Duel 1

Wigley’s opening hand was Geargiarmor, Geargiaccelerator, Traptrix Myrmeleo, Solemn Warning, Geargiagear, and Geargiano Mk-II. He played Myrmeleo to add Bottomless Trap Hole to his hand, and he Set all his Trap Cards.

Petre Set four cards to his back row. In the End Phase, Wigley used Geargiagear to get Geargiano and Geargiano Mk-II.

Wigley drew Fiendish Chain. He Special Summoned Geargiaccelerator, and Petre flipped Needle Ceiling! Wigley used Geargiaccelerator to retrieve Geargiano Mk-II, and Normal Summoned it. He activated its effect, and Petre activated Maxx “C”! Wigley revived Geargiaccelerator in Defense Position and attacked directly with Geargiano Mk-II. He Set Fiendish Chain to finish.

Petre Set two more cards, filling his Spell & Trap Card Zones.

Wigley drew Dark Hole. He switched Geargiaccelerator to Attack Position and attacked with both of his monsters.

Petre flipped Mystical Space Typhoon, hitting Wigley’s Solemn Warning. He Set another card in Typhoon’s place.

Wigley drew Upstart Goblin. He had a good lead, and chose not to play it. Instead, he attacked with both of his monsters and Set the Upstart Goblin. In the End Phase, Petre flipped Geargiagear, finally revealing what Deck he’s playing! He Special Summoned Geargiano and Geargiano Mk-II with their Levels increased.

Petre Special Summoned Geargiaccelerator, then stacked it with Geargiano for Gear Gigant X. He lost it to Bottomless Trap Hole, but its effect returned Geargiano to the field. Petre used that to retrieve Geargiaccelerator, and he Xyz Summoned a second Gear Gigant X! He attacked Wigley’s Geargiano Mk-II. In Main Phase 2, he used Gear Gigant X’s effect. Wigley used Fiendish Chain, but Petre used Book of Moon to keep Gear Gigant X unaffected! Petre added Geargiarmor to his hand, then Set a monster.

Wigley drew Geargiano Mk-II. He flipped up his Upstart Goblin to draw Black Horn of Heaven. He Normal Summoned Geargiano Mk-II and revived Geargiano, so he could Xyz Summoned Wind-Up Zenmaines in Defense Position, then played Dark Hole! Zenmaines survived, Petre’s Gear Gigant X revived Geargiano, and Wigley’s Geargiaccelerator returned Geargiano Mk-II to his hand. Wigley Set Black Horn of Heaven, then had Zenmaines destroy Geargiano in the End Phase.

Petre filled his back row once again.

Wigley drew Soul Charge! He Normal Summoned Geargiano Mk-II and revived Geargiano yet again, and Petre flipped Torrential Tribute! Zenmaines lived through it, and Wigley played Soul Charge! He targeted Myrmeleo and Geargiaccelerator, bringing them back in Defense Position. Myrmeleo destroyed Bottomless Trap Hole with her effect, then Wigley Xyz Summoned Diamond Dire Wolf! He had it destroy itself and Petre’s Solemn Warning. In the End Phase, Zenmaines destroyed Wiretap.

Petre Set a card to his back row. He had two cards there, with nothing else.

Wigley drew Wiretap. He played Geargiano Mk-II and revived Geargiaccelerator. Zenmaines and the Geargias attacked directly, ending the first Duel!

Wigley keeps the pressure on, fighting through Needle Ceiling, Torrential Tribute, and his own Dark Hole!

Duel 2

Petre began by playing triple Geargiaccelerator! He made Gear Gigant X, and it detached Geargiaccelerator to add the same Geargiaccelerator back to Petre’s hand. He Special Summoned it, then Xyz Summoned Cairngorgon, Antiluminescent Knight! He Set three back row cards.

Wigley started with Stygian Dirge, Book of Moon, Geargiarsenal, 2 Geargiaccelerator, and Geargiarmor. He Normal Summoned Geargiarmor, and Petre flipped…

Deck Devawhaaaaaaa

Deck Devastation Virus?! He Tributed Cairngorgon, and Wigley conceded!

What the heck?! Petre immediately evens the score! Wigley maybe had a small chance at a comeback, but he knew he’d likely lose this Duel, and he didn’t want to give away his Side Decked Stygian Dirge.

Duel 3

Wigley had Book of Moon, Bottomless Trap Hole, Solemn Warning, Geargiarmor, and 2 Geargiano Mk-II. He Set the spells and traps, then Set Geargiarmor.

Petre Set a monster and four back row cards.

Wigley drew Acid Trap Hole. He flipped up Geargiarmor, but lost it to Solemn Warning. He played Geargiano Mk-II to revive Geargiarmor, turning it face-down. He Set Acid Trap Hole to finish. In the End Phase, Petre flipped Geargiagear, and Wigley negated it with Solemn Warning.

In the Draw Phase, Wigley flipped Acid Trap Hole! It destroyed Petre’s Geargiarmor (Geargiarmor is an optional “When…” effect, so it misses its activation timing with Acid Trap Hole.). Petre flipped another Geargiagear, getting Geargiano and Geargiano Mk-II. Wigley used Book of Moon to turn Geargiano face-down, blocking a potential Xyz Summon. Petre used Upstart Goblin, then played Dark Hole! He Set a back row card, now with two – but nothing else.

Wigley drew Geargiarsenal and played it into Torrential Tribute.

Petre Set another back row card.

Wigley drew Fiendish Chain. He played Geargiano Mk-II and revived Geargiarmor, then attacked directly. He lost Fiendish Chain to Mystical Space Typhoon in the End Phase.

Petre Set another back row card.

Wigley drew Geargiagear. He flipped Geargiarmor face-down, then face-up again to search out Geargiarsenal. He Normal Summoned it, and moved to the Battle Phase. Geargiarmor, Geargiano Mk-II, and Geargiarsenal left Petre with 800 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, he Tributed Geargiarsenal for another Geargiarmor. He turned it face-down, then Set Geargiagear. Looks like he didn’t have Gagaga Cowboy in the Extra Deck!

Petre played Upstart Goblin. He Set his new card to the back row.

Wigley drew Acid Trap Hole. He attacked with Geargiano Mk-II, and it was blocked by Book of Moon. Geargiarmor attacked, and was negated by Fiendish Chain! Still in the Battle Phase, Wigley played Geargiagear, getting Geargiano and Geargiano Mk-II, but Geargiano Mk-II was bounced by Compulsory Evacuation Device! Geargiano hit directly, leaving Petre with 300 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Wigley Tributed Geargiano for Geargiarsenal, then flipped Geargiarmor to get Geargiaccelerator. To finish his turn, he stacked Geargiarsenal and Geargiarmor for Number 106: Giant Hand!
