We’ve got two Duelists on the bubble for this Match – they need to win to stay in the tournament! First up is YCS Champion Michael Balan with Shaddolls, who made the trip from Las Vegas. His opponent is Kevin Alvarez, from Ontario, CA, using Satellarknights.

Duel 1

Alvarez started the final round with Upstart Goblin, then Satellarknight Deneb let him get Satellarknight Vega. He Set one to his back row.

Balan began with Shaddoll Dragon, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, Denko Sekka, Shaddoll Fusion, Shaddoll Beast, and Artifact Sanctum. He played Denko Sekka! Next was Shaddoll Fusion, combining Beast and Dragon into El Shaddoll Winda. Beast let him draw El Shaddoll Fusion, and Dragon destroyed Alvarez’s Set Breakthrough Skill. Winda destroyed Deneb in battle, and Denko Sekka attacked directly.

Alvarez played Vega, and Special Summoned Satellarknight Altair – it couldn’t use its effect due to Winda. Altair crashed into Denko Sekka, and Alvarez Set a back row card.

Balan drew Artifact Moralltach. He played El Shaddoll Fusion, fusing Winda and Moralltach for El Shaddoll Construct! Winda targeted El Shaddoll Fusion, and Construct activated, and Alvarez Chained Call of the Haunted on Altair. The Chain resolved – Altair was Summoned, then Construct sent Shaddoll Hedgehog to the Graveyard, and El Shaddoll Fusion went to the hand. In a new Chain, Altair and Hedgehog activated – Deneb was Special Summoned, and Balan added Shaddoll Squamata to his hand. Finally, Deneb gave Alvarez a new Altair in his hand. Balan continued now, and he played Squamata and Black Luster Soldier! Squamata attacked the Defense Position Deneb, Construct destroyed Vega, and Black Luster Soldier attacked Altair. Black Luster’s effect activated, and it attacked directly to finish the Duel!

Balan makes an awesome turn one El Shaddoll Winda play to shut down Alvarez’s options, then shuts off Winda by fusing again next turn!

Duel 2

Alvarez began with Upstart Goblin again. He Set four to his back row.

Balan started with Shaddoll Beast, Mistake, Eclipse Wyvern, Denko Sekka, El Shaddoll Fusion, and Mathematician. He played Denko Sekka without fear into Alvarez’s field! Next he used El Shaddoll Fusion, fusing Eclipse Wyvern and Shaddoll Beast for El Shaddoll Construct! Each of the monsters activated an effect – Construct sent Shaddoll Squamata to the Graveyard, Beast let him draw Mystical Space Typhoon, and Eclipse banished Dark Armed Dragon from the Deck. In a separate Chain, Squamata sent Shaddoll Falco to the Graveyard, which then came back face-down. Denko Sekka and Construct attacked, leaving Alvarez with 3500 Life Points.

Alvarez played Satellarknight Deneb, searching his Deck for Satellarknight Vega.

Balan drew Mystical Space Typhoon. He Flip Summoned Falco, bringing Beast back to the field face-down. He played Mathematician next, sending Shaddoll Squamata to the Graveyard, which in turn sent Shadoll Core to the Graveyard. Core gave Balan El Shaddoll Fusion. Mathematician attacked Deneb, and Balan swung with everything else to win the Match!
