Juneja is using a typical Dragon Ruler Deck, teched out with Non Aggression Area. Boyd is playing an Evilswarm Deck that can lock down opposing Dragon Ruler with Evilswarm Ophion. Only one of these Duelists will advance to Day 2 with a perfect 9-0 record. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Juneja activated Dragon Ravine and discarded Trigon with its effect to send Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms from his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, he replaced his Dragon Ravine with another copy and used his new Ravine’s effect to discard Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders and send Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos from his Deck to his Graveyard. He banished Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms and Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos to Special Summon Redox from his Graveyard and added Debris Dragon and Blaster from his Deck to his hand with the effects of his banished monsters. Juneja Summoned Debris Dragon next, and used its effect to Special Summon Trigon from his Graveyard. He Tuned Debris Dragon with Trigon to Synchro Summon Ancient Fairy Dragon in Defense Position and then used Ancient Fairy Dragon’s effect to destroy his own Dragon Ravine and gain 1000 Life Points. He activated another Dragon Ravine next, and discarded Blaster to add Dragunity Corsesca from his Deck to his hand. He activated the effect of Ancient Fairy Dragon to Special Summon Dragunity Corsesca from his hand next, and then combined Ancient Fairy Dragon with Blaster to Xyz Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack in Attack Position! He detached Blaster from Dracossack to Special Summon 2 Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens and then Tuned Corsesca with a Token to Synchro Summon Armory Arm. He equipped Dracossack with Armory Arm before ending his turn.

Boyd opened up with Evilswarm Thunderbird, Bottomless Trap Hole, Infestation Pandemic, Evilswarm Kerykeion, and 2 copies of Evilswarm Heliotrope. He conceded before making a single move, disheartened by Juneja’s powerful first turn. He opted to move into Duel 2 while concealing his Deck-type from his opponent, instead of fighting against overwhelming odds.

Duel Two

Boyd opened up Duel 2 with Forbidden Dress, Dark Illusion, Evilswarm Ketos, Evilswarm Heliotrope, Evilswarm Obliviwisp, and Evilswarm Thunderbird. He Set Forbidden Dress and Dark Illusion along with Evilswarm Obliviwisp before passing his first turn.

Juneja activated Dragon Ravine and discarded Tempest to activate its effect and send Tidal from his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, he banished Tempest and Tidal to Special Summon Blaster from his hand, and used the effects of his banished Dragons to add Tempest and Tidal from his Deck to his hand. Blaster attacked and destroyed Boyd’s face-down Obliviwisp, and Obliviwisp negated Blaster’s effect. He Set 2 cards before entering his End Phase, and Obliviwisp stopped Blaster from returning to Juneja’s hand in the End Phase.

Boyd drew another Evilswarm Heliotrope next turn. He Summoned Evilswarm Thunderbird and then ended his turn.

Juneja attacked and destroyed Thunderbird with Blaster. Next, he activated Sacred Sword of Seven Stars by banishing Tempest from his hand and drew 2 cards. He used the effect of his banished Tempest to add Dragunity Corsesca from his Deck to his hand. Finally, he discarded Tidal from his hand to activate the effect of his Ravine and send Tempest from his Deck to his Graveyard.

Boyd drew Infestation Infection next turn. He Summoned Evilswarm Ketos and Tributed it to destroy Juneja’s face-down Non Aggression Area. He Set Infestation Infection, but lost it to Juneja’s Mystical Space Typhoon in the End Phase.

Juneja activated Sacred Sword of Seven Stars to banish Redox from his hand and draw 2 cards from his Deck. He added another Redox to his hand with the effect of his banished Redox. Next, he banished Tidal and Tempest to Special Summon Blaster from his hand. He used the effects of Tidal and Tempest to add Debris Dragon and Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls from his Deck to his hand. Juneja attacked directly with both copies of Blaster, dropping Boyd down to 1300 Life Points. Juneja activated Return from the Different Dimension next, and Boyd instantly conceded.
