Steven De Lara and Omar Daoudi are both California Duelists that Duel against one another at their local tournaments. Now, they’re facing off in a Match that will determine who advances to the Finals. Which Duelist built the superior draft Deck, and has the skills needed to triumph in this Top 4 Feature Match? We’re about to find out! It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

 

De Lara chose to go second. Daoudi sent his hand to the bottom of his Deck, drew 5 new cards, and then shuffled his Deck, as permitted once per Match in Battle Pack 3: Monster League drafts. He Summoned Goblin Elite Attack Force and then passed his turn.

 

De Lara opened up with Koa’ki Meiru War Arms, Raigeki Bottle, Black Brachios, Bark of Dark Ruler, Victory Viper XX03, and Card Guard. He Summoned Black Brachios, activated its effect to switch Goblin Elite Attack Force into Defense Position, and then attacked the Elite Attack Force to destroy it. He Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

 

Daoudi Summoned Chow Len the Prophet, activated its effect to stop De Lara from using Bark of Dark Ruler, and then Set a card to his back row.

 

De Lara drew Destructotron and then Summoned Card Guard to the field, placing a Guard Counter on it. He attacked Chow Len with Card Guard and Daoudi flipped Forbidden Chalice to increase the ATK of Chow Len; but De Lara flipped Bark of Dark Ruler and paid 1800 Life Points to reduce the ATK of Chow Len by 1800. Card Guard destroyed Chow Len in battle and then Black Brachios attacked directly, dropping Daoudi down to 4700 Life Points.

 

Daoudi Summoned Bazoo the Soul-Eater and activated its effect by banishing 2 monsters from his Graveyard to increase Bazoo’s ATK to 2200. Bazoo attacked and destroyed Black Brachios, dropping De Lara down to 5800 Life Points.

 

De Lara Summoned Spined Gillman, increasing the ATK of his monsters by 400. He flipped Raigeki Bottle and then Card Guard (2300 ATK) attacked Bazoo (2200 ATK); but Daoudi discarded Master Craftsman Gamil from his hand to increase Bazoo’s ATK by 300 and win the battle! De Lara ended his turn with 1 Thunder Counter on Raigeki Bottle.

 

Daoudi Summoned Sea Koala and activated its effect to reduce the ATK of Spined Gillman to 0. He attacked with Sea Koala and Bazoo to destroy the Gillman and drop De Lara down to 3900 Life Points.

 

De Lara Summoned Koa’ki Meiru War Arms and activated its effect to equip it with the Spined Gillman in his Graveyard and increase War Arms’s ATK by 650. War Arms attacked and destroyed Bazoo, dropping Daoudi down to 4250 Life Points and adding another counter to his Raigeki Bottle. De Lara Set a card to his back row and revealed Victory Viper XX03 during his End Phase to keep his War Arms on the field.

 

Daoudi Summoned Destructotron and De Lara flipped Offerings to the Doomed to destroy Sea Koala. Daoudi activated Swords of Concealing Light to put Koa’ki Meiru War Arms face-down and then attacked it with Destructotron to destroy it. Destructotron was destroyed in the End Phase since Daoudi didn’t control any other monsters.

 

De Lara skipped his Draw Phase and then Summoned Jurrac Protops. He attacked directly and added a Thunder Counter to Raigeki Bottle.

 

Daoudi Summoned Telekinetic Shocker and attacked Jurrac Protops. He activated Enemy Controller to switch Protops into Defense Position and destroy it in battle.

 

De Lara drew Trident Warrior and Summoned it. He attacked Shocker to destroy it, adding a fourth Thunder Counter to his Raigeki Bottle.

 

 

Daoudi conceded on his next turn, unable to destroy Trident Warrior or Raigeki Bottle. Daoudi chose to go second in Duel 2!

 

Duel Two

 

De Lara opened up Duel 2 with Offerings to the Doomed, Black Veloci, Submarineroid, Madolche Baaple, and Berserk Gorilla. He Set Offerings to the Doomed and Submarineroid before ending his turn.

 

Daoudi Summoned Goblin Elite Attack Force and attacked De Lara’s face-down Submarineroid to destroy it. He Set 3 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

 

De Lara Summoned Black Veloci and attacked Goblin Elite Attack Force to destroy it in battle.

 

Daoudi Set a monster and then passed his turn.

 

De Lara Summoned Berserk Gorilla. He attacked Daoudi’s face-down Magical Undertaker with Black Veloci to destroy it, and Magical Undertaker’s effect activated to Special Summon Goblin Elite Attack Force from the Graveyard. Berserk Gorilla attacked next, and De Lara flipped Offerings to the Doomed to try to destroy Goblin Elite Attack Force; but Daoudi Chained Burst Breath to Tribute Goblin Elite Attack Force and wipe De Lara’s field clear!

 

Daoudi Summoned Uminotaurus and attacked directly for 1700 points of damage.

 

De Lara Summoned Black Brachios and activated its effect to switch Uminotaurus to Defense Position. He attacked with Black Brachios, but Daoudi flipped Poseidon Wave to negate its attack and deal 800 points of damage to De Lara.

 

Daoudi Summoned Magical Exemplar and then activated Psychokinesis to pay 1000 Life Points and destroy Black Brachios. He added 2 Spell Counters to his Exemplar, and removed them to Special Summon Magical Undertaker from his Graveyard in Attack Position. He attacked directly with Uminotaurus, Magical Exemplar, and Magical Undertaker. He combined his 2 Level 4 monsters to Xyz Summon Fairy Cheer Girl in Main Phase 2. He detached an Xyz Material from Fairy Cheer Girl to draw a card and then he Set a card to his back row.

 

De Lara activated Ayers Rock Sunrise; but Daoudi activated Pollinosis and Tributed Magical Undertaker to negate and destroy it! He Summoned Madolche Baaple next, and activated its effect to switch his Baaple and Cheer Girl into Defense Position.

 

Daoudi detached an Xyz Material from Fairy Cheer Girl to draw a card, Summoned Leotaur, and then attacked Baaple with Leotaur to destroy it. Baaple shuffled back into De Lara’s Deck.

 

De Lara Summoned Chain Dog and then attacked Cheer Girl to destroy it.

 

Daoudi Summoned Sea Koala and activated its effect to reduce the ATK of Chain Dog to 0. Leotaur attacked Chain Dog next, wiping out the last 1700 of De Lara’s Life Points!

 

 

De Lara chose to go second in Duel 3!

 

Duel Three

 

Daoudi started off Duel 3 by Summoning Uminotaurus and Setting 2 cards to his back row.

 

After sending his first hand back to his Deck to redraw a new hand, De Lara opened up with Trident Warrior, Super Rush Recklessly, Berserk Gorilla, Evilswarm Thunderbird, Plant Food Chain, and Metalmorph. He Summoned Berserk Gorilla and attacked with it, destroying Uminotaurus.

 

Daoudi passed without making a play.

 

De Lara Summoned Evilswarm Thunderbird and attacked directly with Berserk Gorilla and Evilswarm Thunderbird to drop Daoudi down to 4050 Life Points.

 

Daoudi Summoned Sunlight Unicorn and attacked Evilswarm Thunderbird. De Lara activated Plant Food Chain during the Damage Step to increase his Thunderbird’s ATK and win the battle, and Daoudi conceded, completely overwhelmed by De Lara’s field.
