Our Round 2 Feature Match pits Devin Seman against Kai Takeshita. Seman is piloting his Zefra Deck today, made possible by the brand new Crossed Souls Set just released days ago. His build features highlights from the various strategies that the Zefra monsters dip into including Nekroz, Satellarknights, and Yang Zing. Takeshita is playing a Dark deck centered on stopping his opponent’s plays with powerful trap cards. This is bound to be an awesome feature match and it’s going to showcase how the new Zefra strategy operates. Seman won the die roll and opted to go first.

Seman opened with Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing, Zefra Divine Strike, Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz, Effect Veiler, and Satellarknight Zefrathuban. He Set Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing and Zefra Divine Strike and ended his turn.

Takeshita started off with Armageddon Knight which was met with Seman’s Effect Veiler. Armageddon Knight attacked over Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing which Special Summoned Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing from the Deck in Defense Position. Takeshita Set two Spell or Traps and ended his turn.

Seman drew Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing. He changed Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing to Attack Position and attacked into Armageddon Knight. He then Special Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his Deck in Attack Position, and Special Summoned Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing from his graveyard with its own effect. In Main Phase 2 he Synchro Summoned Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing. Then he activated Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing’s effect to destroy itself and Takeshita’s Set Dimensional Prison. Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing activated in the graveyard to Special Summon Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from the Deck in Defense Position. Then he Normal Summoned Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing and Synchro Summoned Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing. Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing targeted Takeshita’s face-down card and Armageddon Knight which were then shuffled back into the Deck. He then activated Satellarknight Zefrathuban in his Pendulum Zone. Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing destroyed the Pendulum Spell to Special Summon a Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing from his graveyard.

Takeshita Set a monster and a Spell or Trap.

Seman drew Yang Zing Creation. He used Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing to destroy Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing and Special Summon another from his Graveyard. The destroyed one activated and Special Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his Deck in Defense Position. He then Synchro Summoned another Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing to bounce Takeshita’s two face-downs back to his Deck. Both Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing’s attacked directly and Set Yang Zing Creation before ending his turn.
Takeshita drew his next card, thought for a moment, and conceded. Two Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing was too much for his Deck to handle, and Seman takes a quick Game 1!

Takeshita chose to go first. He Normal Summoned Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, Set a Spell or Trap, and ended his turn.

Seman opened with Solemn Warning, two Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing, Oracle of Zefra, Yang Zing Path, and Taotie, Shadow of the Yang Zing. He activated Oracle of Zefra to add Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing. Next he activated Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing in his Pendulum Zone, as well as Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing. He Pendulum Summoned Taotie, Shadow of the Yang Zing and Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his hand and searched his Deck for Yang Zing Creation with Zefraniu’s effect! Taotie, Shadow of the Yang Zing attacked over Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer. Seman Set Solemn Warning, Yang Zing Path, and Yang Zing Creation before ending his turn.

Takeshita Normal Summoned Armageddon Knight which was stopped by Seman’s Solemn Warning.

Seman drew Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing. He Normal Summoned it and was hit with a Torrential Tribute. He lost all three of his monsters, all of which activated their effects. When the dust settled he added Oracle of the Zefra to his hand and Special Summoned both Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing and Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing. He activated Oracle of Zefra to search Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz. He Pendulum Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing and Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz. Next, he Synchro Summoned Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing using Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing and Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing. Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing destroyed Oracle of Zefra to Special Summon Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing from the Graveyard. He then Synchro Summoned another Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing using Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing and Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing. He then used his second Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing destroying Yang Zing Creation to Special Summon Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing from his graveyard yet again. He Synchro Summoned Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier using Jiaotu and Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz. Dewloren bounced his two Pendulum Scales back to his hand and then gained 1000 ATK. He then activated Yang Zing Path to shuffle back two Jiaotu and Taotie into the Deck to draw Effect Veiler and Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing. All of his monsters attacked directly to wipe out the last of Takeshita’s Life Points!
