.

Nolan played Reinforcement of the Army, adding Switchitter. He played it and brought back Glassjaw, then stacked them for another Lead Yoke, still unable to get over Armor Master.

Kozavid drew another Whirlwind. Armor Master attacked a Lead Yoke, and Nolan banished Battlin’ Boxer Counterpunch from his hand to power it up. Kozavid Set the Whirlwind.

Nolan turned both Lead Yokes to defense position and Set a back row card. He Summoned Glassjaw to finish.

Kozavid drew Blackwing – Bora the Spear. He flipped both Whirlwinds and played Bora, but lost it to Nolan’s Bottomless Trap Hole. Armor Master destroyed Glassjaw, which added Switchitter to his hand.

Nolan discarded Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos and Switchitter to finally destroy Armor Master! Lead Yoke attacked, Kozavid tried to use Mirror Force, and both Lead Yokes saved themselves and powered up, finishing the first Duel!

After a long standoff, Nolan Galvao is triumphant! Kozavid Duncan’s got to win two in a row now.

Duel 2

Kozavid started off with Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North, Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow, Blackwing – Shura the Blue Flame, Dark Armed Dragon, Solemn Warning, and drew a second Kalut. He played Shura and Set Warning.

Pot of Duality from Nolan revealed Switchitter and 2 Counterpunch. He took Switchitter, then used Dark Hole to wipe out Shura. He played Glassjaw and attacked for 2000 damage, then played Kaiser Colosseum, Level Limit – Area B, and a back row card.

Kozavid drew Icarus Attack. He Set it and Kalut.

Nolan Set another back row card, and in the End Phase Kozavid flipped Icarus Attack. He Tributed Kalut to destroy both Continuous Spell Cards.

Kozavid drew Compulsory Evacuation Device. He played Blizzard, but lost it to Solemn Warning. He Set Compulsory Evacuation Device and passed.

Glassjaw attacked directly again, dropping Kozavid to 4000. Nolan played another Kaiser Colosseum.

Kozavid drew Gale and played Dark Armed Dragon. Nolan used Torrential Tribute, but Kozavid had  Compulsory Evacuation Device save Dark Armed Dragon, and he played it again! It attacked directly.

Nolan played Switchitter and lost it to Solemn Warning. He Set his last card to his back row.

Kozavid drew Kalut, and Dark Armed Dragon destroyed the bluffed Reinforcement of the Army. Gale came down, we were moving to a third Duel!

Kozavid makes a huge play with Dark Armed Dragon and Compulsory Evacuation Device, securing his victory! Whoever wins this next Duel will be YCS San Mateo’s Dragon Duel Champion!

Duel 3

Nolan played Glassjaw, then Special Summoned Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer. He stacked them for Battlin’ Boxer Lead Yoke, then backed it with a face-down spell or trap.

Kozavid had Mystical Space Typhoon, Pot of Duality, Shura, Bora, Dark Armed Dragon, and Dark Hole. Mystical Space Typhoon destroyed Nolan’s Set Fiendish Chain. Pot of Duality was next, revealing D.D. Crow, Icarus Attack, and Torrential Tribute. He chose Icarus Attack. He Set Bora and Icarus Attack.

Nolan played Foolish Burial, sending Switchitter to the Graveyard. He used Dark Hole next, and Lead Yoke used its effect to survive, detaching Glassjaw. That let him get back Switchitter, which he played to revive Glassjaw! The three monsters attacked directly, then in Main Phase 2 Nolan Xyz Summoned another Lead Yoke! He Set a back row card.

Kozavid drew Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite. He activated Dark Hole, and each Lead Yoke survived with their effects. He Set Zephyros and passed.

Nolan flipped Pot of Duality, showing Headgeared, Fiendish Chain, and Glassjaw. He took Headgeared. He used Mystical Space Typhoon next, and Kozavid Chained Icarus Attack. One Lead Yoke survived, but the other had no Xyz Materials left. One was all he needed though, because when Nolan sent Lead Yoke to attack, he became your YCS San Mateo Dragon Duel Champion, with Battlin’ Boxers!
