Local Duelist Daniel Coronel is about to Duel against Ivan Alvarez from the Dominican Republic in the Finals of this year’s Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier. Both of these young Duelists are only 11 years old, but the experience at stake is one that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. The winner of this Match will have the opportunity to compete in the 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Dragon Duel World Championship in Italy this August, and will have his travel and accommodations paid for by Konami. Which young Duelist will prevail? We’re about to find out! It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Coronel opened up Duel 1 with Kaiser Colosseum, Torrential Tribute, Fiendish Chain, Bujingi Quilin, Forbidden Dress, and Bujin Hirume. He Set Quilin, activated Kaiser Colosseum, and Set Torrential Tribute, Fiendish Chain, and Forbidden Dress to his back row.

Alvarez Summoned Madolche Messengelato and then attacked Coronel’s face-down Quilin to destroy it. He Set 4 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

Coronel drew Vanity’s Emptiness and then Summoned Bujin Hirume to the field. He attacked Messengelato with Hirume; but Alvarez flipped Book of Moon to flip Hirume face-down. Coronel Set Vanity’s Emptiness before ending his turn.

Alvarez attacked Coronel’s face-down Hirume with Messengelato, but was stopped by Coronel’s Fiendish Chain. He Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Coronel drew Forbidden Dress next turn. He Flip Summoned Hirume and attacked Messengelato; but Alvarez activated Fiendish Chain to stop Hirume’s attack.

Alvarez drew a card and passed his turn.

Coronel drew Compulsory Evacuation Device and passed.

Alvarez activated Madolche Chateau and passed.

Coronel drew Bujincarnation and passed once more.

Alvarez flipped Trap Stun! Next, he activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Kaiser Colosseum. He Summoned Madolche Mewfeuille next, and then Special Summoned Spell Striker by banishing Mystical Space Typhoon from his Graveyard. Next, he combined Mewfeuille with Spell Striker to Xyz Summon M-X-Saber Invoker, and then detached an Xyz Material from M-X-Saber Invoker to activate its effect and Special Summon Madolche Messengelato from his Deck in Defense Position. He combined both copies of Messengelato to Xyz Summon Madolche Queen Tiaramisu and then detached an Xyz Material from Tiaramisu to send 2 of his Madolches from his Graveyard to his hand, and shuffle 2 of Coronel’s back row cards back into Coronel’s Deck.

Coronel drew Bujingi Crane next turn. He Set 2 cards to his back row and then passed his turn.

Alvarez activated Madolche Ticket and then Summoned Mewfeuille from his hand. He activated its effect, but Coronel Chained Vanity’s Emptiness to prevent any monsters from being Special Summoned.

Coronel drew Bujin Yamato next turn. He Summoned it to the field and then activated Compulsory Evacuation Device to return Madolche Queen Tiaramisu to Alvarez’s Extra Deck. Next, Vanity’s Emptiness was destroyed, since Compulsory Evacuation Device went to Coronel’s Graveyard. Coronel combined Bujin Hirume with Bujin Yamato to Xyz Summon Bujintei Susanowo and then detached an Xyz Material from it to send Bujingi Turtle from his Deck to his Graveyard. Susanowo attacked and destroyed Mewfeuille, and Mewfeuille returned to Alvarez’s hand thanks to Madolche Chateau. Next, Madolche Ticket allowed Alvarez to add Madolche Anjelly from his Deck to his hand. Coronel attacked with Susanowo once more, this time destroying M-X-Saber Invoker.

Alvarez Summoned Mewfeuille and activated its effect to Special Summon Madolche Anjelly from his hand. He Tributed Anjelly to Special Summon Madolche Hootcake from his Deck in Defense Position and then banished Anjelly from his Graveyard with Hootcake’s effect to Special Summon Messengelato from his Deck in Defense Position. He used Messengelato’s effect to add Madolche Chateau from his Deck to his hand. Next, he combined Hootcake with Anjelly to Xyz Summon Leviair the Sea Dragon and detached an Xyz Material from Leviair to Special Summon Anjelly to his field. He combined Anjelly with Messengelato to Xyz Summon Madolche Queen Tiaramisu and then detached an Xyz Material from Tiaramisu to send 2 Madolches from his Graveyard to his hand and send Coronel’s Susanowo and face-down card back to Coronel’s Deck. Next, he used the effect of Madolche Ticket to Special Summon Mewfeuille from his Deck. Finally, he activated Madolchepalooza! He Special Summoned Madolche Hootcake and Madolche Messengelato from his hand, and activated Messengelato’s effect to add another Madolchepalooza to his hand. Direct attacks from Madolche Queen Tiaramisu, Leviair the Sea Dragon, Madolche Mewfeuille, Madolche Hootcake, and Madolche Messengelato wiped out all 8000 of Coronel’s Life Points in a single Battle Phase!

Duel Two

Coronel opened up Duel 2 with Bujingi Turtle, Bujingi Centipede, Bujin Yamato, Bujincarnation, Royal Decree, and Bujingi Crane. He Summoned Yamato to the field, Set Royal Decree, and then entered his End Phase. In his End Phase, he used Yamato’s effect to add Bujin Mikazuchi from his Deck to his hand and discard Bujingi Turtle.

Alvarez Summoned Madolche Magileine and activated its effect to add Madolche Mewfeuille from his Deck to his hand. Next, he Set 2 cards to his back row and ended his turn. In his End Phase, Coronel flipped Royal Decree!

Coronel Summoned Bujingi Centipede next turn and then combined his Yamato with his Centipede to Xyz Summon Bujintei Susanowo. He detached an Xyz Material from Susanowo to send Bujingi Hare from his Deck to his Graveyard and then attacked Magileine with Susanowo to destroy it. Magileine shuffled itself back into Alvarez’s Deck with its effect.

Alvarez Summoned Madolche Mewfeuille and activated its effect to Special Summon Madolche Anjelly from his hand. He Tributed Anjelly to Special Summon Madolche Hootcake from his Deck in Defense Position and then banished Anjelly to Special Summon Messengelato from his Deck in Defense Position with Hootcake’s effect. He used Messengelato’s effect to add Madolche Chateau to his hand and activated it. Next, he combined Hootcake with Mewfeuille to Xyz Summon Leviair the Sea Dragon and detached an Xyz Material from Leviair to Special Summon Anjelly back to the field. He combined Anjelly with Messengelato to Xyz Summon Madolche Queen Tiaramisu and then detached an Xyz Material from Tiaramisu to activate its effect.Coronel banished Bujingi Hare from his Graveyard to target his Susanowo for protection, and after Susanowo was sent back to Coronel’s Extra Deck, Royal Decree was sent back to his Main Deck, and Madolche Mewfeuille and Madolche Anjelly returned to Alvarez’s hand, Coronel was able to Special Summon Bujin Arasuda from his hand since his Bujingi Hare had been banished. Alvarez activated Maxx “C” to draw a card when Bujin Arasuda was Special Summoned. Madolche Queen Tiaramisu subsequently destroyed Arasuda in battle, and then Leviair attacked directly.

Coronel drew Bujingi Hare next turn. He Summoned Bujin Mikazuchi and then banished Bujingi Centipede from his Graveyard to target Alvarez’s face-down Forbidden Graveyard for destruction; but Alvarez Chained it by discarding Mewfeuille. Next, Mikazuchi attacked Tiaramisu, and Coronel discarded Bujingi Crane from his hand to double his monster’s ATK and win the battle.

Alvarez Summoned Madolche Mewfeuille and activated its effect to Special Summon Madolche Anjelly from his hand. Next, he Tributed Anjelly to Special Summon Madolche Hootcake from his Deck and banished Anjelly from his Graveyard to Special Summon Messengelato from his Deck with Hootcake’s effect. He added Madolche Ticket to his hand with Messengelato’s effect and then activated Madolche Ticket. He detached an Xyz Material from Leviair next, in order to Special Summon Madolche Anjelly from his Banished Zone, and then combined Anjelly with Messengelato to Xyz Summon Madolche Queen Tiaramisu. He detached an Xyz Material from Tiaramisu to send Mikazuchi back to Coronel’s Deck and return a Madolche monster from his Graveyard to his hand, and then used the effect of Madolche Ticket to Special Summon Messengelato from his Deck in Attack Position. He added another Chateau to his hand with the effect of Messengelato. Finally, Alvarez attacked directly with Tiaramisu, Mewfeuille, Leviair, Hootcake, and Messengelato to win the Duel and the Match!
