Our Top 16 Match pits Max Reynolds against Tyree Tinsley. Tinsley just came off of last Feature Match with a swift 2-0, and Reynolds has been earning several Top 8’s at Regional Qualifiers over the past couple months with Nekroz. This is another Nekroz Mirror Match with two masters of the Deck, so we’re bound to see some awesome combos that we wouldn’t necessarily see in the average Feature Match. Reynolds won the die roll and opted to go second.

Tinsley opened by discarding Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Kaleidoscope to his hand. He used it to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus using Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz. The latter added a Nekroz of Trishula. He used Nekroz of Valkyrus to tribute itself and Nekroz of Trishula and draw two cards. He banished Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Kaleidoscope to his hand. Then he passed.

Reynolds started with Nekroz Mirror, Nekorz of Gungnir, Mystical Space Typhoon, Nekroz Kaleidoscope, Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz, and Nekroz Cycle. He activated Nekroz Cycle discarding Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Gungnir and added Nekroz of Brionac to his hand. He discarded it to add Nekroz of Valkyrus to his hand. Then he used Nekroz Mirror to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus banishing the Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz in his grave. Both his monsters attacked directly. In Main Phase 2 he Set Mystical Space Typhoon and ended his turn.

Tinsley activated Reinforcement of the Army to add Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz. Next, he activated Nekroz Cycle to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus from his grave using a Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz in hand, which searched out a Nekroz of Brionac. Then Normal Summoned Dance Princess of the Nekroz. He attacked Nekroz of Gungnir with Nekroz of Valkyrus and Reynolds used it discarding Nekroz Kaleidoscope to destroy Dance Princess of the Nekroz. Tinsley used another Reinforcement of the Army in Main Phase 2 to grab a Nekroz of Clausolas. He used Nekroz of Valkyrus tributing itself and Nekroz of Clausolas to draw 2 cards. Then he used Nekroz of Brionac to add Nekroz of Valkyrus. Next, he banished Nekroz Cycle and Nekroz of Brionac to search his Deck for another Nekroz Cycle. He passed.

He discarded Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Kaleidoscope to his hand. Then he used it to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Unicore using Herald of Arc Light. He added a Nekroz of Brionac to his hand. He Set Forbidden Lance and ended his turn.

Tinsley activated Nekroz of Brionac to add Nekroz of Unicore to his hand. Then he activated Nekroz Kaleidoscope to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Unicore using Herald of Arc Light. That added a Nekroz of Valkyrus. He discarded Nekroz of Clausolas to add a Nekroz Cycle. Next, he activated Reinforcement of the Army to add Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz. Then he activated the Cycle discarding a Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus, and search out a Nekroz of Trishula. He activated Nekroz Mirror banishing Nekroz of Brionac and Nekroz of Clausolas to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Trishula, but Reynolds responded with Artifact Lancea! He Normal Summoned Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands to add Nekroz of Unicore and then he used Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Tinsley chained Mind Crush calling Nekroz of Unicore! It was discarded and no Ritual Summon was performed. Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands crashed into Nekroz of Unicore and in Main Phase 2 Reynolds discarded Nekroz of Brionac to add Nekroz of Trishula to his hand. He then banished Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Nekroz of Unicore to add Nekroz Mirror. Afterwards he used it to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Trishula by banishing Nekroz of Clausolas and Nekroz of Brionac. Nekroz of Trishula banished Nekroz of Valkyrus from field, Nekroz of Valkyrus in hand, and Nekroz of Trishula in grave. Reynolds Set Raigeki and ended.

Tinsley started off by Normal Summoning Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands. It searched for a Nekroz of Brionac, and then he Xyz Summoned Evilswarm Exciton Knight. He activated Nekroz of Brionac and then chained Evilswarm Exciton Knight to destroy the field and add Nekroz of Unicore to his hand. He pitched it to add back Nekroz of Brionac.

Reynolds drew Shared Ride. Not what he wanted to see. He Set it and passed.

Tinsley activated Nekroz of Brionac and Reynolds used Shared Ride. Nekroz of Valkyrus was added and Reynolds drew Exiled Force. Tinsley Ritual Summoned Nekroz of Valkyrus with Nekroz Mirror banishing Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz and Reynolds conceded. We’re going to Game 3!

Tinsley went first. He used Nekroz of Brionac to search for Nekroz of Valkyrus. Then he used Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Reynolds chained Maxx “C” while Tinsley Ritual Summoned Nekroz of Valkyrus and Unicore sending Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. He tributed both monsters to draw two cards and then banished Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Nekroz of Unicore to add Nekroz Cycle to his hand. Then he discarded Nekroz of Unicore for Nekroz of Valkyrus.

Reynolds opened Senju of the Thousand Hands, Nekroz Kaleidoscope, Nekroz of Clausolas, two Forbidden Lance, and Raigeki. He Normal Summoned Senju of the Thousand Hands and searched a Nekroz of Unicore. Then he activated Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Tinsley chained Maxx “C”. Nekroz of Unicore was Ritual Summoned and Reynolds triggered his Herald of Arc Light to add Nekroz of Valkyrus. Next, he attacked with Senju of the Thousand Hands into a Nekroz of Valkyrus. He Xyz Summoned Lavalval Chain and sent Djinn Releaser of Rituals to his Graveyard. He discarded Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Cycle, which was then used to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Clausolas banishing the Djinn. He Set two Forbidden Lance and Raigeki before ending his turn.

Tinsley started his turn with 7 cards in hand due to Maxx “C”. He discarded a Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Mirror. Then he Normal Summoned Bull Blader and attacked Nekroz of Clausolas but was stopped by Nekroz of Valkyrus. In Main Phase 2 he discarded Nekroz of Brionac and time in the round was called. He added Nekroz of Valkyrus and Set one before passing.

Reynolds drew Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands. He flipped Raigeki to destroy Bull Blader, and then Normal Summoned Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands to add Nekroz of Gungnir to his hand. He used Lavalval Chain to stack Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands to the top of his Deck. Then he attacked with Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands and was met with Nekroz of Valkyrus to stop it.

Tinsley discarded Nekroz of Unicore to add back Nekroz of Valkyrus. He Set a backrow and a monster before passing.
