Saturday’s Dragon Duel Feature Match: Steve Zepeda vs. Thomas Wakeley
Steve Zepeda from Pennsylvania is Dueling against Thomas Wakely from New Jersey in the final round of this Dragon Duel Tournament! Although both Duelists are positioned for a Top 4 finish, only one of them can become Saturday’s Dragon Duel Champion!
Duel One
Zepeda opened up with Kaiser Colisseum, Honest, Fire Formation – Tenki, Bujin Yamato, Bujin Mikazuchi, and Mirror Force. He activated Fire Formation – Tenki to add Bujin Yamato from his Deck to his hand, Set Mirror Force face-down, Summoned Bujin Yamato, and then activated Kaiser Colisseum. In his End Phase, Zepeda added Bujingi Turtle from his Deck to his hand and then discarded it with the effect of Bujin Yamato.
Wakeley Summoned Goblindbergh and Set 2 cards to his back row.
Zepeda drew Fiendish Chain and Set it. He Summoned Bujin Mikazuchi, and when Wakeley activated Compulsory Evacuation Device to target Mikazuchi and try to return it to Zepeda’s hand, Zepeda banished his Turtle from his Graveyard to negate Compulsory Evacuation Device. Next, Wakeley activated Fiendish Chain to negate Bujin Yamato’s effect. Zepeda combined Yamato with Mikazuchi to Xyz Summon Bujintei Kagutsuchi. He sent the top 5 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard, bringing his Xyz Monster up to 2800 ATK. He attacked Goblindbergh with his Bujintei Kagutshuchi, dropping Wakeley down to 6600 Life Points.
Wakeley activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Kaiser Colisseum and then Normal Summoned Battlin’ Boxer Glassjaw. He Special Summoned Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer next, and combined his Sparrer with his Glassjaw to Xyz Summon Battlin’ Boxer Lead Yoke. Wakeley tried attacking with Lead Yoke, and Zepeda flipped Fiendish Chain to stop the attack and negate the effects of Lead Yoke.
Zepeda drew another Fiendish Chain next turn and then Summoned Bujin Yamato to the field. He attacked Lead Yoke with his Xyz Monster to destroy it, and then attacked directly with Yamato to drop Wakeley down to 4100 Life Points. Zepeda added Bujingi Quilin to his hand and discarded it with the effect of Yamato in the End Phase.
Wakeley Set a monster and passed.
Zepeda drew Dark Hole. He attacked and destroyed Wakeley’s face-down Battlin’ Boxer Rib Gardna with Kagutsuchi and then attacked directly with Yamato to drop Wakeley down to 1300 Life Points. In the End Phase, Zepeda added another Quilin to his hand and discarded it with the effect of his Yamato.
Wakeley Set a card to his back row and passed.
Zepeda finished Wakeley off with a direct attack from Bujin Yamato on his next turn!

Duel Two
Wakeley started off Duel 2 by Setting a card to each zone.
Zepeda opened up Duel 2 with Bujingi Turtle, Bujin Yamato, Kaiser Colisseum, Forbidden Lance, Bujincarnation, and Bujingi Crane. He Summoned Yamato and then activated Kaiser Colisseum. He attacked Wakeley’s face-down monster with Yamato, but Wakeley flipped Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to block the attack and flip his Scarecrow back face-down. Zepeda added Bujingi Crane from his Deck to his hand in the End Phase, and discarded it with Bujin Yamato’s effect.
Wakeley activated Reinforcement of the Army to add Battlin’ Boxer Headgear from his Deck to his hand.
Zepeda drew Bujin Regalia – The Sword next turn and Set it. He attacked again with his Yamato, this time destroying Wakeley’s face-down Battlin’ Boxer Rabbit Puncher.
Wakeley Summoned Battlin’ Boxer Headgeared next turn and used its effect to send Battlin’ Boxer Counterpunch from his Deck to his Graveyard. He attacked Yamato with Headgeared and banished Counterpunch from his Graveyard to boost his monster’s ATK; but Zepeda discarded Crane from his hand to increase his monster’s ATK even higher! Headgeared wasn’t destroyed by the battle, due to its effect.
Zepeda drew Mystical Space Typhoon next turn. He activated it to destroy Wakeley’s face-down Scrap-Iron Scarecrow and then banished Bujingi Quilon from his Graveyard to destroy Battlin’ Boxer Headgeared. He attacked directly with Yamato next, dropping Wakeley down to 4600 Life Points. In the End Phase, Zepeda added Bujingi Turtle from his Deck to his hand and discarded it with Yamato’s effect.
Wakeley Summoned another Battlin’ Boxer Headgeared next turn and used its effect to send another Battlin’ Boxer Counterpunch from his Deck to his hand. Once again, he attacked Yamato and banished Counterpunch from his Graveyard to increase its ATK; but Zepeda discarded Crane from his hand to make his monster stronger!
Zepeda drew Bujin Mikazuchi. Next, he activated his face-down Bujin Regalia – The Sword to put Quilon back into his Graveyard from his Banished Zone, and he banished Quilon to destroy Headgeared. Finally, he Summoned Bujin Mikazuchi. Direct attacks from Yamato and Mikazuchi finished Wakeley off!
Steve Zepeda wins 2-0 to remain undefeated and become Saturday’s Dragon Duel Champion with Bujins!
