Royce Townsend from Delaware is Dueling against Ontario, Canada’s Andre Wright in this Round 7 Feature Match! Both Duelists are currently 6-0, but only one of them will advance with a perfect 7-0 record. Royce Townsend is using a unique amalgamation of many different themes, in a Deck that contains the Fire and Ice Hands, Fire Fist monsters, Traptrix Monsters, and a bunch of Artifact Cards. Andre Wright, on the other hand, is using a more focused Bujin Deck. Which one of these Duelists will advance undefeated? It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

 

Wright started off Duel 1 by activating Fire Formation – Tenki and adding Bujin Hirume to his hand with its effect. He activated Pot of Duality next, revealing Bujin Hirume, Bujingi Hare, and Forbidden Lance from the top of his Deck. He added Bujingi Hare to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Next, he Normal Summoned Bujin Yamato, Set 2 cards to his back row, and entered his End Phase. He added Bujin Arasuda from his Deck to his hand with Yamato’s effect and then discarded Bujingi Hare.

 

 

Townsend opened up Duel 2 with Pot of Duality, Ice Hand, Artifact Moralltach, Bottomless Trap Hole and 2 copies of Mystical Space Typhoon. He activated Pot of Duality, revealing 3 copies of Black Horn of Heaven from the top of his Deck.

 

He added 1 of them to his hand and shuffled the other 2 back into his Deck. Next, he Set Ice Hand and Set 5 cards to his back row.

 

Wright Summoned Bujin Mikazuchi and Townsend flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to try to banish it from the Duel; but Wright banished a Hare from his Graveyard to protect it. Next, Wright activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Townsend’s face-down Black Horn of Heaven. Wright entered his End Phase and Townsend flipped Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy his own Moralltach in his back row. He Special Summoned it to the field and then used its effect to destroy Yamato.

 

Townsend drew Fire Hand and then Flip Summoned Ice Hand. He attacked Bujin Mikazuchi with Ice Hand and then activated his Ice Hand’s effect when it was destroyed. He destroyed Wright’s face-down Book of Moon and then Special Summoned Fire Hand from his Deck. Next, he attacked Bujin Mikazuchi with Moralltach to destroy it. Fire Hand attacked directly next, dropping Wright down to 6300 Life Points. Townsend Summoned Fire Hand in Main Phase 2 and then combined his two Fire Hands to Xyz Summon Number 103: Ragnazero.

 

Wright Summoned Bujin Yamato (boosted by 100 ATK due to Tenki) and Townsend immediately used his Ragnazero’s effect to destroy Yamato and draw a card. Next, Wright banished Yamato from his Graveyard to Special Summon Bujin Hirume and then used his Arasuda’s effect to Special Summon it. Next, he combined Arasuda with Hirume to Xyz Summon Bujin Susanowo. He detached an Xyz Material from Susanowo to add Bujingi Crane from his Deck to his hand and then attacked Ragnazero with Susanowo to destroy it. Next, Susanowo attacked and destroyed Moralltach.

 

Townsend drew Mind Control next turn. He Set Artifact Moralltach to his back row and then ended his turn.

 

Wright drew a card and Townsend activated Mystical Space Typhoon in his Standby Phase to destroy his own face-down Moralltach. He Special Summoned it to the field and then activated its effect to destroy Susanowo. Next, Wright Summoned Bujingi Crane. He attacked Moralltach and then activated Forbidden Lance to weaken Moralltach and defeat it in battle.

 

Townsend drew Fiendish Chain next turn and Set it.

 

Wright attacked directly with Bujingi Crane and then Set a card to his back row.

Wright activated Fire Formation – Tenki and used its effect to add Bujin Hirume from his Deck to his hand. Next, he banished Arasuda from his Graveyard to Special Summon Hirume and attacked with Bujingi Crane. Townsend lost 1600 Life Points, and when Hirume attacked, Townsend flipped Fiendish Chain to stop its attack. In Main Phase 2, Wright combined Bujingi Crane with Bujin Hirume to Xyz Summon Bujintei Susanowo and tried to activate its effect; but Townsend flipped Fiendish Chain to negate its effect.

 

Townsend drew Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare and Set it.

 

Wright switched his Susanowo to Defense Position and then Set a card to his back row.

 

Townsend drew Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear and Summoned it. Next, he activated Mind Control to take control of Susanowo. He attacked directly with Bear, dropping Wright down to 4700 Life Points. He activated Bear’s effect to Set Fire Formation – Tenki from his Deck. He flipped Tenki in Main Phase 2 and added Coach Soldier Wolfbark from his Deck to his hand. Next, he activated his Bear’s effect. He sent Tenki to the Graveyard to destroy Susanowo.

 

Wright activated Bujincarnation to Special Summon Bujin Yamato and Bujintei Susanowo. Next, he Normal Summoned Bujingi Hare. He combined Hare with Yamato to Xyz Summon Constellar Omega and then attacked Bear with Omega to destroy it and deal 1000 points of damage. A direct attack from Susanowo finished Townsend off!

Duel Two

 

Townsend opened up Duel 2 with Artifact Sanctum, Artifact Moralltach, Traptrix Myrmeleo, and 3 copies of Mystical Space Typhoon. He Summoned Myrmeleo and activated its effect to add Bottomless Trap Hole from his Deck to his hand. He Set 2 copies of Mystical Space Typhoon, Moralltach, Artifact Sanctum, and Bottomless Trap Hole to his back row before ending his turn.

 

 

Wright Summoned Bujin Yamato, and when Townsend flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to try to banish it, Wright Chained Forbidden Lance! Wright Set a card to his back row next, and Townsend flipped Artifact Sanctum to Special Summon Artifact Moralltach from his Deck and destroy Yamato with Moralltach’s effect. Townsend activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Wright’s face-down Mystical Space Typhoon in Wright’s End Phase.

 

Townsend drew Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Gorilla and then attacked directly with Myrmeleo and Moralltach. He Set Mystical Space Typhoon before ending his turn.

 

Wright activated Dark Hole to clear the field! Next, he Normal Summoned Bujingi Turtle and attacked directly with it; but Townsend activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy his own Moralltach. He tried to Special Summon it to the field with its effect, but Wright discarded Skull Meister from his hand to negate its effect! Next, Wright Special Summoned Bujin Hirume by banishing Yamato from his Graveyard, and combined Hirume with Bujingi Turtle to Xyz Summon Bujintei Susanowo in Defense Position. He didn’t activate its effect, playing around a potential Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare.

 

Townsend drew Solemn Warning next turn. He Set it and then ended his turn.

 

Wright switched Susanowo into Attack Position and then detached Bujingi Turtle from it to activate its effect and add Bujin Yamato from his Deck to his hand. Next, he attacked directly with Susanowo to drop Townsend down to 3900 Life Points.

 

Townsend drew Necrovalley next turn. He activated Necrovalley and then Set a monster.

 

Wright activated the effect of Susanowo by detaching Bujin Hirume from it, and added Bujin Hirume from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned Yamato next, and then Set 2 cards to his back row. In his End Phase, he used the effect of Yamato to add Bujingi Hare from his Deck to his hand and discard it.

 

Townsend drew Dimensional Fissure next turn. He Set it to his back row and then ended his turn.

 

Wright entered his End Phase and used the effect of Yamato to add Bujin Mikazuchi from his Deck to his hand and discard Yamato.

 

Townsend drew Fire Formation – Tenki! He flipped Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Wright’s face-down Debunk and then activated Fire Formation – Tenki. He added Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear from his Deck to his hand with Tenki’s effect. Next, he Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear. He flipped Dimensional Fissure next. Then, he activated Bear’s effect by sending Tenki to the Graveyard, and destroyed Wright’s Susanowo. Next, Townsend Flip Summoned Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Gorilla. He combined Gorilla with Bear to Xyz Summon Number 50: Blackship of Corn and then detached an Xyz Material from Number 50: Blackship of Corn. Since Dimensional Fissure was on the field, Yamato was banished from the Duel, but Wright didn’t lose any Life Points from the effect of Number 50: Blackship of Corn.

 

Wright flipped Bujincarnation next turn, but its effect was negated by Necrovalley. Wright offered the handshake immediately thereafter, realizing he was defeated.

 

Andre Wright misses his opportunity to safely attack Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Gorilla in Duel 2, giving Royce Townsend the time he needs to lock down Wright’s plays and turn the Duel around! With just over 2 minutes left in the round, the Match was moving on to a third and final Duel!

 

Duel Three

 

Wright started off Duel 1 by activating Fire Formation – Tenki to add Bujin Yamato from his Deck to his hand. He Set 2 cards to his back row, Summoned Yamato, and then used Yamato’s effect to add Bujingi Hare from his Deck to his hand and discard it.

 

Townsend activated Pot of Duality, revealing Solemn Warning, Artifact Moralltach, and Fiendish Chain from the top of his Deck. Time in the round was called, and the Match proceeded to end-of-time procedure! He added Fiendish Chain to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. He Set a monster and then Set 3 cards to his back row. In his End Phase, he lost an Mystical Space Typhoon to Wright’s Mystical Space Typhoon.

 

Wright activated Mind Control to take control of Townsend’s face-down Fire Hand and Flip Summoned it. He combined Fire Hand with Bujin Yamato to Xyz Summon Diamond Dire Wolf in Defense Position and then activated its effect to have Diamond Dire Wolf destroy itself and Townsend’s face-down Mystical Space Typhoon; but Townsend Chained the Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Wright’s face-down Debunk. Next, Wright Normal Summoned Bujingi Quilin and Special Summoned Bujin Hirume by banishing Yamato from his Graveyard. Quilin attacked directly, and then Hirume’s attack was stopped by Fiendish Chain. In Main Phase 2, he combined his 2 monsters to Xyz Summon Bujintei Susanowo and detached an Xyz Material to send Bujingi Turtle from his Deck to his Graveyard.

 

Townsend activated Pot of Duality, revealing Bottomless Trap Hole and 2 copies of Fire Formation – Tenki from the top of his Deck. He added a copy of Tenki to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back into his Deck. Next, he activated Tenki to add Coach Soldier Wolfbark from his Deck to his hand. He Set Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear and one back row before ending his turn.

 

Wright activated Mystical Space Typhoon next turn to destroy Townsend’s face-down Forbidden Lance, and Townsend Chained it to weaken Susanowo. Next, Wright activated Susanowo’s effect to add Bujin Yamato from his Deck to his hand. He Summoned Yamato and then attacked Townsend’s face-down Bear with Susanowo to destroy it. Yamato attacked directly next, dropping Townsend down to 4500 Life Points. In his End Phase, Wright added Bujingi Turtle from his Deck to his hand and discarded it with Yamato’s effect.

 

Townsend drew Artifact Sanctum and then conceded, realizing he was in his last turn in overtime and could not deal the 3500 points of damage necessary to tie up the Duel.
