Kentucky’s Richard Frailley is Dueling against New York’s Christian Georges in this Round 3 Feature Match! Frailley is using a Synchro-heavy Deck that combines Tuners like Spore and Junk Synchron with expendable monsters like White Dragon Wyverburster and Black Dragon Collapserpent to flood the field with Synchro monsters. Will this unconventional strategy hold up against Georges’s Fire Fist Deck? It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Georges started off Duel 1 by activating Upstart Goblin to give Frailley 1000 Life Points and draw a card. Next, he Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear and Set 2 cards to his back row.

Frailley opened up with Mirror Force, Maxx “C”, Mystical Space Typhoon, and 3 copies of Enemy Controller.

He Set Maxx “C” along with 3 back rows and then ended his turn.

Georges activated Fire Formation – Tenki; but Frailley Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy it! George Set another card to his back row and passed his turn without attacking.

Frailley drew Lonefire Blossom next turn and Summoned it! He Tributed his Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon another copy from his Deck and then Tributed that one to Special Summon Spore. Next, he activated Enemy Controller, Tributing his Maxx “C” to try to take control of Bear; but Georges flipped Forbidden Lance to make his Bear unaffected by all Spells and Traps!

Georges attacked with Bear next turn, but Frailley activated Mirror Force to destroy it! Georges Summoned Wolfbark in Main Phase 2 and used its effect to Special Summon Bear from his Graveyard. He combined Wolfbark with Bear to Xyz Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Tiger King and used Tiger King’s effect to Set Fire Formation – Tenki from his Deck. He detached an Xyz Material from Tiger King to activate its effect and then flipped Tenki to add Wolfbark from his Deck to his hand. Finally, he Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Frailley drew Dark Hole and then Set Enemy Controller.

Georges Summoned Cardcar D and Tributed it to draw 2 cards and end his turn.

Frailley drew Card Trooper and Summoned it. He activated its effect to send Thunder King Rai-Oh, Tour Guide From the Underworld, and Effect Veiler from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard and gain 1500 ATK, and then flipped Enemy Controller to Tribute Spore and take control of Tiger King. Card Trooper and Tiger King attacked Georges directly, dropping Georges down to 3900 Life Points. Frailley detached an Xyz Material from Tiger King to activate its effect and then ended his turn.

Georges Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Gorilla and sent his Tenki to the Graveyard to try to destroy Frailley’s face-down Enemy Controller with Gorilla’s effect; but Frailley Chained the Enemy Controller to switch Gorilla into Defense Position. Georges attacked Card Trooper with his Tiger King, destroying it in battle and allowing Frailley to draw a card.

Frailley Set Mirror Force and Call of the Haunted before passing back to Georges.

Georges activated Pot of Duality; but Frailley Chained Call of the Haunted to Special Summon Thunder King Rai-Oh, preventing Georges from using the effect of Pot of Duality. Next, Georges attacked Rai-Oh with Tiger King, and Frailley flipped Mirror Force to destroy both of Georges’s monsters. In Main Phase 2, Georges activated Fiendish Chain to negate Rai-Oh’s effect, and activated Fire Formation – Tenki to add Wolfbark from his Deck to his hand. He Summoned Bear and used Bear’s effect to send Tenki to the Graveyard and destroy Rai-Oh.

Frailley drew Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter next turn and Set it.

Georges activated Fire Formation – Tensu and used its effect to Normal Summon Coach Soldier Wolfbark. Next, he sent Tensu to the Graveyard to destroy Ryko with Bear’s effect, and attacked directly with Bear and Wolfbark. Georges Set Fire Formation – Gyokkou with Bear’s effect and then used Wolfbark’s effect to Special Summon Gorilla from his Graveyard. He combined Bear with Gorilla to Special Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Cardinal and then detached both Xyz Materials from Cardinal to return Tenki and Bear into his own Deck, and Tour Guide and Spore to Frailley’s Deck.

Frailley drew Call of the Haunted next turn. He activated Dark Hole to clear the field and then Set Call of the Haunted.

Georges activated Gyokkou to pin down Frailley’s Call of the Haunted and then Normal Summoned Wolfbark. He activated its effect to Special Summon Bear from his Graveyard and then attacked directly with Wolfbark. Georges Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Frailley drew White Dragon Wyverburster on his last turn and conceded, unable to defeat Georges’s monsters.

Duel Two

Frailley opened up Duel 2 with Thunder King Rai-Oh, Junk Synchron, White Dragon Wyverburster, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, and 2 copies of Black Dragon Collapserpent. He Summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh and then passed his turn with a hand full of monsters.

Georges Set 2 cards to his back row and passed.

Frailley drew Overworked. He attacked directly with Rai-Oh to drop Georges down to 6100 Life Points and Set Overworked before passing.

Georges flipped Fiendish Chain to negate Rai-Oh’s effect and then activated Pot of Duality, revealing Mirror Force, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Coach Soldier Wolfbark from the top of his Deck. He added Mystical Space Typhoon to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Next, he activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Frailley’s face-down Overworked, and activated Tenki to add Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear from his Deck to his hand. He sent Tenki to the Graveyard to destroy Rai-Oh with Bear’s effect and then attacked directly with Bear, using its effect to Set Tenki from his Deck. Georges Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Frailley drew Mirror Force next turn. He banished Thunder King Rai-Oh from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Dragon Collapserpent and then attacked Bear with his Dragon, destroying it in battle and dealing 200 points of damage to Georges. Frailley Set Mirror Force before ending his turn.

Georges Summoned Wolfbark and activated its effect to Special Summon Bear from his Graveyard in Defense Position. He combined Wolfbark with Bear to Xyz Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Tiger King and used its effect to Set Fire Formation – Gyokkou from his Deck. He activated it to pin down Frailley’s Mirror Force, and then flipped his face-down Tenki to add Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear from his Deck to his hand. Next, he detached Bear from Tiger King to activate its effect, and flipped Soul Drain by paying 1000 Life Points. He attacked Collapserpent with Tiger King to destroy it and then Set another card to his back row before ending his turn.

Frailley drew Overworked. He banished Collapserpent from his Graveyard to Special Summon White Dragon Wyverburster and then Normal Summoned Junk Synchron; but Georges used Compulsory Evacuation Device to return Wyverburster to Frailley’s hand before Frailley could perform a Synchro Summon. Frailley Set Overworked before ending his turn.

Georges Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear and Frailley flipped Overworked! Georges Chained Forbidden Lance to protect his Bear, and Tiger King was destroyed by Overworked. Next, Georges used his Bear’s effect to send Tenki to the Graveyard and destroy Junk Synchron. Georges attacked directly with Bear, using its effect to Set Tenki from his Deck, and then activated Tenki to add Wolfbark from his Deck to his hand.

Frailley drew Lonefire Blossom next turn and Summoned it. He Tributed it to Special Summon another Lonefire Blossom from his Deck, and then Tributed that Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon Spore. Next, Frailley banished Junk Synchron from his Graveyard to Special Summon Wyverburster, but Georges banished Wyverburster with Bottomless Trap Hole.

Georges Summoned Coach Soldier Wolfbark next turn and activated its effect to Special Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear from his Graveyard in Defense Position. He combined his Bear with Wolfbark to Xyz Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Tiger King and then used Tiger King’s effect to Set Fire Formation – Tensu from his Deck. He sent Tenki to the Graveyard with Bear’s effect to destroy Spore and then Normal Summoned Coach Soldier Wolfbark. Direct attacks from Tiger King, Wolfbark, and Bear finished Frailley off!
