YCS First-Timers
With near 1350 Duelists in attendance, we have quite a mixture of Duelists, ranging from experienced veterans to Duelists in their first YCS tournament. Let’s meet some of those first-timers!
Fourteen-year-old Nathen Pires has traveled farther than most of the Duelists in the room today – he’s from Sao Paulo, Brazil! He is using Chaos Dragons for the main event today. His first impression? “It’s wonderful!” he said. “There’s a bunch of people here, it’s amazing. It’s my first time seeing something like this.” Here’s Nathen with his favorite card, his Ghost Rare Black Rose Dragon!
Nick D’Eredita is twelve years old, and he’s made the trip here from Columbus, Ohio. He’s using a self-described “Chaos/ Dragon” Deck (Note, that’s not “Chaos Dragons”). He said that he’d had a feeling it would be a big event, and has decided to enter the Main Event today. His favorite card is Shooting Quasar Dragon, but he didn’t have that with him for a photo: He chose to pose with Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning – that game face would send shivers down the spine of even the most seasoned veteran!
Alex Mitchell is thirteen, and came from Crystal River, Florida. He’s using a Synchro based Deck, and said he’s out to prove that Synchros aren’t dead (Hey, who said they were?). “I think it’s awesome, I just like how all the vendors are set up and I like all the trading. Nothing like that happens near us,” he said. Here’s Alex, showing off his favorite card: Majestic Star Dragon!
Jeremy Osteen is twelve years old, and came here with his friend Alex from Crystal River, Florida. He’s entered into the Main Event today, using the mighty Exodia the Forbidden One! Jeremy thought the YCS was amazing so far. “I didn’t know there would be so many people here,” he mused. Jeremy had shown off a binder with page after page filled with Token cards: Sheep Tokens, Lamb Tokens, Emissary of Darkness Tokens, and more. That’s why when I asked Jeremy his favorite card he chose the YCS Preregistration Token!
Good luck to all of our first-timers, and thanks for attending YCS Atlanta!
