Shawn Rai from Valley Stream on Long Island is Dueling against David Tse from Princeton, New Jersey in the Finals of our first Starter Deck Yugi & Kaiba Reloaded Tournament! Shawn Rai is taking on the role of Yugi in this Feature Match, while Tse is taking on the role of Kaiba. Will Kaiba finally be able to defeat Yugi, or will Yugi once again emerge victorious in this Duel between rivals!

Duel One

 

Yugi opened up with 4-Starred Ladybug of Doom, Call of the Haunted, Breaker the Magical Warrior, Magical Dimension, Dark Magician, and Silent Swordsman LV3. He Set his Ladybug along with Call of the Haunted before passing to Kaiba.

 

 

Kaiba activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Call of the Haunted. He activated Tribute to the Doomed next, discarding Twin-Headed Behemoth to destroy Yugi’s face-down Ladybug.

 

“It’s bad luck to destroy a Ladybug, Kaiba.”   -Yugi

 

Finally, Kaiba Summoned Vorse Raider and attacked directly. He Set a back row before ending his turn.

 

Yugi drew Double Coston next turn. He Summoned Breaker the Magical Warrior and then gave up its Spell Counter to try to destroy Kaiba’s face-down Enemy Controller. Kaiba Chained Enemy Controller to switch Breaker into Defense Position. Next, Yugi used Magical Dimension. He Tributed his Breaker to destroy Vorse Raider and Special Summon the Dark Magician from his hand!

 

“Come forth, Dark Magician!”   -Yugi

 

He attacked directly with the Dark Magician, dropping Kaiba down to 5500 Life Points.

 

Kaiba Set a monster and passed his turn.

 

Yugi drew Skilled Dark Magician next turn! He attacked Yomi Ship with his Dark Magician, and Yomi Ship destroyed the Magician with its effect.

 

“Hahaha! Just like that, your Dark Magician is destroyed!”   -Kaiba

 

Yugi Summoned Silent Swordsman LV3 in Main Phase 2.

 

Kaiba Summoned Mad Dog of Darkness.

 

“Your Swordsman is no match for my Mad Dog of Darkness, Yugi!”   -Kaiba

 

Kaiba attacked Yugi’s Swordsman with his Mad Dog of Darkness to destroy it in battle.

 

Yugi drew Mirror Force next turn. He Set it along with Double Coston and passed.

 

Kaiba attacked the face-down Double Coston with Mad Dog of Darkness.

 

“I activate my Trap Card!”   -Yugi

 

Yugi used Mirror Force to destroy it! Kaiba Set a monster in Main Phase 2.

 

Yugi Flip Summoned Double Coston and attacked into Kaiba’s face-down Aquua Madoor. Yugi lost 300 Life Points in the battle, and Set Magic Cylinder before passing back to Kaiba.

 

“It’s your move!”   -Yugi

 

Kaiba Tributed Aqua Madoor for Tiger Dragon and attacked Double Coston; but Yugi flipped Magic Cylinder to negate the attack and deal 2400 points of damage to Kaiba!

 

Yugi drew Mystical Space Typhoon and Set it. He switched his Double Coston to Defense Position before ending his turn.

 

Kaiba Set a card to his back row and Summoned Cybernetic Cyclopean. He attacked Yugi’s Double Coston with his Cyclopean to destroy it, and then attacked directly with Tiger Dragon, dropping Yugi down to 2800 Life Points. In Kaiba’s End Phase, Yugi activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Kaiba’s face-down Shrink!

 

“Heart of the cards, guide me!”   -Yugi

 

Against all odds, Yugi drew Dark Hole! He used it to destroy all of Kaiba’s monsters, leaving Kaiba with nothing on his field or in his hand! Next, he Summoned the Skilled Dark Magician and attacked directly, dropping Kaiba down to 900 Life Points.

 

Kaiba drew Shadow Spell and Set it.

 

Yugi drew Kuriboh and tried to attack with Skilled Dark Magician, but Kaiba flipped Shadow Spell to block the attack and reduce the ATK of the Skilled Dark Magician by 700.

 

Kaiba drew a card and passed his turn.

 

Yugi drew Ancient Rules and Set it.

 

Kaiba drew a card and passed.

 

Yugi drew Black Pendant! He Summoned Kuriboh and equipped it with Black Pendant, dropping Kaiba down to 100 Life Points!

 

 

Kaiba Set a monster and then passed.

 

Yugi drew Trap Hole and Set it.

 

Kaiba Set a card to his back row and passed.

 

Yugi Tributed Kuriboh to Summon The Tricky on his next turn, and Black Pendant was sent to the Graveyard, inflicting 500 points of damage to Kaiba! With only 100 Life Points left, Kaiba’s Life Points were reduced to zero, and Yugi won the first Duel!

Kaiba faces defeat at the hands of Yugi’s Kuriboh / Black Pendant combo, and chooses to go first in Duel 2!

 

Duel Two

 

Kaiba started off Duel 2 by Summoning X-Head Cannon and Setting 2 cards to his back row.

 

 

Yugi opened up Duel 2 with Black Pendant, Yellow Gadget, Zero Gravity, Buster Blader, Mystical Elf, and Silent Swordsman LV5. He Set Mystical Elf and Zero Gravity before passing.

 

Kaiba Summoned La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp and attacked Mystical Elf with it. After Yugi revealed its 2000 DEF, Kaiba flipped Rush Recklessly to increase La Jinn’s ATK and destroy the Elf.

 

“You call that a monster, Yugi? How pathetic.”   -Kaiba

 

A direct attack from X-Head Cannon dropped Yugi down to 6200 Life Points.

 

Yugi drew Summoned Skull next turn. He Summoned Yellow Gadget and activated its effect to add a Green Gadget from his Deck to his hand. Next, he ended his turn.

 

Kaiba attacked Yellow Gadget with La Jinn next turn, and Yugi activated Zero Gravity to change the battle position of all monsters on the field. Kaiba Summoned Battle Ox in Attack Position and Set a back row before passing.

 

Yugi drew Silent Swordsman LV3 and then Tributed his Yellow Gadget to Summon Summoned Skull. He attacked with his Summoned Skull, but lost his monster to Kaiba’s Sakuretsu Armor. Yugi Set Black Pendant before ending his turn.

 

Kaiba switched all of his monsters into Attack Position and then Summoned Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4. Direct attacks from all of Kaiba’s monsters finished Yugi off!

 

 

“You’re finished, Yugi!”   -Kaiba

 

Kaiba completely overpowers Yugi in Duel 2, pushing the Match to a final Duel! Yugi will be going first in Duel 3!

 

Duel Three

 

Yugi opened up Duel 3 with Book of Moon, Mystical Elf, Shard of Greed, The Tricky, Silent Swordsman LV5, and Magic Cylinder. He Set his Mystical Elf, Set Magic Cylinder, and activated Shard of Greed before ending his turn.

 

Kaiba activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Yugi’s Magic Cylinder and then Normal Summoned Des Mosquito, adding 2 counters to it. He Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

 

Yugi drew Old Vindictive Magician and added a Greed Counter to his Shard of Greed. He Set Book of Moon next turn.

 

Kaiba Summoned Vanguard of the Dragon and attacked into Yugi’s face-down Mystical Elf with it. He lost 300 Life Points in the battle.

 

Yugi drew Dark Magician Girl next turn and then sent Shard of Greed to the Graveyard to draw Waboku and Giant Soldier of Stone from his Deck. He Set Old Vindictive Magician and Waboku before passing.

 

Kaiba used Vanguard of the Dragon’s effect to send Luster Dragon from his hand to his Graveyard and have it gain 300 ATK. He attacked Old Vindictive Magician, and his Vanguard of the Dragon was destroyed by the Magician’s Flip Effect.

 

Yugi drew Green Gadget next turn and Summoned it. He attacked Kaiba’s face-down Yomi Ship with Green Gadget, and neither monster was destroyed.

 

Kaiba Summoned Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4 next turn! He attacked Green Gadget with Horus and Yugi used Waboku to protect his monster.

 

Yugi drew Silent Swordsman LV3 next turn. He Tributed his Green Gadget to Summon Dark Magician Girl and then attacked Horus with his Dark Magician Girl. He used Book of Moon to put Horus face-down, in case Kaiba had Shrink Set. Horus was destroyed in battle by the Dark Magician Girl.

 

Kaiba Summoned Battle Ox next turn and flipped Shrink to reduce the ATK of Dark Magician Girl! Battle Ox attacked and destroyed Dark Magician Girl.

 

Yugi discarded Silent Swordsman LV3 from his hand to Special Summon The Tricky, and Kaiba flipped Shadow Spell to weaken The Tricky and stop it from attacking.

 

Kaiba attacked and destroyed The Tricky with his Battle Ox and then Set a monster.

 

Yugi drew Mirror Force! He Tributed his Mystical Elf to Summon Silent Swordsman LV5 and then attacked Battle Ox to destroy it with his Swordsman. He Set Mirror Force before passing.

 

Kaiba Set a monster and passed.

 

Yugi drew Skilled White Magician and then Normal Summoned Red Gadget. He used its effect to add Yellow Gadget from his Deck to his hand and then attacked Des Mosquito with both of his monsters to get rid of both of the Mosquito’s counters.

 

“Your pesky Mosquito is vulnerable to my next attack, Kaiba!”   -Yugi

 

Kaiba Flip Summoned X-Head Cannon and attacked Red Gadget with his X-Head Cannon to destroy it. Kaiba Set a monster before ending his turn.

 

Yugi drew Thousand Knives next turn. He Summoned Double Coston and then attacked Des Mosquito with his Coston to destroy it. Silent Swordsman LV5 attacked and destroyed X-Head Cannon.

 

 

 

Kaiba Set a card to his back row and then Flip Summoned La Jinn! He switched his Yomi Ship into Attack Position and attacked Silent Swordsman LV5 with his Ship; but Yugi flipped Mirror Force to destroy Kaiba’s Ship and Genie!

 

Yugi drew Miracle Restoring next turn. He attacked Kaiba’s face-down Des Feral Imp with his Swordsman, and Kaiba used his Imp’s effect to send Luster Dragon from his Graveyard to his Deck. Next, Double Coston attacked and destroyed Kaiba’s face-down Divine Dragon Apocralyph.

 

Kaiba discarded Puppet Plant to take control of Silent Swordsman LV5 and then attacked  Double Coston with his Swordsman to destroy it. He ended his turn and returned the Swordsman to Yugi.

 

Yugi attacked directly with his Swordsman, and Kaiba activated Damage Gate to Special Summon Yomi Ship from his Graveyard. Yugi used Soul Taker to destroy Yomi Ship in Main Phase 2.

 

Kaiba Summoned Breaker the Magical Warrior and then attacked directly with Yellow Gadget, Silent Swordsman LV5, and Breaker the Magicial Warrior, dropping Kaiba down to 1000 Life Points.

 

 

On his next turn, Kaiba conceded, unable to take down Yugi’s 3 monsters.
