Sehabi Kheireddine is the last Infernity Duelist remaining in the World Championship Qualifier. His opponent, Jimmy Nguyen, is one of five Duelists in the Top 8 relying on the new Artifact Monsters in Primal Origin, but is the only Duelist among them who is using neither Fire and Ice Hands nor Fire Fist Monsters in his Deck. A victory in this Match will guarantee one of these Duelists a spot in the 2014 World Championship, so both Duelists will be giving this Match their all. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

 

Nguyen started off Duel 1 by Summoning Traptrix Myrmeleo and activating its effect to add Bottomless Trap Hole from his Deck to his hand. He Set 5 cards to his back row and then ended his turn.

 

 

Kheireddine opened up Duel 1 with Instant Fusion, Mystical Space Typhoon, Summoner Monk, Soul Charge, Infernity Archfiend, and Stygian Street Patrol. He Set Stygian Street Patrol and then passed his turn. In his End Phase, Nguyen activated Artifact Sanctum to Special Summon Artifact Moralltach from his Deck in Attack Position.

 

Nguyen attacked Stygian Street Patrol with Artifact Sanctum to destroy it and then attacked directly with Myrmeleo to drop Kheireddine down to 6400 Life Points. He Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

 

Kheireddine Summoned Infernity Archfiend and then activated Instant Fusion, paying 1000 Life Points to Special Summon Kamionwizard from his Extra Deck. He combined Kamionwizard with Infernity Archfiend to Xyz Summon Evilswarm Exciton Knight and then activated its effect by detaching an Xyz Material. Nguyen Chained Fiendish Chain to negate its effect; Kheireddine Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Fiendish Chain; and Nguyen Chained another Fiendish Chain to negate its effect. After everything resolved, Kheireddine activated his Evilswarm Exciton Knight’s effect again to detach another Xyz Material from it, even though its effect was negated by Fiendish Chain. He banished Stygian Street Patrol from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernity Archfiend from his hand next, and then activated Soul Charge! He paid 1000 Life Points to Special Summon Kamionwizard from his Graveyard and then combined it with Infernity Archfiend to Xyz Summon another Evilswarm Exciton Knight. He detached an Xyz Material from Evilswarm Exciton Knight to activate its effect, and Nguyen flipped Breakthrough Skill to negate it!

 

Nguyen Summoned Cardcar D next turn! He Tributed it to draw 2 cards and end his turn.

 

Kheireddine drew a card and then activated the effect of his Evilswarm Exciton Knight to successfully clear the field of all other cards! He Summoned Armageddon Knight next, and then activated its effect to send Archfiend Heiress from his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, he used his Heiress’s effect to add Archfiend Palabyrinth from his Deck to his hand.

 

Nguyen Set 2 cards to his back row, Summoned Cardcar D, and Tributed it to draw 2 cards before ending his turn.

 

Kheireddine drew Infernity Launcher. He Summoned Summoner Monk, switched it into Defense Position, and then Set his Launcher. He activated his Monk’s effect by discarding Palabyrinth to Special Summon Infernity Archfiend from his Deck and activated his Archfiend’s effect; but Nguyen flipped Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare to negate its effect and destroy it! Next, Kheireddine flipped Infernity Launcher! He sent it to the Graveyard to Special Summon 2 copies of Infernity Archfiend from his Graveyard and activated one of their effects to add Infernity Break from his Deck to his hand. He Set Infernity Break and then combined his Summoner Monk with Armageddon Knight to Xyz Summon Lavalval Chain; but Nguyen flipped Solemn Warning and paid 2000 Life Points to negate its Summon. Direct attacks from both copies of Archfiend and Evilswarm Exciton Knight dropped Nguyen down to 500 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, he combined his 2 Archfiends to Xyz Summon Gagaga Cowboy in Defense Position! He detached an Xyz Material from his Cowboy to deal 800 points of damage to Nguyen and end the Duel!

Duel Two

 

Nguyen started off Duel 2 by Setting 5 cards to his back row.

 

Kheireddine opened up Duel 2 with Dark Grepher, 2 copies of Soul Charge, Summoner Monk, Infernity Necromancer, and Dynatherium. He Special Summoned Dynatherium and then Normal Summoned Dark Grepher. Nguyen flipped Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy his own face-down Artifact Beagalltach and then Special Summoned Beagalltach in Defense Position. Next, he used Beagalltach’s effect to destroy his 2 face-down Artifact Moralltachs. He used his Moralltachs’ effects to Special Summon them and then destroy Dark Grepher and Dynatherium. Next, Kheireddine activated Soul Charge! He paid 2000 Life Points to Special Summon Dark Grepher and Dynatherium from his Graveyard. Then, he activated Dark Grepher’s effect by discarding Summoner Monk; but Nguyen flipped Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare to negate its effect and destroy Dark Grepher!

 

 

Nguyen switched Begalltach to Attack Position and then destroyed Dynatherium by attacking it with Moralltach. Next, Beagalltach and the other Moralltach attacked directly, dropping Kheireddine down to 2000 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Nguyen combined Moralltach with Beagalltach to Xyz Summon Constellar Pleiades. He detached an Xyz Material to return Moralltach to his hand with Pleiades’s effect and then Set 3 cards to his back row.

 

Kheireddine drew Infernity Archfiend but couldn’t use its effect, since he had 2 other cards in his hand. He activated Soul Charge and paid 1000 Life Points to Special Summon Dark Grepher from his Graveyard, but when he tried to activate its effect, Nguyen flipped Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare to negate its effect and destroy the Dark Grepher. Kheireddine immediately conceded, knowing he would be defeated on his next turn.

 

 

Jimmy Nguyen overwhelms Sehabi Kheireddine with his Artifacts in Duel 2! The Match is moving on to a third and final Duel!

 

Duel Three

 

Sehabi Kheireddine opened up Duel 3 with Archfiend Heiress, Dark Grepher, Summoner Monk, Infernity Break, and 2 copies of Armageddon Knight. He Set Dark Grepher and then ended his turn.

 

Nguyen activated Mind Control to take control of the face-down Dark Grepher and then Flip Summoned it. He Summoned Traptrix Dionaea next, and combined Dark Grepher with Dionaea to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller. He attacked directly with Abyss Dweller and then Set a monster along with 3 cards to his back row.

 

Kheireddine drew Infernity Necromancer and Set it.

 

Nguyen Tributed Abyss Dweller to Summon Majesty’s Fiend! He attacked and destroyed Infernity Necromancer with Majesty’s Fiend and then ended his turn.

 

Kheireddine Set a monster along with Infernity Break. In his End Phase, Nguyen flipped Artifact Ignition to destroy the newly Set Infernity Break and Set Artifact Moralltach from his Deck to his Spell & Trap Card Zone.

 

Nguyen attacked Kheireddine’s face-down Armageddon Knight with Majesty’s Fiend to destroy it and then flipped Call of the Haunted to Special Summon Dionaea. He attacked with Dionaea, dropping Kheireddine down to 4600 Life Points. Nguyen Set a card to his back row before passing his turn.

 

Kheireddine drew Soul Charge! He activated it and paid 3000 Life Points to Special Summon Dark Grepher, Infernity Necromancer, and Armageddon Knight from his Graveyard in Defense Position. He combined his Knight with Dark Grepher to Xyz Suummon Number 66: Master Key Beetle and then Set Infernity Break to his back row.

 

Nguyen attacked Infernity Necromancer with Majesty’s Fiend to destroy it and then Set a card to his back row.

 

Kheireddine drew Trap Stun next turn! He Set Armageddon Knight and Trap Stun before passing his turn. In his End Phase, he activated Fiendish Chain to negate the effect of his own Majesty’s Fiend, and then activated Artifact Sanctum to Special Summon Artifact Moralltach from his Deck. He used Moralltach’s effect to destroy Number 66: Master Key Beetle.

 

Nguyen attacked and destroyed Kheireddine’s face-down Armageddon Knight with Moralltach and then attacked directly with Dionaea, eliminating Kheireddine’s last 1600 Life Points.
