Top 32 Feature Match: Barrett Keys versus Tyree Tinsley
We’ve narrowed down over 1700 competitors to just the Top 32, and there are a ton of big name Duelists that made the top cut. Two of those big names are none other than Barrett Keys and Tyree Tinsley. Both of these Duelists are experienced and are playing Nekroz teched out to win the Mirror Match. Whoever loses here goes home with a respectable Top 32 rank, but winner has the opportunity to take the whole event! This is sure to be a high pressure game with tons of stellar plays. Tinsley won the die roll and chose second.
Keys opened Nekroz of Trishula, Shared Ride, Nekroz of Clausolas, Nekroz of Unicore, and Senju of the Thousand Hands. He Normal Summoned Senju of the Thousand Hands to add Nekroz of Valkyrus to his hand. Then he used Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Kaleidoscope. Next, he used Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Tinsely chained Maxx “C”. Keys sent Dragon Master Knight to the grave to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus and Nekroz of Unicore. Then he Xyz Summoned Lavalval Chain and used its effect to stack Maxx “C” to the top of his Deck. He used Nekroz of Valkyrus tributing both his monsters to draw Maxx “C” and Torrential Tribute. Next, he banished Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Nekroz of Unicore to add Nekroz Cycle to his hand. He Set Shared Ride and Torrential Tribute before passing.
Tinsley started off by Normal Summoning Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, and Keys chained Shared Ride. Tinsley chained Mystical Space Typhoon targeting Keys’ Torrential Tribute, which was chained to destroy the Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands. Tinsley added Nekroz of Clausolas to his hand and Keys drew Raigeki. Tinsley Set a backrow and passed.
Keys drew Nekroz of Brionac. He discarded it to add a Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to his hand. Next, he Set Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz and activated Nekroz Cycle sending the Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus. The Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz added a Nekroz of Clausolas to his hand that he then discarded to add Nekroz Mirror. He used it and Tinsley chained Book of Eclipse. Keys Ritual Summoned Nekroz of Trishula and attacked directly. He Set Raigeki and passed, drawing a Reinforcement of the Army in the End Phase due to Book of Eclipse turning Nekroz of Valkyrus face-down.
Tinsley discarded Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Kaleidoscope. He activated it and was met with Maxx “C”. He Ritual Summoned Nekroz of Valkyrus using Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz and added a Nekroz of Brionac to his hand. Keys drew another Reinforcement of the Army. Tinsley used Nekroz of Brionac to add Nekroz of Trishula to his hand. He then used Nekroz of Valkyrus to tribute itself and Nekroz of Clausolas in hand to draw two cards. He banished Nekroz Kaleidoscope to search his Deck and chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Keys’ face-down Raigeki. Nekroz Kaleidoscope added Nekroz Mirror, which he used to banish Nekroz of Nekroz of Brionac in grave and a Djinn Releaser of Rituals in hand to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Trishula. That banished a Nekroz Cycle in grave, Nekroz of Trishula on field, and Reinforcement of the Army in hand. He attacked over Nekroz of Valkyrus and ended his turn.
Keys drew Bull Blader. He banished a Nekroz Mirror and Nekroz of Clausolas to search for a Nekroz Cycle. Then he used Reinforcement of the Army to add a Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to his hand. He Normal Summoned Bull Blader and attacked Nekroz of Trishula but was hit with a Nekroz of Valkyrus.
Tinsley Normal Summoned Bull Blader and attacked Keys’. Nekroz of Trishula attacked directly.
Keys drew Senju of the Thousand Hands. He Normal Summoned it and searched his Deck for a Nekroz of Valkyrus. Then he passed turn.
Tinsley attacked over the Senju of the Thousand Hands with Nekroz of Trishula.
Keys drew Preparation of Rites. He used it to add a Nekroz of Brionac to his hand, which was then discarded to add a Nekroz of Unicore. He passed.
Tinsley attacked with Nekroz of Trishula directly.
Keys drew Nekroz Kaleidoscope. He passed.
Tinsley used Nekroz Cycle discarding Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to bring back Nekroz of Valkyrus. Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz added Nekroz of Brionac which he discarded to add another Nekroz of Valkyrus to his hand. Nekroz of Trishula attacked and Keys used Nekroz of Valkyrus to stop it. He Set a backrow before ending.
Keys drew Shared Ride. He used Nekroz of Unicore to add back Nekroz of Valkyrus and then Set the Shared Ride before passing.
Tinsley attacked with Nekroz of Trishula but got hit by the Nekroz of Valkyrus.
Keys drew Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands. He Normal Summoned it and added Nekroz of Unicore to his hand. He discard that to add back Nekroz of Valkyrus and end his turn.
Tinsley attacked Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands with Nekroz of Trishula but Nekroz of Valkyrus stopped it.
Keys drew another Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands. He Set it and passed.
Tinsley Normal Summoned Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands and Keys scooped his cards up to go to Game 2.
Keys opted to go second. Tinsley Normal Summoned Senju of the Thousand Hands to add Nekroz of Valkyrus to his hand. Then he used Nekroz of Brionac to get a Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz. He used Nekroz Cycle sending Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus. The Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz added a Nekroz of Brionac and he used Nekroz of Valkyrus to clear his board and draw 2 cards. Then he used Preparation of Rites to add Nekroz of Unicore to his hand and the Nekroz Cycle from Graveyard. Then he discard Nekroz of Unicore to add back Nekroz of Valkyrus. He Set a backrow and ended his turn.
Keys opened two Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, Senju of the Thousand Hands, Raigeki, Nekroz of Unicore, and Nekroz of Valkyrus. He Normal Summoned Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands and added a Nekroz Kaleidoscope. He used it and Tinsley chained Mind Crush calling Nekroz of Unicore! Keys had to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus using a Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands and Senju of the Thousand Hands, and then he attacked and tributed itself to draw an Artifact Lancea in Main Phase 2. He banished Nekroz Kaleidoscope to add a Nekroz Cycle to his hand.
Tinsley used Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Kaleidoscope to his hand, then used Nekroz of Brionac to add Nekroz of Unicore. Next, he activated Nekroz Kaleidoscope to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus and Nekroz of Unicore sending Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to the grave. He then activated Cycle using Dance Princess of the Nekroz to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Unicore, and Keys extended the handshake! Tyree Tinsley is going on to the Top 16!
