Local Duelist Kelvin Beal is currently undefeated with his Hunder Deck, featuring Legacy of the Valiant’s Number 101: Silent Honor ARK and Evilswarm Exciton Knight in his Extra Deck. Brooklyn, New York’s Jamal Niles is using a Fire King Deck featuring Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua and 3 copies of Generation Shift. If Niles can destroy an Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua in his hand with Fire King Avatar Yaksha, he can use Ccarayhua’s effect to destroy all cards on the field. In a pinch, Niles can even search his Deck for his Earthbound Immortal with King of the Feral Imps. The 3 copies of Generation Shift make it easy for Niles to destroy his own Fire King monsters and activate their effects while replenishing his hand. Niles activated Trade-In by discarding Fire King High Avatar Garunix and drew 2 cards from his Deck. Next, he activated Fire Formation – Tenki, using its effect to add Fire King Avatar Barong from his Deck to his hand. He Summoned Fire King Avatar Yaksha next, and Set a card before ending his turn.

 

 

Beal opened up with Mahunder, Recycling Batteries, Breakthrough Skill, Waboku, and 2 copies of Mirror Force. He Set both copies of Mirror Force before passing.

 

 

Niles Summoned Barong and attacked directly with it; but Beal flipped Mirror Force to destroy both of Niles’s monsters. Niles Set a card to his back row before passing.

 

Beal drew Dark Hole and then Niles added Onslaught of the Fire Kings from his Deck to his hand with Barong’s effect in Beal’s Standby Phase. Beal Set Waboku before passing.

 

Niles activated Trade-In to discard Garunix and draw 2 cards, and then used Upstart Goblin to draw a card and give Beal 1000 Life Points. Next, Niles Summoned Coach Soldier Wolfbark. He tried to activate its effect to Special Summon Barong, and when Beal Chained Breakthrough Skill, Niles Chained Circle of the Fire Kings. He destroyed Wolfbark to Special Summon Yaksha from his Graveyard, and then Wolfbark’s effect resolved to Special Summon Barong in Defense Position. Yaksha attacked directly, dropping Beal down to 7100 Life Points. Niles Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

 

Beal drew Wattcobra and then activated Dark Hole. Niles Chained Circle of the Fire Kings to trade his Barong for Garunix before Dark Hole wiped the field. Next, Beal Normal Summoned Mahunder and used its effect to Normal Summon Wattcobra from his hand. Beal attacked directly with Mahunder, but Niles discarded Swift Scarecrow to stop the attack! In Main Phase 2, Beal combined his 2 monsters to try to Summon Abyss Dweller; but Niles flipped Solemn Warning and paid 2000 Life Points to negate its Summon.

 

Niles activated Barong’s effect to add Circle of the Fire Kings from his Deck to his hand in his Standby Phase, and then used Garunix’s effect to Special Summon it to the field. Niles attacked directly with Garunix, and Beal activated Mirror Force to destroy it. Niles Set a card before passing.

 

Beal drew Bottomless Trap Hole and then Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase. Next, Beal activatred Recycling Batteries to add Mahunder and Wattcobra to his hand. He Summoned Mahunder and used its effect to Normal Summon Wattcobra along with it. Wattcobra attacked Niles directly, dropping him down to 5000 Life Points, and Beal used Wattcobra’s effect to add another Wattcobra from his Deck to his hand. In Main Phase 2, Beal combined Mahunder with Wattcobra to Xyz Summon Number 101: Silent Honor ARK. He activated its effect by detaching both Xyz Materials to target Garunix; but Niles Chained Circle of the Fire Kings to destroy his Garunix and Special Summon another one from his Graveyard. Beal Set Bottomless Trap Hole before ending his turn, but lost the Bottomless Trap Hole to Mystical Space Typhoon in the End Phase.

 

Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase and used its effect to clear the field. Next, he activated Upstart Goblin to draw a card by giving Beal 1000 Life Points. He attacked directly with Garunix.

 

Beal drew Mystical Space Typhoon, and Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase, using its effect to clear the field. Next, Beal activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy a Set Onslaught of the Fire Kings and Summoned Wattcobra. He attacked directly with Wattcobra, using its effect to add another Wattcobra to his hand.

 

Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase again, using its effect to clear the field, and then activated Tenki to add Yaksha to his hand. He Summoned Yaksha and attacked directly with both of his monsters.

 

Beal drew a card and then Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase, once again clearing the field. Niles Summoned Wattcobra and attacked directly with it, adding Wattpheasant from his Deck to his hand with his Wattcobra’s effect.

 

Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase, destroying all other monsters on the field, and attacked directly with Garunix; but Beal flipped Waboku to prevent all Battle Damage.

 

On Beal’s next turn, Niles Special Summoned Garunix in Beal’s Standby Phase and destroyed all monsters on the field with its effect. Beal Set Threatening Roar before ending his turn.

 

Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase to clear the field and tried to attack, but was stopped by Threatening Roar.

 

Beal drew a card and Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase to destroy all cards on the field. Beal Set Threatening Roar and passed his turn.

 

Niles tried attacking for game with Garunix, but was stopped by Threatening Roar. Nevertheless, Niles was afterwards able to Summon Wolfbark and activate its effect to Special Summon Barong from his Graveyard. He combined Barong with Wolfbark to Xyz Summon Gagaga Cowboy in Defense Position and then used its effect to deal 800 points of damage to Beal, wiping out his last 700 Life Points!

Beal drew Pot of Duality and activated it, revealing Mystical Space Typhoon, Torrential Tribute, and Wattcobra from the top of his Deck. He added Torrential Tribute to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Beal Summoned Wattcobra and tried attacking directly; but Niles flipped Skill Drain to stop it from attacking directly, causing a replay. Beal Set Torrential Tribute in Main Phase 2 and passed.

 

Niles attacked Wattcobra with Yaksha to destroy it.

 

Beal drew Pahunder and then Set Vylon Prism.

 

Niles Summoned another Fire King Avatar Yaksha, and Beal flipped Torrential Tribute. Beal Chained Macro Cosmos to his Torrential Tribute, but Niles Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Macro Cosmos. Niles destroyed an in-hand Garunix with Yaksha’s effect after Yaksha was destroyed.

 

Beal drew Threatening Roar and Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase. Beal Set Threatening Roar and Pahunder before passing.

 

Niles tried to attack with Garunix but was stopped by Beal’s Threatening Roar.

 

Beal Flip Summoned Pahunder and Normal Summoned Vylon Prism. Niles activated Torrential Tribute to clear the field. Beal Set Compulsory Evacuation Device in his End Phase, but lost it to Niles’s Mystical Space Typhoon.

 

Niles activated Mystical Space Typhoon in his Draw Phase to destroy a face-down Recycling Batteries and then Special Summoned Garunix in his Standby Phase. He attacked directly and passed.

 

Beal drew Dimensional Fissure and activated it. Niles Chained Circle of the Fire Kings to trade his Garunix for Yaksha. Beal Set Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo before passing.

 

Niles Special Summoned Garunix in his next Standby Phase and its effect was negated by Skill Drain. Next, Beal activated Rekindling to return a Yaksha to his field. Yaksha attacked and destroyed Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, and then a direct attack from Niles’s other monsters finished Beal off!
