Opening Announcements!
One of the coolest attractions of the North American World Championship Qualifier is the attendance of two Yu-Gi-Oh! voice actors – Dan Green and Marc Thompson! Dan Green performs the voice of Yugi and the pharaoh, as well as many other characters, and Marc Thompson performs the voice of Duke Devlin and Rafael in the original series, as well as Astral and Kite in Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. This morning, Dan Green, reprising his role as Yugi and the Pharaoh, and Marc Thompson, reprising his role as Astral, made the opening announcements for the North American World Championship Qualifier.
The announcements sounded like this:
Yugi: Welcome to the 2014 North American World Championship Qualifier! 1671 Duelists have gathered here in Detroit this weekend to compete, and I’m proud to be a part of this year’s WCQ experience.
Astral: Only the most skilled Duelists are eligible to compete this weekend, and among them, only those with the most brilliant strategies will advance to Day 2 of the tournament.
Yugi: Top Duelists will be invited to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship in Rimini, Italy on August 9th and 10th, where they will represent North America and compete for the title of World Champion.
Astral: The Duels will be intense this weekend…
Yugi: And the competition will be fierce.
Astral: But if you’re “feeling the flow” and reaching to “high five the sky”…
Yugi: You may turn your dreams of competing in the World Championship into a reality.
Little Yugi: You just have to believe in the heart of the cards!
