Welcome to the final round of Saturday’s Dragon Duel tournament! 10 young Duelists participated in today’s Dragon Duel tournament. Each of these 10 Duelists was given 9 packs of Battle Pack 3: Monster League and constructed a 40 cards Deck to use in this tournament. Now, 9-year-old Dawson Mcgaha from Greenville, South Carolina and 12-year-old Vincent Riccardi from Southport, North Carolina have made it to Table 1 in this final round of the Dragon Duel tournament! Mcgaha currently has 2 wins and a draw in today’s tournament, and Riccardi is undefeated. The winner here will secure a first place finish and a spot in the YCS Dragon Duel Championship on Sunday. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

 

Mcgaha won the die roll and chose to go first. He Summoned Mezuki and then Set Skill Successor face-down.

 

Riccardi Set 3 cards to his back row and then Summoned Chow Len the Prophet. He activated its effect to pin down Mcgaha’s face-down Trap and then attacked Mezuki to destroy it in battle.

 

 

Mcgaha Set a card to his back row and then Summoned Black Brachios, switching Chow Len to Defense Position with its effect. He attacked Chow Len with Black Brachios, but Riccardi flipped Hate Buster, destroying Black Brachios and dealing 1800 points of damage to Mcgaha. Mcgaha banished Mezuki from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Brachios from his Graveyard in Attack Position before ending his turn.

 

Riccardi Summoned Wind-Up Juggler and then flipped Blast with Chain to power it up. He attacked Black Brachios with his Juggler and Mcgaha flipped Intrigue Shield to protect his monster from battle.

 

Mcgaha drew a card and Set a card to his back row. Next, he Summoned Berserk Gorilla to the field and increased its ATK by activating Skill Successor; but when Berserk Gorilla attacked, Riccardi flipped Zero Gravity to switch all monsters into Defense Position, causing Berserk Gorilla to be destroyed by its own effect!

 

Riccardi Summoned Tardy Orc and then attacked the Defense Position Brachios with his Juggler, destroying it with his Juggler’s effect.

 

Mcgaha Set a Magical Undertaker and then ended his turn.

 

Riccardi Set a monster and then attacked Mcgaha’s face-down Magical Undertaker with his Juggler to destroy it. He used his Undertaker’s effect to Special Summon Berserk Gorilla in Attack Position. Tardy Orc attacked Berserk Gorilla, and Mcgaha flipped Rare Metalmorph to increase his Gorilla’s ATK. Berserk Gorilla took down the Tardy Orc in battle.

 

Mcgaha drew Skill Successor and Set it. Next, he attacked Wind-Up Juggler with Berserk Gorilla to destroy it, and attacked Riccardi’s face-down Fencing Fire Ferret with X-Saber Airbellum to destroy it in battle. Riccardi used his Ferret’s effect to destroy Berserk Gorilla and deal 500 points of damage to Mcgaha’s Life Points.

 

Riccardi Summoned Evil HERO Infernal Gainer and attacked X-Saber Airbellum with it; but Mcgaha activated Skill Successor to increase the ATK of his Airbellum and destroy Infernal Gainer in battle while keeping his Airbellum on the field!

 

Mcgaha drew Mirror Wall and Set it. He attacked directly with Airbellum, but Riccardi Special Summoned Gentlemander from his hand in Defense Position to block the attack. Airbellum destroyed Geentlemander in battle.

 

Riccardi Summoned Toon Gemini Elf next turn and passed.

 

Mcgaha activated Card Advance to rearrange the top 5 cards of his Deck. Next, he banished Skill Successor from his Graveyard to increase his Airbellum’s ATK, making it strong enough to destroy Toon Gemini Elf. Riccardi’s Toon Gemini Elf went down, and Riccardi lost 500 Life Points.

 

Riccardi Summoned Battlestorm next turn and attacked Airbellum with it; but Mcgaha flipped Mirror Wall to halve the ATK of Battlestorm! Battlestorm was destroyed by Airbellum in battle and Riccardi dropped down to 5600 Life Points.

 

Mcgaha drew a card and then chose not to keep his Mirror Wall in his Standby Phase. He attacked directly with Airbellum, forcing Riccardi to discard the last card in his hand, and then Set a card to his back row.

 

Riccardi Set a card to his back row and passed.

 

Mcgaha drew Psychic Jumper and then attacked directly with Airbellum; but Riccardi flipped Poseidon Wave to negate the attack.

 

Riccardi drew a monster and Set it.

 

Mcgaha attacked and destroyed Riccardi’s face-down Victory Viper XX03.

 

Riccardi drew Stygian Street Patrol and attacked Airbellum with it; but Mcgaha flipped Ready for Intercepting to switch Stygian Street Patrol into face-down Defense Position.

 

Mcgaha drew Bark of Dark Ruler and Set it. He Summoned Psychic Jumper and then passed his turn.

 

Riccardi Flip Summoned Stygian Street Patrol and then Summoned Diskblade Rider. He banished Poseidon Wave from his Graveyard to increase the ATK of his Rider, and then attacked X-Saber Airbellum with his Rider; but Mcgaha flipped Bark of Dark Ruler and paid 700 Life Points to decrease the ATK of the Rider and destroy it in battle with his Airbellum. Next, Stygian Street Patrol attacked Airbellum, destroying both monsters.

 

Mcgaha drew Time Escaper and Set it. He switched his Jumper into Defense Position and then ended his turn.

 

Riccardi Summoned Seed of Flame and attacked Mcgaha’s face-down Time Escaper to destroy it.

 

Mcgaha drew Machine Assembly Line and activated it. He switched his Jumper into Attack Position and ended his turn.

 

Riccardi attacked Psychic Jumper with Seed of Flame to destroy it, dropping Mcgaha down to 3400 Life Points, and then ended his turn.

 

Mcgaha drew Closed Forest and activated it. He then sent his Machine Assembly Line to the Graveyard to Special Summon Psychic Jumper from his Graveyard in Defense Position and then ended his turn.

 

Riccardi activated Miracle Fertilizer and used its effect to Special Summon Tardy Orc from his Graveyard in Attack Position. He attacked Psychic Jumper with his Orc to destroy it, and then attacked directly with Seed of Flame, dropping Mcgaha down to 1800 Life Points.

 

Mcgaha drew Offerings to the Doomed and Set it.

 

Riccardi used Night Beam to destroy Offerings to the Doomed and then attacked directly with Tardy Orc and Seed of Flame to finish the Duel!

Duel Two

 

Mcgaha started off Duel 2 by Summoning Berserk Gorilla.

 

Riccardi Set 3 cards to his back row and then Summoned Victory Viper XX03.

 

Mcgaha Summoned Golden Flying Fish, and then Riccardi flipped Burst Breath, Tributing his Victory Viper to destroy Mcgaha’s two monsters! Mcgaha Set a card to his back row before passing his turn.

 

Riccardi Summoned Silent Psychic Wizard and banished Victory Viper from his Graveyard with its effect. He attacked directly with his Wizard and then passed his turn.

 

Mcgaha Summoned Black Brachios and used its effect to switch the Wizard to Defense Position; then Brachios attacked and destroyed the Wizard. Mcgaha Special Summoned Victory Viper with his Wizard’s effect.

 

Riccardi activated No Entry!! to switch all Attack Position monsters into Defense Position and then Summoned Battlestorm. He attacked Brachios with his Battlestorm to destroy it in battle.

 

Mcgaha Summoned Telekinetic Shocker and then activated Stamping Destruction; but Riccardi Chained his face-down Zero Gravity to switch the battle position of all monsters. Riccardi lost 500 Life Points to the effect of Stamping Destruction.

 

Riccardi switched his monsters into Attack Position and then attacked Telekinetic Shocker to destroy it. Next, Riccardi destroyed Mcgaha’s face-down Unstable Evolution with Victory Viper’s effect. Then, Battlestorm attacked directly.

 

Mcgaha drew Chiron the Mage and Summoned it. He attacked with it, and Riccardi Special Summoned Gentlemander from his hand in Defense Position. Chiron attacked Gentlemander, destroying it in battle.

 

 

Riccardi attacked and destroyed Chiron with Battlestorm and then attacked directly with Victory Viper, dropping Mcgaha down to 2900 Life Points.

 

Mcgaha drew Rare Metalmorph and then Summoned X-Saber Airbellum.

 

Riccardi activated Fusion Sword Murasame Blade, equipping it to Battlestorm. Battlestorm attacked Airbellum, and when Mcgaha flipped Rare Metalmorph, Riccardi flipped Dark Bribe to negate it. Riccardi destroyed Airbellum in battle, and then Victory Viper attacked directly, dropping Mcgaha down to 700 Life Points.

 

Mcgaha drew Forbidden Lance. He Summoned Machine King Prototype and then activated Forbidden Lance to weaken Battlestorm down to 1200 ATK. Machine King Prototype attacked and destroyed Battlestorm.

 

Riccardi passed without making a play.

 

Mcgaha Set a card to his back row and then Summoned Shutendoji. He banished Berserk Gorilla and Golden Flying Flish from his Graveyard to draw Trident Warrior from his Deck and then attacked Victory Viper with Shutendoji to destroy it. Machine King Prototype attacked directly next, dropping Riccardi down to 4800 Life Points.

 

Riccardi activated Card Advance to rearrange the top 5 cards of his Deck and then activated Earthquake to switch all monsters into Defense Position.

 

Mcgaha switched his monsters back into Attack Position on his next turn, Summoned Trident Warrior, and then banished 2 monsters from his Graveyard to draw a card with Shutendoji’s effect. Finally, he equipped his Machine King Prototype with Reptillianne Rage and attacked directly with all 3 of his monsters to wipe out the rest of Riccardi’s Life Points!

 

 

Dawson Mcgaha comes back in Duel 2 to push the Match to a third and final Duel!

 

Duel Three

 

Riccardi chose for Mcgaha to go first in Duel 3. Mcgaha Summoned Chiron the Mage and equipped it with Reptilianne Rage.

 

Riccardi Summoned Victory Viper and Set 3 cards to his back row.

 

Mcgaha drew a card and time in the round was called. The Duel would conclude in 5 turns. He Summoned Mezuki and then attacked Victory Viper with Mezuki to destroy it and deal 500 points of damage to Riccardi.

 

Riccardi Summoned Diskblade Rider and then passed his turn.

 

Mcgaha drew Mirror Wall and Set it. He Summoned Golden Flying Fish and then Tributed Mezuki with his Fish’s effect to destroy Diskblade Rider. Next, Mcgaha passed his turn without attacking.

 

Riccardi activated Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen and then Special Summoned Gentlemander from his hand with Valhalla’s effect. Next, he activated Ayers Rock Sunrise to Special Summon Diskblade Rider from his Graveyard. He attacked Golden Flying Fish with his Diskrider, destroying the Fish and dropping Mcgaha down to 7800 Life Points.

 

Mcgaha activated Closed Forest and then Summoned Shutendoji. He banished 2 monsters from his Graveyard to draw Psychic Jumper from his Deck and then ended his turn.

 

Riccardi Summoned Blue Thunder T-45 on his next and final turn, and then combined his 3 monsters to Xyz Summon Heroic Champion – Kusangki. An attack from Heroic Champion – Kusangki dropped Mcgaha’s Life Points below Riccardi’s, allowing Riccardi to win the Match in overtime!
